Valour (5th) with a 1-0 win to sit 2 points off 4th (playoff spots).

Dyer will miss the next game after getting a 2nd yellow late in the 99th min, and getting sent off.

Dyer missing (after his red card last game) in a 1-0 win over Forge (3rd).
Valour go up to 4th for now.

No Dyer in match day squad in a 1-1 draw.

Ollie Bassett (ex Tee Dubbs) with goal for Ottawa. He was replaced in 87th min by Canuck Kiwi Ben McKendry.

Bassett's 8th goal of the season, making him the league's 6th leading scorer. Dyer with 9 goals is 5th.

Bassett's goal was an Olimpico as well, straight from the corner.

Bevan on in the 56th min (1-1) in a 2-1 win for his Cavalry

No Dyer for Valour

Loss means unfortunately Valour miss the playoffs with 1 round left. Cavalry (3rd on GD) could yet finish regular season in 2nd spot

Valour lose 3-1. No Dyer in match day squad so bit of a damp squid finish to season for him.

Dyer 21 games (20 starts) with 9 goals. Is a 28 game season.
5th on league's Golden boot charts. Ollie Bassett on 8 goals.

Reports are that Moses Dyer is about to sign with a USL club to ply his trade in the US second tier

And his departure from Valour has just been announced... wonder where he'll end up. MLS gotta be the ultimate goal

You'd think he'd need to get a Green Card (so be treated as a domestic/local) to have any chance of a MLS deal.

But a couple of years in the USL, and if he's as successfull there as the CPL - you never know.

Likely to be USL at this stage though?
Would be incredible if he could crack the MLS coming from the National League, NPL & Norwegian 2nd tiers before his very profitable return in Canada.

🇨🇦 Valour FC ➡️ FC Tulsa 🇺🇲

Mods, you know what to do.

From the FC Tulsa website; Looks like a two year deal from what I can gather.

TULSA – FC Tulsa has bolstered its attack with some new firepower in the form of the Canadian Premier League’s second-leading scorer over the past two seasons. The club has signed 25-year-old striker Moses Dyer to its 2023 roster, pending league and federation approval.

A native of New Zealand, Dyer joins FC Tulsa on the heels of back-to-back nine goal seasons with Valour FC in which he provided six assists to pair with his 18 goals. Dyer initially signed with Valour in 2020 and played all three seasons alongside full-back Brett Levis whom FC Tulsa previously added this offseason. He departs Valour FC as the club’s all-time leading scorer.

“What sets Moses apart is his ability to link up,” said FC Tulsa head coach Blair Gavin. “He’s someone who is very comfortable picking up the ball between the lines and has the vision to play the final pass. He’s someone we will be able to play into and force the center-backs to make a decision, and during that time, we’re hoping to have the solution much faster than they are, whether it’s an assist through the last line to a winger or Moses turning and scoring.”

On the international stage, Dyer has capped 11 times and scored for New Zealand’s senior squad across World Cup Qualifying and Intercontinental Cup play in addition to International Friendlies. At the youth level, Dyer appeared four times for New Zealand’s U-23 side and 15 times for its U-20 side, including four starts in the U-20 World Cup in 2017 where he captained the squad twice. Dyer has three international goals to his credit at the youth level.

“There’s so many unknowns coming into a new team and new country, so I’m looking forward to meeting the boys and getting started,” said Dyer. “I can’t wait to give the fans something enjoyable to watch by winning games and scoring goals.”

Dyer kicked off his career in 2014 as a 17-year-old with his hometown club Wanderers SC in Auckland, New Zealand. He then signed with Eastern Suburbs AFC in 2016 where he spent two seasons before moving to Norway to play for Florö SK. With Florö, Dyer netted nine goals across all competitions in 27 appearances.

Dyer becomes the third forward announced by FC Tulsa to its 2023 front thus far alongside goalscorers Marcus Epps and Darío Suárez.

FC Tulsa 2023 Roster:
Goalkeepers: Austin Wormell
Defenders: Bradley Bourgeois, Jorge Corrales, Adrián Diz Pe, Brett Levis, Justin Malou
Midfielders: Eric Bird, Rodrigo da Costa, Collin Fernandez, Blaine Ferri, Luca Sowinski
Forwards: Moses Dyer, Marcus Epps, Darío Suárez

Club debut in the starting XI as Tulsa travel to Miami on Matchday 1 of the new USL Championship season.

Currently 1-1 just over half an hour gone.

Subbed after 64' in what turned out to be a relatively quiet debut for his Tulsa FC side as it finished 1-1 in Miami.

Dyer 80 mins in a 3-2 loss. Tulsa actually up 2-1 when he came off.
Playing as the lone striker.

Dyer starting.

Edit - Dyer off at 70 mins (2-0) in a 3-0. Playing as the lone striker.

Dyer starting as is 25 yr old Liam Rose for El Paso. I know John Hutchinson (so a CCM connection) was in charge of El Paso last season in the USL. But bit of an odd choice for Rose, playing in the USL for a US/Mexican border town club.

He'd still be good & young enough for the ALM??

Edit - 1-1 at HT. Dyer with the assist for Tulsa's goal.
Edit 2 - Tulsa lose 1-2. Dyer a full game.

Well done. Glad to see someone’s checking me!

And well done Dyer, goal (his first in the USL) plus an assist

Glad to see Dyer doing well. USL has got to be as decent a level as the Irish league surely?

Hoped he can kick on and perhaps work his way into MLS contention. Good signs for his mentality to have gone from Canadian league to the USL and to be scoring late.

Or perhaps back home for the Nix?
Though to answer the Rose question above- it must be a massive adventure to be able to ply your trade in such an exotic location for an Aussie or a Kiwi. Once you’re stateside heading home is possible a bit of a letdown.

I think Dyer will need to get his Green Card to get anywhere the MLS, ie then a non visa player. I think someone suggested a guy like him maybe a good squad signing for new Auckland ALM team.

Re Liam Rose. I guess I had a vision of El Paso as being some short of dusty hot sharkhole from watching Narcos Mexico! Basically being right across the border from Ciudad Juárez which does sound like a genuine dangerous sharkhole. Ravaged by violence in the Mexican Drug War.

But Wiki says I'm wrong about EP.

El Paso is a five-time All-America City Award winner, winning in 1969, 2010, 2018, 2020, and 2021,[18] and Congressional Quarterly ranked it in the top-three safest large cities in the United States between 1997 and 2014,[19] including holding the title of safest city between 2011 and 2014.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the mix for either the AWs squad or the Nix. Seems like he’s quite strong on the ball. Quite reasonable vision as well with his passing. He could end up like Musa, a guy who’s managed a good career without ever quite making the big time. I think he’s got room for growth or honing with good coaching and regular game time.

I do think he seems to have something a little bit different to Mata, Greive and Waine in terms of bench impact and also in terms of replacing a role Wood might be playing. Seems a bigger goal threat than say a player like de Jong who’s had quite a few recent chances.

I know most of the coverage he gets is chucked in with the USL thread. But I thought this one was worthy of being put in his own thread.

Great heads up play, and fantastic delivery from Dyer for the assist on that one. You dream of running onto those ones as a striker.

After leaving Tulsa FC days before their USL Championship opener, it appears Moses Dyer is rumoured to be returning North of the border to the Canadian Premier League.

https://northerntribune.ca/canadian-premier-league-moses-dyer/

Article very vague on detail, but it appears that despite signing a contract extension only recently for Tulsa, it was the change in manager in Oklahoma that resulted in him leaving the States.

Guess we wait and see what happens from here. Can't be too far from an announcement with the Canadian season starting next month.
