3rd for Forest has to be the goal now, with the "we are happy if we finish qualifying for Europe" as their second target.

If the bottom 3 had been more competitive this season you could have seen United and Spurs closer to relegation - which would have been so so sweet.

Feels so good to see Woodsy back on the scoresheet.

He may not reach 30 goals, but with five PL games to go, he just needs two more goals to break Viduka's record for most goals in a season by an Oceania player in the PL.

And the news- with a Kiwi spearheading a brutal fight for the Champion’s league, the two main sports stories are a Black Fern is out of retirement and Liam Lawson lost his car keys because his mum does his washing. Thanks RNZ!

7 headed goals in the EPL this season. Now has 30 headed EPL goals in total, which has him 5th.

Crouch and Kane both 40, Benteke (33), and  Giroud (32)

He sits fourth on the golden boot standings, behind Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, who has 27 and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, who both have 21.

Every chance he gets to 20+, could pass Haarland who is injured at the moment (still out for 2-3 weeks).

Huge goal for Wood and for Forest as it turns out, with Tottenham scoring late on. Would absolutely love to see him get a late winner at some point between now and the end of the season, in either the league or the FA cup. Big game this weekend!

Wood has 30 headed goals in the PL now, 10 behind Kane and Crouch who lead the all time list at 40.

If he gets to 34, he would be 3rd top headed goalscorer of all time (currently 5th).

Another 6 or 7 so winners would be fine with me!
With the result against Everton (and against Villa of course) Forest have made this very tough going.

Great news, it is his year for sure

Sadly no FA Cup final for the Woodsman.

Forest lose 2-0. Wood off at 71 mins for Awoniyi (2-0).

The closest a Kiwi has been to the big game at Wembley, since Nellie's Blackburn lost in the semis to Chelsea (ET 2-1) in 2007.

Forest now down to 6th in the EPL but with a game in hand, next host Brentford in a must win.

Boo. Stink.
Defo had their chances. Though I’m not sure if the Woodsman had any of them fall to him.

Ria Percival (in 2019 with West Ham) remains the only Kiwi footballer to play in a FA Cup final.

https://www.nzfootball.co.nz/newsarticle/76407#:~:text=No%20other%20New%20Zealander%20has,realm%20and%20a%20wider%20sense.

Technically Ria was the first to play in a "Fa Cup final at Wembley".  with the emphasis on "at Wembley" .  Two other women have played in earlier FA Cup finals at smaller venues.

Then there is also the case of Ben Chilwell in the Crystal Palace squad making his second final.  That would have made a great newspaper story angle if Forest had won and made it a Forest v Palace final with NZ interest in both sides.

Bad day for Forest losing 0-2. Full game Wood.

Forest stay 6th (Europa League spot), but Aston Villa (7th) are only 3 points behind.

Next for NF is a trip to FA finalists Palace.

three of their next four should be winnaable.
Palace away
Leicester home
west ham away and then
Chelsea home

Nest three against teams in the bottom half of the table, one already relegated and the other just avoiding it

Woodsman a full game in a 1-1 draw.
Testy affair. 8 yellows to Forest players. 3 for Palace.

Final 3 games for Forest (6th) are Leicester City (H), West Ham United (A) and Chelsea (H)

Murillo off with a hamstring is not what Forest want.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Still in Forest's hands with that home game against Chelsea on the final day but no more room for error.

Edit: also helps that Newcastle play Chelsea next, rivals will be dropping points

One goal in 8 for Wood, coinciding with the wheels falling off a little bit for Forest. Both Wood and Forest have had a great two-thirds of a season, but the wobble is well and truly on. Hopefully they can get back on track.

Should have won a penalty. Amazing how referees are so reluctant to pull players up for man handling in the box nowadays compared to 5 years ago. Gone too far back to old school.

Unlucky imo. Another day he might have got an assist and a goal.
Put Elanga into space nicely, though still quite a difficult chance, and took a reasonable option through the defenders legs which was close to working, but took a deflection for a corner, not a goal.

Still he looked reasonably sharp and Palace just battered Villa and drew with Arsenal and Bournemouth, so definitely no shame in getting a point.

I’m hoping they can win their last 3.

And yum yum yum!
Tucks away a tasty early cross from Gibbs-White. 2-1 Forest. 20 goals the Woodsman. ( 2 in his last ten. Sssh)

Forest fans want this put beyond doubt. A clear must win.

Forest gotta be careful here. They’ve let Leicester in once.

Dbl.

Eck. Oh well after my season long FF anti-jinx of not selecting him, I bloody selected and captained him today!

But not a good day for Forest, making Leicester look good and only drawing 2-2. They’ve just looked out on their feet for a while now. Going through the motions, compared to the resolute team of earlier in the season.

Europe confirmed. But Champions League now relies on other results.

Forest still only need to win their last two and for Villa to fail to win one of their final two games. But hard to see Forest winning out with the form they are in.

Gotta think they'll be targeting the hammers as a must win, Chelsea will be tougher.

Villa have Spurs and ManU, so they might have the tougher tun in.

Villa and Chelsea both have a tough-ish last two games - though Man U are unpredictable as their heads will be in Bilbao next weekend and then on holiday (or hungover) the following.

In the hypothetical scenario where all of the higher-placed teams win next weekend (i.e. Villa beat Tottenham, Chelsea beat Man U, Forest beat West Ham and Arsenal beat Newcastle) then the teams between 4th and 7th will only be separated by a point going into the final day. If City lose to Bournemouth (not impossible) then throw them in that bunch too and it's 3rd to 7th.

Closing in on Giroud & Benteke. Overtaking Crouch & Kane maybe too big an ask with his 1+1 Forest deal. Would be a great record to have

What a great achievement - the magic number of 20 premiership goals within a season!!

Auckland will rise once more

Is it that hard for him to get to 40 though. As you said he has 8 so far this season with a 1+1 5 each season and he is there. 😁

He’ll need to have a good next season to trigger that 2nd season option by Forest. He will be 34.5 yrs old by then. Getting on for an EPL striker. Nothing is guaranteed

But for sure would be great for a Kiwi to have an EPL record like that.
