Yeah, I don't think character assassinations are necessary - it's likely he was dropped, didn't really like that, looked for other deals, found a better deal and now he doesn't really care about this season.

He wouldn't be the first footballer who has acted this way.

I have no problem with that position at all and think again (and its happening far too much for my liking) I agree with you..

That being said if he does not care about the season i.e. attitude, then as coach, you move him to position 23. Professionals see the job out to the end because they are being paid to do so. Look at Brockie as a shining example. Its also not a character assassination at all in my opinion. I met Boyd once with my grandson and he was very polite with him etc but are we talking about all the stuff he does with the fans and the community or are we talking about what he does with the team. Ahmad Elrich was reported to be a stand  hold up guy but how was his attitude when it came to football and the team?

Unfortunately with some things, perception is reality.

FTR, I saw Tyler Boyd down at Wakefield Park practising shooting as I was running past earlier today. To score two goals like that and then still do extra training sessions makes me think he will go a long way.

Being left out last week from both Nix's and WeeNix's games (Not even on the bench) you would have to think Boyd might be misbehaving a little.

Or he was overseas signing a contract?

Sure he's dedicated to improving himself, that doesn't mean he's necessarily a team guy off the pitch.

I think it should be 'on the pitch'.

I thought it was interesting people questioning his attitude, or lack there of, when we have first hand evidence on the contrary.

No he was seen on TV watching the game in the stands sitting with a few WeeNix's players waving the Burns mask. That's why I find it strange he'd been dumped from both games. Unless you mean he was not training (oversea's?)but then again people seen him at training so?? Shark knows.

I wish him all the best. I was hoping he'd really make it here. I don't know what was going on behind the scenes but he should do fine in Portugal and hopefully we wont regret losing him. However, in Ernie I trust and hope we can refind the early season form.

Yeah, he sounds a bit different, but I agree with you mjp2.

Good on the boy for going yes, he's a bit strange but so are a lot of young players and when you've had Edge in your ear for years that's understandable,I would be  more concerned about Ernie and his player retention are these the very reason that both the Victory and Hong Kong moved him on.

Again, there's more than one aspect of attitude.

Boyd was at a 50 Shades (50 shades!) screening while the game was on. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Well I was actually watching the game. Something he probably should have been doing.

So the rule that allows/disallow 4 x U21 players in the ASB prem side has stopped him from playing for the Weenixs. It kind a makes sense.

Not watching the game and his choice of movie leads me to the conclusion that Tyler Boyd is a massive wanker :-) but seriously bit of a dick move

I hear that if you know where to look and understand some special tech tricks that you can actually see videos on the internet, for free, of people having sex. Obviously word about this hasn't got around because heaps of people are still going to that film and it surely isn't for the plot.

Just to remind everyone: 50 Shades is "Twilight" fanfic with the names changes, and remember how much the original sucked. The 2002 film Secretary has the same plot, much better actors and is funnier.

Did he play Saturday? I read shermy and Appiah-Cubi did. Apparently he did not play last week as someone said he had a Burns mask on.

But no, apparently we are all wrong.

he'd rather watch 50 shades than his teammates play in a crucial away game.
