FM 10

Yeah... a lot of effort for leagues that can't be played.  I'm gradually adding more of it.

SOme Dunedin sides there, not Canterbury at this stage.

Why no Canterbury?

They're not trying to bring the game down a level. I did say top leagues.

New Zealand are ranked 26th in my game and England are 29th.

why can't i be nz and the nix at once? i accept the job and 2 days later iget offered it again

Nah i haxord it. Made a new manager and retired leaving the job open.

If NZ doesn't qualify for the world cup, does Ricki get sacked? That's what I'm hanging out for..

 

Ricki never seems to get sacked as the games are all easy for him.

Problem: I recently purchased FM 10 on PC but for some reason the drive is unable to even read the disk at all. Other games are read fine as does the demo which i can play without error.

Have you got a DVD-ROM drive? The game is a DVD rather than CD-ROM. Most people have them these days though...

 

 

Na I bought it and yeah it is a DVD-ROM drive.

Take it back to the shop, they can at least try it there to see if it works, or if you just have a badly produced disc.

Yeah it's a DVD Rom drive. I refunded but it still doesn't read, i'll try download on steam.

How do you access the data editor?

Start > Programs > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2010 > Tools > Editor.

Go to Programs > Steam > SteamApps > Sports Interactive if you installed using steam.

Football Manager is the best and most accurate in terms of actual football.
fifa manager has cool features like editing the stadium, a personal life (you can have a wife etc) and has more player photos I think. you can download player pics and logos for football manager

I prefer FM over Fifa

But does a real football manager usually have the ability to redesgin the staduim?

Only real advantage to FIFA Manager is you can found a new club anywhere in the world and be the owner, not just the manager.

In FM10, after my 3rd game in charge of AW's I lost 2-1 to Mexico, 5-0 to Cape Verde (WTF???) and drew 3-3 with Hondoras. I'm due to play Saudi Arabia in WC 2010 playoff,

what files/data updates/etc are people using with FM10 at the moment?

I really want an improved A-League data update, what can people suggest? Too many players and teams are horribly done  in the default database.

Also, any graphical (logos etc) updates or anything similar to help spice up the game that you recommend would be appreciated, thanks guys.

Just a quick question
When you create new leagues with the editor, can you use existing teams or do you create new ones? For example could you create a 'European Super league' which was mentioned previously with  just the best clubs in Europe? Thanks

sweet cheap deal!

been playing this non stop for the last week or so.....awesome game - Terry solf Mckain from under my feet, first season fnished 5th and lost to brisbane in the playoffs - struggling in the second season......

I've been playing a fair bit too. I did a bit of editing in which some slightly odd things happened. I added Canterbury Utd to the A-League and did some recruiting, then tried to start a game with HAL included but couldn't be cause the game "tried to find 10 teams but found 11", bugger no room for expansion, so now Canterbury have been granted a license to the demise of Perth Glory .

The other thing that happened is Canterbury were still set as a team from New Zealand playing in the HAL, so I changed the Nix to the same, after a full season the Nix who lost the major semi final, have qualified as the NZ based team in the O-League.

And just for interest sake, I firstly took control of NZ (lost 4-1 agg against Bahrain, won OFC Nations cup without loss and just beat Canada 1-0 in a friendly, and NZ are ranked 64th) and then got given a job at Dunfermline who were about to be relegated but I managed to get them mid table. Now just about to start second season and I have no transfer money available.

Can one opt out of a contract with their current club? Sick of managing Dumfermline. No transfer money and I'm $1200 wk over my wage budget and the team are very inconsistent. 

just don't confuse the "resign" button for the "retire" option - resign means that you leave your club, but can apply for jobs at other clubs without managers; retire literally ends that save game there and then (of course you could load up the save game again if needed...)

tried to give the nix the ultimatum last night to get more trasfer money - they sacked me, even though I was top of the league of this 2010 season.....bastards, thankfully I'd saved it......
