They have the new tactical thing in FML. Its really good, much easier and more convenient than the FM09 sliders.

Also I'm curious...

Why don't they just add the NZFC and NSWPL in as playable leagues if all the data is already in the game?Gangsta!2009-08-14 12:38:33

News,

Are you in any position yet to comment on what we can expect from the A-League in FM10?

If I'd had time to do some test I would, but I've been tied up with other stuff.  Maybe late next week.

When you do know a bit more, could you let us know what minimum system requirements are.

Bullion, from what I understand will be almost identical required specs to FM09.

anyone still playing 09?

For something a little different, I used a "Free Transfer database" (where every player & staff member is released from every club, so every person is unattached and every club has no players), and started a new game as the Phoenix (A-League only active league).

Well... I've got an incredibly awesome team...

Schwarzer in goals

McKain, Mark Milligan, Boyens, A Griffiths, Wilkinson & Cornthwaite as defenders

Borbon (an excellent young south american wing back), Wilkshire, Jamison as fullbacks

Chris James, Denilson (yes, from Arsenal), Delph, Kewell, Jack Wilshere, an excellent young south american, & McGlinchey in midfield

Smeltz, Killen, & Rukyavitsa up front.

A big squeeze to get them all under the salary cap... but they are desperate for a club!

Unfortunately, a week into the proper season, no other club has a full squad... a few decent signings made amongst other clubs, but none close to the calibre of my squad, and I easily won the Pre Season cup.

Still, a good idea for something a little different.

Sounds like a good bit of fun. Might look into it.

I'm currently playing as Salzburg. Did the double first season, and just need to beat Olympiakos to make the CL group stages.

Surely you mean Energy Drink FC? That's how this mockery of a club is often referred to in Europe.

The very same. The Austrian Bundesliga isn't licensed, so it doesn't feel quite as dirty since I'm not faced with a Red Bull logo all day.

Yes, I play all day, that is how much free time I have.

Load the database in the editor, then go to Edit (I think), and then select Release All Players.

It can be done that way - but I actually downloaded a Free Transfer update, as doing it the former way doesn't quite release all staff accurately.

I think this may link to the update I used:

I don't understand how you fitted all that under the 25k per week salary cap? Ive got a squad of 23 and can only fit 19 in. Highest earner is 2.5k

great fun though startting from stratch

Well, Scottishbhoy, it was a real mission, but you have to appreciate that the players can be got for peanut wages when they're on a free.

Also note, that the A-League is the only league I have active - so I don't think any clubs outside the A-League have actually signed any players, and I didn't really have much competition for any signings. These players are desperate! It was so much fun, getting Cornthwaite (lol), then Smeltz, then Kewell, then bloody Denilson!

I also re-negotiated a couple of players contracts after signing them and they agreed to lower wages (some with bigger bonuses instead). And my 3rd keeper missed out on a squad number as I had blown my cap.

Noticed in the database of 09 that phoenix's die hard fans=0, what's that about? Can that be fixed for 10?sissoko_no1fan2009-09-26 22:59:24

Have played 09 since the day it came out, officially been playing for 21 days according to save game stats (I'm the most successful manager in the world, second historically behind Fergusson).

Anyway downloading 10 now, the live match screen shots show a huge improvement and finally being able to manage Waikato and hopefully play in the Oceania Champions league is a huge carrot for me.

I haven't played with the league construction stuff.  I imagine it will have some teething issues, just a hunch.

Downloading FM10 gold demo now too.. good to see system specs are similar to last year. I'll probably only be able to select a few leagues though

Solid improvement on 09. The best improvement is the way you choose your tactics. You choose roles for your players rather than using the traditional sliders. It will be worth buying when it is released.

Take it it's very similar to FML then?

Its great to see the screen cleaned up.  Its been giving me alot of grief on my computer though when I go to a match:  The game starts playing but the screen says still loading, not sure if this is a software or hardware glitch but am looking forward to taking Waikato to the CWC in the full version. disco_mart2009-10-16 10:14:26

There is no Otago or Can U in demo . There are f**k all NZers in it at all tbh but the A League isn't included in the database which explains a lot. It looks good though, and runs a lot smoother than 09.

You could have done this in FM09.You just needed to edit a league eg the A-League and turn it into the NZFC.

Yes, but in 10 there is an engine without needing to use the editor.

NSWPL vs VPL vs NZFC here we go.

I don't know if this is a glitch but several times the keeper has just stood still and allowed the striker to tackle them, resulting in a goal. Has this happened to anyone else?
