Kiwi Players Elsewhere

Siggy has been very good for us (Phoenix) in the past. He always seems to lead the entire league in intercepts, he always gives it everything, and he even chips in with vital goals. The stomp was really bad but just as bad and embarrassing is the amount of $hite he is getting on this forum for his past nix performances. He has deservedly been our mvp for the season before. I am a big fan of Boxall as well, but I would be a little wary before saying he has come on too much. IMO he looked better in the China game than at any stage since and struggled a bit last year.

Should we just rename this to be siggys thread and be done with it?

Totally agree with this, there isnt a player with a bigger heart at the Nix than Siggy and apart from last season( when all the team were pants) has been a consistent and valued member of the team

oops wrong thread...will do better next time

Assuming he plays against the Jets this weekend, the next home game will be Durante's 200th game for the Nix. Any plans to celebrate it?

We threw around a few ideas at Fever Towers yesterday. Interested in other thoughts though.

I forgot about that. Maybe not the best idea, seeing what it did to Burns last year... Almost as much of a curse as putting him on a tshirt

I'll be wearing my stripey with Durante 22 on the back in honour of his 200 games

I thought this was his 201st, with 200 being our last game? Hence my "200 +1 - A Durante Odessey" suggestion for a banner

Allegdly coming out of international retirement to play in the Nations Cup.

Ernie quoted on Radio Sport news saying that he understands that Durante is pretty positive about coming back to the national team.

Most likely a combination of all three playing in different matches to combat the schedule.

having to come out of retirement so that the part time kiwis (Smith and Reid) can go on a holiday during the offseason must be slightly annoying for him. He is a legend for stepping up, where those two have let us down (again).

Smith is always letting us down and lets be honest, he is only a championship player. Reid on the other hand is a proven EPL player whom has had a few knocks over the last year.

I think Reid should step up more but at least he does things to do with NZ.
