Add a secong manager, use that to take over the Phoenix and play both.

Just got this game over the weekend.  Started my first ever season in charge with the Phoenix.  Replaced all the coaching staff with staff that had better stats at a cheaper rate.  Had to pay all the let go staff out their contracts though.  But the new coaches and staff are really paying off in training.

Setup training schedules for GK's, Defenders, Midfield, Attackers.  Started with a 442 which was absolutely crap.  Lost first game to Jets 2-0.  Since then I switched to a 3-5-2 and drew with Glory, then beat Roar away, and fricken just lost to the Old Bling/Cheat FC 1-0 in the last min :@!

Signed Ivan Vicelich on a free transfer and is now a starter and a stand out performer.  Daniel is also a standout performer.  Tried to sign Jarrod Smith on a free but he chose to sign with Auckland City wtf?  Also signed some backup defender called Mitchell, seems decent, also on a free.

Awesome game, so much stuff to do!

i recently got back into the game, back playing my nix save, currently 2nd with 3 games left, in 2012 season, signed a david cambel (not sure on spelling) from hawkes bay for 450k is a star, got clubs like psv and the likes after him now, i not going to sell tho unless the chair makes me like he did my ex man utd reserves player... i did get 7 mill for him tho... lol got him on a free to :D

Question:

If you are managing a Premier League team and get relegated but the Championship is not one of the playable leagues. Do you just get fired or stop being manager or something?

You stop becoming manager. It happened to me when i got relegated as a Blue Square South team once (yeah pretty embarrassing).

still playing nix, have wone the a-league three times, ACL once, and finished third in the world club champs, only losing to man u. had offers to coach several German first divison teams, declined on all, waiting for the big prem league offer to come....

so stoked I managed to drag Smneltz back from Gold Coast, he's been top goal scorer for the last two seasons.

New Zealand. Got offered a job to save Fulham from relegation but the Championship is not playable. Turned the offer down anyway.

Has anyone tried to create a NZ database?

Yup, created a two league system with 40ish teams.

How does it work? Got any screenshots?

All local clubs e.g Glenfield, central etc; made the first division reputation around a-league standard; standard promotion/ relegation (3 teams each way); FA cup; Reserves and under 18's leagues.

I have no screenshots unfortunately.

I've tried making a NZ database but have found it quite difficult. Perhaps i just don't have the patience for it haha.

On FM10 I'm playing as the nix.

Chris Killen comes off contract at Boro in 5 months and I am trying to bag his signature. I don't have a Marquee and he is asking for $7750 per week - however the most my board will let me pay for him is $4500 per week.

Is there anyway I can get the board to let me pay him more? Looking around the league some players are being paid $20000+ for Marquee status, how can I make it so I can pay this much?

Ask the board for extra wage funds? Sell some players to get a bit of money into the club.

As the nix used a youth keeper from my squad as my back up keeper as he only costs $120. Newman's law says my first choice keeper will get injured days before the GF and he did so I have a youth keeper between the sticks :S

Just finished 2nd season as Phoenix manager.

Came 2nd in the regular season, lost major semi and made it back to the grand final but lost 2-0 to CCM.  Still not a bad season though and playing Asian Champs football which is cool!

Marco Rojas and Costa have been awesome, Rojas has big potential.  Also an Andy Rufer has started games at CB for me at just 16 years of age. 

I need to get some younger players in the squad.  Sucks with no youth or reserve team, squad is like 34 in size including youth players.

This sure is a fun game... time to trawl some players for transfer :D
