great game, just got it. started game with nix. going well. first game of season against newcastle paston opens the scoring lol, a beautiful free kick from over halfway.

In case anyone is interested, this is how my game has played out so far (might also spurn interest in those not sure if it's worth the dosh ). Before I started the game I did a wee bit of editing, Canterbury Dragons got an A-League license at the expense of Perth and did a wee bit of recruiting, although maintaining the core of the squad. Spoonley, Vicelich, Clapham and Barron were all brought in. Also the coach was sacked. I started to game and took control of NZ right from the off, hoping to be given a contract by Canterbury, sadly it was given to Stu Jacobs. Nevermind.

Wood, Clapham and Henderson are superstars.

For some reason the Phoenix and Dragons qualify for the O-League now rather than the Asian Cup, due to the editing I did. Phoenix qualified for the Club World Cup every year but never do well. Phoenix have signed on the following - GK, Danny Milosevic! ST, Christian Vieri!! and sold the following - Pason (Brighton), Greenacre (Luton), Brown (Shrewsbury), McKain (Al-Sadd, Qatar), Bertos (Palm Beach, QLD) and released Daniel and Sigmund, whilst Ifill has retired from all football. All the Dragons have done is signed Haliti, and have failed to make the playoffs every time.

OMFG. my season was going great with the nix. finished 3rd so had a home play off with 6th and was in some good form. this is when things started to go down hill. i go to select my team and change my tactics around. WHAT international call up? all my nz players have been called into the nz team. i didn't get a mail about it. and so i check nz there game isn't till 27th which is after the FINAL. stupid oceania cup. i want my players. so that leaves me with 4 defenders to play out the final series. not looking good

the game against Adelaide open the scoring early looking good then BANG red card to Diego on 28 minutes.. and Adelaide put 2 into the back of my net... i'm going out... surely but wait all push forward and get the goal were going to extra time. still a man down but looking ok
Players are nearly dying so make some subs, no goals so it to a shootout and with Crowther as my keeper and no backup wasn't so optimistic. but he comes through for me win the shootout 5-3

on to the next round, hoping for my players back but no, and now one of my mid-fielders is out suspended to so go into the Newcastle game a little down on hope
a disappointing crowd of 11k turns up
still with my 4 defenders we open the scoring beautifully to viduka before 2 quick goals to Newcastle and then a third. 1-3 heading to half time. on comes Greenacre. BANG BANG two goals from the legend with viduka missing a chance to win the game on the wistl whistle. so off to extra time again, and BANG BANG another two goals from Greenacre. were going to the next round yaaaaaaaay
But wait the drama continues.
change tactics to defensive and they come back and score two goals back to another shootout prevail 13-12
nerve raking stuff

finally the preliminary final and Mckain scores the one and only goal before getting sent off on full time, i appeal but to no avail.

So off to the final with only 3 defenders. decided to do a Ricky 3-4-3 and the team fought well but eventually went down 1-0

i cant believe i didn't have my players available and no warning....

oh forgot to mention had a penalty shout turned down to in the final. and then nutted at the ref after the game. got a fine from the FFA should of gone to extra time..
then i got told of by terry to :( told me to not get fines for complaining.

Completed first two seasons. Finished 2nd in both regular seasons but managed to win the finals series in my 2nd season. Currently in the quarters of the Asian cup. Chris James has been a magnificent signing, while Billy Celeski cant stop scoring. My young brazilian forward Nikao looks good for the future.

still no FM10 

Anyone sure when they are going to release the update with the January transfers?

So I've downloaded this patch.. I thought I had it up and running but started the game and nothing has changed. Can anyone tell me how to enable it on the game??

Which patch was it?

To use the transfer updates you need to start a new game. There will probably be a different database to load too.

There is no new database on that patch, it was just tweaks to the match engine and other little bugs. There is a second patch with database changes from late last year.

It's a torrent file, you need something like uTorrent or Azures to download it.

It's a torrent. You download the file for the torrent which is 12KB. Then you download it using some form of torrent software and it's actually around 2.4GB.

Currently loving the new game except one minor thing, it seems to take a lot more RAM to run these days which means i have to run less leagues etc. I started off trialing the new custom leagues by managing some team in Serie D, running 14 leagues across 7 countries, but the game was far too slow and unresponsive so i had to quit before i'd barely begun.

What does this patch do exactly?

The one I downloaded... Not a lot that I have noticed, when viewing the game, the teams logo comes up on the scoreboard which I don't think was there before (massive yays !!). Other than that, haven't really noticed anything.

So there is no transfer update yet?

It's an odd one. "Technically" it's ok to download torrents, however possessing the file you've downloaded is the sketchy part in this (and most other) case.

It isn't illegal until you open the file right?

Well you did ask for a link, i was gonna pm it to you but your box was full. Personally i don't see a problem with it. People use torrents etc. to download all sorts of stuff off the net all the time so what's the big deal?

Anything linking download of the actual game will get you a banstick.

Like HN said, the patch is ok, but the game in the torrent is copyright material. In saying that though, you can just select to only download the patch in that torrent.
