Mate your laughable. It's only for two games so Herbert can have a look for say 15 mins. What's the harm?

Dear Ricki,

I have a great player, one of huge potential who you should take a really close look at. A greater passer of the ball, only i have to warn you, he's had three knee operations in the last 18 months and is yet to play professionally... but he did go to an IVY League school.

What do you say, lets give him an international cap.

I'm laughable... the selection speaks of a team desperate for players to make up numbers or find that unhidden gem. NZ is a much stronger football nation now than ever and does not need to make itself look like a little weak nation in the middle of nowhere struggling to find quality players.

Give him a shot once he proves he's fit again... what happens if he gets injured again playing for us. How much patience can his club have??

Not a great level, yes, but atleast he's been playing and also, we have a lot less depth at right back than we do in midfield.

So not really comparable.

And i seriously hope he does well, comes through it unscathed and pushes on to club level.

I will support him, just as i would any NZ player, but he shouldn't of been picked.

El we have depth,

The following can play out wide - McG, Bertos, Barb, Marcos and Brockie (clapham)
In the middle - Vicelich, Mulligan, Clapham, Elliot, Brown, Christie, Keat

Not great depth, but when compared to RB where we have Fitzgerald and thats it really except fill ins.

Well, we have players we can put to play there. We also have a few player we can put on at right back too.

But don't think that qualifies as depth.

Only 3 games remaining in this year's season and still no appearance for Henderson who just appeared once as a substitute and since then is on the injured list...
For now, Mjallby are 4 points away from relegation spot

Henderson is back from injury and appeared as a unused substitute (was wearing number 19) in a 2-1 away win for Mjallby. The last game of the season is the next week end and hopefully craig can get his first minutes as a professionnal in the Allsvenskan.

At Dartmouth, Mkosanas ability to read other players, combined with his speed, has allowed him to appear at the right place at the right time and coolly take control of the ball. Past teammates with whom he connected particularly well include Craig Henderson 09, Dan Keat 10 and Maarten van Ess 12, Mkosana said.

Maarten and I had a great connection because hes so tall and hes really good in the air, so he can get the ball to me, Mkosana said.

Both Henderson and Keat have each had their own experiences with the combine while Henderson declined to attend the event and instead signed with Mjallby AIF in Sweden, Keat participated and was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS Supplemental Draft in 2011, making him a potential future opponent for Mkosana.

Prior to this years combine, Keat gave Mkosana advice on how to approach and handle the event, while Henderson also sent him an email wishing him luck, Mkosana said.

That really means a lot to me that they are still supporting me, even though we no longer play together, he said.

Apparently craig made a good impression in the second half of mjallby friendly vs brondby

Mjllby AIF lost yesterday's friendly match in Copenhagen against Brondby 2-0. The Danes were superior in the first half and did then scored two goals, one from a penalty.

Mjallby started with a reserve accentuated the presentation and in the second period it became the game better. Injury Sufferers nyazeelndaren Craig Henderson was responsible for a good understudy after the break.

In Brndby played including former landslagsbacken Mikael Nilsson from the start.

The next practice game for Mjllby is away against tvidaberg February 4.

Craig won't start tomorow's game:
Tomorrow takes Mjllby AIF an Mamo FF on Asaums IP 15.00.

Mjallby AIFs first team last played on Saturday against Osters IF in a match of mixed quality.
The match is a good test case for Mjllbys part of a Malm that come to Blekinge with a renowned squad despite a few setback. According to Malm FF's official website set MFF up with the following teams:

Johan Dahlin
Miiko Albornoz - Pontus Jansson - Markus Halsti - Ricardinho
Jiloan Hamad - Amin Naziri - Erik Friberg - Jimmy Durmaz
Daniel Larsson - Mattias Ranegie

Malmo FF Earlier this year, been in the U.S. combined match / training camp where they played against the Columbus Crew and DC United.
The match against DC United was a draw, 1-1. MFF then won the match against Columbus Crew 2-1.
Mjllby AIF will therefore Malm's first Swedish opposition for years.

Crosswords have met before Brndby IF in a match that ended with a loss, 2-0. They then went to tvidaberg to meet AFF in the icy cold and lost with 1-0.
Last game against sters took his first win and also did his first goal for the year by Simon Nilsson.
It is certainly proper eager to expand mlskrden bit and the following line-up given the chance:

Mattias Asper
Mahmut zen - Daniel Ivanovski - Patrik Rosengren - William Leandersson
Haris Radetinac - Dominique Kivuvu - Daniel Nilsson - Simon Nilsson
Marcus Ekenberg - Marcus Pode

The match is played, as I said in Asarum IP just outside Karlshamn. For guests from California: http://www.hitta.se/ViewDetailsPink.aspx?Vkiid=25K1fOapNmM% 253d & what = Asarum + IP

An interesting article about Henderson with Mjallby. Btw if somebody understands swedish, there are 2 audio links for the full interview in Cyprus

Craig Henderson from New Zealand came to Mjllby two years ago with a dream of playing Premier Division football. This dream was soon shattered by the injuries that never seemed to give up. This season, perhaps the dream come true - but the path has been difficult. Reporter Daniel Kjellander
Monday, March 12, 2012, at 22:07 (News P4 Blekinge) More about Mjllby and training camp in Cyprus can be found here

- The worst two years of my life, says Craig Henderson.

24-year-old Henderson played in an American university teams when Mjallby started listening to him.

A really good player it was said, and he was soon up to date to play the World Cup with the New Zealand national team.

Worst years
But at the training camp in Cyprus two years ago began the injury misery when he stepped wrong.

- They have undoubtedly been the two worst years of my life. If you are a footballer you want to be on the pitch, says Craig Henderson.

Damage to injury
Those doctors first thought was "just" a damaged meniscus was also was a damaged cruciate ligament.

After surgery waiting rehab training in the United States, where he also had his girlfriend for support. It seemed to go well but then came a new injury, and since then there have been years of damage to the injury.

Nothing like
Mats Book that is in charge of rehabilitation in Mjllby During his 14 years at the club never experienced anything like it.

- No one has had so many setbacks and so long as Craig. But he has really put a lot of work to come back, says Mats Book, hoping that things will go the way now.

Always be brittle
Rehab Trainer Mats Book says Craig Henderson will be brittle rest of his career even though he is only 24 years old.

The reason is that when the ligament was the doctor took a portion of one thigh and made a new ligament. He dumps that Henderson might be able to play about one-third of the season's games if he settles into the team.

"Fight for the starting line-up"
Craig Henderson himself is now hoping he can finally show what he can after two years of injury misery, and hopefully take a place in the starting line and show Mjllby that they made the right who supported him during these two years have passed.

- I want to be healthy and long fight for a spot in the starting eleven and now play in the Premier League, says Craig Henderson.

He isn't in the group of players chosen for tomorrow's first game of the season.

Landslagsmannen from New Zealand, Craig Henderson, has not played a competitive match for Mjallby in just over two years.

- He has been in progress and hit by small setbacks. We still hope that he will make some games for us, says Mats Book.

On the AW's squad announced,it was mentionned:

Not considered due to injury: Simon ELLIOTT, Craig HENDERSON

Does that mean that if fit Henderson would have been an automatic selection? Also I thought that with his new responsabilities at chivas, Elliott has retired: is that possible that he could return to play soon??

At last Craig Henderson played half an hour in a friendly game vs syrianska. Next league game will be next saturday and hopefully henderson can play his first minutes as a professionnal, especially that it's his last year contrat thi season

Training game between Syrianska FC and Mjällby AIF that was played on neutral ground in the Jönköping ended with victory for Södertälje team. Scored only goal was made after about 25 minutes played.

After the match said Mjallby AIFs coach, Daniel Antonsson like this:

"- It was a fairly even match. 1-0 they did in the 25th game minutes. Pär Ericsson had a few chances in the first half as he might have. In rest, we made two changes, it was the Oak, which replaced Par and Cederberg replaced Wikstrom. Further any changes made ??during the second half, Craig Hendersen replaced Nicklasson and Samuel Petrone replaced Haris. Towards the end of the match was Dominique a bang that made him gave way to Hari who had to jump in again. Slap that Dominique got was okay, he will be able to play as usual next weekend. In the second half, we lose a little focus because of some strange judgments. But like I said ... It was a still gathering. "

The team:
Asper

Ivan
Wikström / Cederberg 45 '
Bagarn / Gbenga 75 '
Agardius

Haris / Sam 75 '
Daniel N
Kivuvu
Nicklasson / Craig 65 '

Fullerton
Pearl / Oak 45 '

Henderson still failing to make the squad - absent in 0-2 home loss to Norrkoping last weekend.

Reference on this Mjallby site to his contract not being renewed for next season - which seems inevitable now...

Not sure if this is official or someone's prediction of what will happen (due to the translation):

http://translate.google.co.nz/translate?hl=en&sl=sv&u=http://klacksparken.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dcraig%2Bhenderson%2Bmjallby%2Baif%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26qscrl%3D1%26nord%3D1%26rlz%3D1T4GGHP_enNZ433NZ433%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D580%26prmd%3Dimvnso&sa=X&ei=vAL3T7uiA_GViAeviKGFBw&ved=0CGAQ7gEwCTgU

"Craig Henderson - not offered new contract - the player leaves the 30 November 2012."

The general feeling seems to be he's not good enough for the Swedish Premier Lge, even when fit:

Journalist:

  • "I argue that Craig Henderson is not good enough.

There have been some injury-free periods during this long time, but then, he has never been anywhere near the starting line-up."

But on a positive note, he is apparently fit again:

http://translate.google.co.nz/translate?hl=en&sl=sv&u=http://klacksparken.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dcraig%2Bhenderson%2Bmjallby%2Baif%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26qscrl%3D1%26nord%3D1%26rlz%3D1T4GGHP_enNZ433NZ433%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D580%26prmd%3Dimvnso&sa=X&ei=vAL3T7uiA_GViAeviKGFBw&ved=0CGAQ7gEwCTgU

WELCOME BACK CRAIG HENDERSON !

 by Fredrik Persson 17/6/12

Craig Henderson.  Photo: Klacksparken.com.

The contract was signed on a frostbitten night in December 2009, the agreement involved three common years and the prospect of a gold-edged collaboration.

Mjällby's club management patted his diamond with a gentle hand and painted visions that rang sweetly in all supporters' ears.

The player, named by his nation for the preparatory camp for the World Cup finals in South Africa in 2010, would carry Mjällbys midfield in the premier league return.

Injuries, miseries and setbacks, however, were a permanent feature of his life and resulted in no play,  neither in the World Cup or in Mjällby AIF.

Not the summer of 2010, not the summer of 2011 and not in spring 2012.

Now that the 25th anniversary approaches (next Sunday), his long contract only has shards left (contract expires October 31).

There is still a long time, it's the uncertainty that has characterized the player that detractors termed Jesus - "everyone talks about him, but nobody has seen him. "

No one has seen him. Up to now.

Until a summer mini-tournament with a premier division team in sunny greenery at Brunn Vallen in Ronneby.

It was a few seconds over 16 yesterday when the kick-off took place between Mjallby and Kalmar.

It was early afternoon when the first raid of the shirt number 19 took place.

After torn cruciate ligament, mysterious foot injury, repeated setbacks, failed rehab and misery, he did finally debut in yellow and black.

Craig Henderson smiled broadly as he held up the midfield for 45 minutes in the meeting to Kalmar (match ended 0-0, Mjallby won the Cup after the 1-0 in the end against Everton).

Two years ago he would have been an important hub in New Zealand's midfield in the World Cup finals.

Now he smiles happily at the opening of a training match against Hockeyallsvenskan resistance for the club he belonged to since December 2009 without having reached a single minute of playing time in the first team.

Now it's about joy again for 24-year-old who has played 20 internationals for his nation in the U20-and U23-vintages.

Now it's about joy again for 24-year-old, who was handpicked by Mjallby following recommendations (former Mjällby player Johan Cedergren) from the U.S., where Craig Henderson represented Dartmouth College.

Now it's about joy and a comeback at a time when Mjällbys midfield bursting at the seams.

At a time when Pavel Zavadil (Czech Brno) is lost, where Dominique Kivuvu learn trample another football ground in August and where Simon Nilsson pulled on an uncertain harm in vänsterknä (injured against Kalmar, initial reports speak of a damaged ligament).

At a time when every new tile in the midfield is very welcome.

Craig Henderson showed last winter, the best test results ever in the Blekinge Institute of Health Training Centre Arena, Karlskrona.

With the mask over his mouth, harness around the upper body, black shorts and barefoot in the white adidas, then ran Craig Henderson maxlöpningar on the treadmill like no teammate done before.

"The best I've ever seen!" Exclaimed fysansvarige Miro Zalar, who performed the tests.

Miro Zalar told that in and of itself is common for long-term injured players may be an extreme physics because they spend all your time on physical training (injuries preclude any other exercise), but this was something extraordinary.

Craig Henderson has proven all the values ??in the top when he seriously mark their interest to compete for one of four locations on Mjällbys midfield in the 18 remaining Premier Division data.

On Sunday, he blows with his neighbor Samuel Petrone out the 25 candles in a birthday cake.

Barely a week later - on Saturday, June 30 - can the Premier Division debut to be a fact for the player who is so keen to show fans why Mjällbys club management pounced on him one winter's night for two and a half years ago and sent an 36-month contract.

Craig Henderson is back.

Jersey number 19 is no longer fragile, battered and marked by injuries (Flemming Pehrson 1980, Craig Henderson 2010).

Jersey number 19 can brighten Mjällby AIF's autumn 2012 as it did in 1979 (Flemming Pehrson...)

Jersey number 19 is back after years of rehab workouts.

Welcome back – Craig Henderson!

Definitely looking brighter for him now, with a few months of the season left to prove himself, if he stays fit.

Let's hope he kicks on for the All Whites' sake too - although a recall is a long way off right now...

This from a seasoned Mjalby journalist making positive noises about Henderson indicating in training he could be the answer to their central midfield problems (from what I can make of the translation anyway):

CRAIG HENDERSON DEBUTS ON SUNDAY

It was an exercise that revealed Peter Swärdhs innermost thoughts.

Mjällby AIF's Thursday training showed clearly how the coaching staff will handle the closures of Haris Radetinac and Daniel Nilsson in the encounter against IFK Gothenburg on Sunday.

Craig Henderson enters centrally and form innermittfält the future.

After two and a half years with injuries that ruined any possibility of games in the first team, so now get the national team qualified midfielder from New Zealand to show why he was current World Cup two summers ago.

By Craig Henderson and the Future of the central positions, then Viktor Agardius to play on the left and Daniel Nicklasson on the right side of midfield...

Now Mjallby hoping for another match winner.

Why not be the player who last winter had by far the best test values ??during the grueling endurance workouts at Blekinge Institute of Health Arena in Karlskrona - Craig Henderson.

Many have waited a long time on his debut in the yellow and black jersey and now it is only hours away.

Thursday's exercise was revealing: Craig Henderson solve the midfield problem.

Tonight, he put the leased Volvo safely and securely with Ask & Embla as gray concrete witnesses.

Then he can sleep easy (the neighbor Sam Petrone is on the Island ...) with the knowledge that his debut in Mjällby AIF is stumbling close.

4-2 loss to Gothenburg: Unlucky to lose by two with last two Gothenburg goals in last five minutes.

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS (15 MIN): Henderson narrowly wide with good flying header from edge of box at 2.12 in footage:

Notable for third fastest goal in history of Swedish top flight with a Gothenburg player scoring after 11 seconds!

"Allsvenskan third fastest hit after 11 seconds by Daniel Sobralense. (Jonas Henriksson scoreded in 2010 after 8 seconds and the record is Daniel Mendes who was 1-0 for Kalmar FF against Helsingborg IF May 16, 2010)."
