Yes I am now.

There is an editor whereby you can make any league playable with any teams in the world.  I have not actually played with it myself.  NZFC will be better in the first data patch as we will update for this seasons squads.  Deadlines don't align so first release has to be at the end of last season.

Hey Hard News, I have the first patch but it is still showing last seasons squads in the NZFC.

Just lost the final 3-0 to the Mariners.

f**king stupid cause the All Whites didn't make the World Cup so they were all out on international duty.

So that was Daniel, Lochead, Sigmund and Bertos. Paston, McKain and Ifill were out injured, Crowther was having injections just so he could play the game.

Was a disaster but still a great season!

In the year 2010 there is a rule change in the A-League to be able to buy and loan players from A-League teams.

Yeah, first patch has no data.  Next patch.  I have a deadline of late November so expect it out early December.

well, i bit the bullet, and decided to re-start my phoenix season, simply because i had selected too many leagues and players and it was churning away very slowly. a bit gutted - as i won my first 2 games of a-league season 4-0! but glad i did, as it's zipping along now.

in initial game, had about 25 leagues and extra players totalling 120,000 in my game - in newly started game, about 12 leagues and 30,000 (which is still a s**tload of players, including heaps of random fijians etc :) )

I'm going to start a new thread detailing my phoenix career - simply to try and encourage more fans to pick up this incredible game!

Has anyone managed/ or bothered to add a A2-league?

Loving the game. Must say the 3D engine has approved and the whole game is awesome.

Started off with my beloved Newcastle. Ashley is stalling on bids to takeover the club, no money to spend and it looks like NUFC are in debt. But the toon are on top of the championship. Sounds very realistic.

Hey Hard News, something you might like to raise with SI Games:

The OFC player of the year winner hasn't been updated from the last winner, Timmy Cahill in 04 (remembering Smeltzy was the 08 winner for instance).
Also the name has a problem itself and shows as a sting of random letters and numbers.

In reply to Everton FC:  If you mean an A-League second division no, but NZ domestic divisions, yes.

Got the game tonight at  6pm, downloading the first patch at 70 meg, took an hour. joined the MB for it. anything else I need to know about??

I was a bit confused at paying near $100 and being told I could then download the game so I wouldn't need the disk installed. I didn't want to ruin my Internet 5 gig.

Yeah definetly good to buy the actual disk rather than use up bandwith if you're capped. Is the problem with buying games from steam,is it can end up costing you more if you go over your bandwidth limit.

I couldn't believe having bought the game that It was suggested I could download it? I know they are concerned about people trying to load the game and then returning it for a refund, and understandably so, but surely the auto downloads should be there for those who have the disk in their machine when playing.

Oh yup. I've created a 20 team A-league, just added 10 other random Aussie state leagues.

Anyone else had Sigmund as a CD,DM and CM?

Cheers Mart, my fault that one.  I've missed it.

Sigmund will appear as that as historically he has played those roles.

If you load the patch in, does the new data have effect on your current saved game?

Loving the game. Miles ahead of 08 and 09 in my opinion.

I think what you'll find is that it is not offering you the chance to download the game, only to activate it over steam.

when you purchase a boxed copy, when installing you can either activate it through steam (so you don't need to keep the disc in the drive), or just require the disc in at all times. i preferred the disc-in-drive activation.

[QUOTE=Tommy_Smyth]If you load the patch in, does the new data have effect on your current saved game?

You'll actually find there is NO data update included in the first patch. (Aside from one or two "hard coded" changes, ie Steven Carr was missing from initial release, but added in patch).

You do not need to start a new game to get benefits of patch - I often tend to though just in case.

My re-started Phoenix game, with less leagues and players selected, is zipping along quicker than any previous FM games, loving it!

So patchs only affect new games that are created after the patch is loaded in?

Its a pity NZ so far behind the rest of the world in regards to capping bandwidth (its unlimited here in the UK).

Something you guys might like to do is download a file from here to add in the missing club, competition and country logos:

www.fm-base.co.uk

Just search in their 09 data base as it works fine with 10

Hi again HN, not sure if you are aware of this but Ivan has an international retirement date of early November 09 on him which is wrong and even with editors I am unable to remove this.
