On November 18, 2010, the FIFA Ethics Committee cleared me of all corruption charges but

decided my suspension for one year beginning on October 20, 2010, for charges which

nature and grounds I still ignore.

Since then, I am waiting for a reasoned decision in order to exercise my right to appeal

Despite pressures and issues at stake for the OFC, I decided not to waive this fundamental

right to restore my honor, dignity and integrity following the calumnious accusations I

suffered from the Sunday Times.

I don't know why him basically resigning from his position, which allows Chung to replace him as head of OFC, will stop him from appealing the decision through an independent organisation like the CAS.

The OFC could just reinstate him at a later date if he wants.

We need to find some loopholes that would please both the OFC and Temarii.

This whole thing has me absolutely seething and I'd be even madder if I was Australian. Fifa is a joke and corrupt to the very core. Despite Australia being in no way party to the actions of Temarii they could lose the hosting rights despite their bid being arguably the best. Oceania is to be disenfranchised despite also being in no way party to the actions of Temarii (as far as anyone is aware). The politics and back room agreements sicken me considering so much is at stake.

I just hope come the voting common sense prevails. I think it would stink if the hosting rights went to a country which has hosted the event in the last 20 years but rubbed the right backs the right way, rather than the countries which promise the best event. Argh!

It's a crock of a system that's for sure.

Wouldn't be surprised if one of australias rivals set him up just so he would appeal the decision then lose his vote.

It certainly encourages such behaviour in the future.

Perhaps the answer is to bring similar cases up against all those who aren't likely to vote for Aussie, which they would then have to appeal, not be able to vote, and aussie wins the bid 1-0

This is poor from Temarri I think. He is there representing Oceania, not himself. He has to do what is best by Oceania and forget about the personal consequences. Kick in the teeth for the Aussies whatever happens.
Absolutely 100% agree.

This guy is a joke. He is elected to represent Oceania. Now he is acting against Oceania. I hope he is dumped next Oceania elections. I saw the original news footage.....he did suggest that if a football facility was built in Auckland by another bidder then that might change his vote. This is illegal. He also broke confidentialty rules by saying Oceania would vote for Australia. He is a clown...we don;t need people like him running our football.

FiFA's rules also suck. The vote should be from the Federation....not the man. Surely Oceanias vote could be deliverd by anyone from the Oceania executive. After all it was a collective agreement from all the assembled Oceania nations that decided who the vote would go to, not Temara himself.

I am gutted for Australia....but also for NZ. A WC in Australia would have massive spinoffs for NZ football and the whole tourism business. We would get WC teams coming to train and play friendlies pre cup. Plus we all could have easy access to games.

This whole thing leaves a very sour taste.

I'm going to wait until after the decision before I start really flipping out. Here's hoping for good news tomorrow.

If australia lose it he'd better have plans to move to the other side of the world. I don't think he'd be very welcome round these parts somehow...

He wouldn't be coming around to mine for dinner, that's for sure. Neither would Sepp, might I add.

Interesting news from the Sydney Morning Herald. Mr Temarii was in Kuala Lumpa where it is speculated he had a meeting with non other than Mr Bin Hamman, the chief of Asia football.....who also is a big supporter of Quatar's bid.
Before then Temarii was not going to appeal......now he is and Australia loses Oceania's vote. So why did Temarii change his mind???? Lots of people had lots to gain from Oceania losing its vote.
This whole thing stinks....it reeks of corruption.

There is way to much power by the Confederation heads....which opens them up to bribery and corruption. The whole voting system needs to change. Oceania wanted to vote for Australia and this right has been taken off them by a FIFA technicality concerning one Oceania official.

I'm going to go as far as saying he is a crook. I'm in no doubt that he has taken a backhander from Bin Hamman [who is from Qatar I believe] to mount the appeal and keep Oceania out of the vote. I also say that he was wanting to take a bribe from the undercover newsman as well. Firstly, if he wasn't bent, why did he agree to meet the guy in the first place [you try and get a meeting with the head of the NZRFU and see how far you get]. Get the guy to pay 10 million bucks for an academy and pocket 8 mill of it himself and Bob's your uncle.

You are right about Bin Hamman, he was born in Qatar.
It is no surprise that he is not supporting Australia.

Qatar seem to be the favourites, but according to their bid, the average temp. between 6 & 10pm is about 32 plus.
Not sure that there will too many countries happy to play in those conditions.
