Three for me, and two for them.

Pats down by 4, going into the 4th quarter. Hope they can win this.

Lets go Ravens! Looks like some drops and penalties may cost us, but this is far closer than it was expected to be

Big turnover there.

Screw Lee Evans. And Billy Cundiff.

Boldin and Flacco were terrific, but two chokers cost us a place in the Superbowl :(

lol Billy Cundiff really f**ked up big time ahahahahah.. so much for being a pro bowl kicker ! But boy I hate the Pats. Wanted a Ravens v 49ers super bowl, but that aint happening.

If I was a neutral, this would have been an awesome game, like Saints v 49ers. Instead, I am despairing. No watching for me on Waitangi Day

I haven't missed a Superbowl in the last decade, but if it turned out to be Flacco v Smith I'd have bailed. Pleased with the outcome of the two games today, even though the loss from last week still hurts.

Is the NFL Probowl the most ridiculous game in all of sport?

Yea i was wondering the point of it last night, cool idea, with the best players from NFC/AFC, but without the superbowl players is there any real point to it?

Have i missed something there cos to be honest i just presumed it was best of NFC vs best of AFC minus the superbowl guys but in truth i know little to nothing about it.

When its after the Superbowl, the players who didn't make the playoffs usually can't be bothered playing.

But, before or after, it's pretty ridiculous either way, like most all-star games

Its more ridiculous than any other all star game. The game is played at less than half speed - the 2nd play of the ?FC's 1st possesion the running back WALKED at the defensive line after the world's slowest handoff) pass rush banned, tackling banned, punt/FG blocking banned, offensive blocking banned...

I was reading this morning that the Pats practiced yesterday with a 30 minute break in the middle to try and replicate the half time of the SuperBowl, and are apparently the first team to ever do this.  A couple of points:

* a 30 minute half time is f**king mental.
* why have no other teams thought of doing this?  In all sports you are trying to make training as realistic as possible to ensure that everyone is comfortable with it on the big occassion.

FAO NFL nerds (in the politest sense)

As a neutral who should i root for?

I was keen on the 49ers due to the Ricki Ellison connection, keen on Ravens cos of The Wire, and liked the Saints cos, well who doesn't like Fat Tuesday

But im stuggling to see any reason to plump for the Pats or the Giants; im easily persuaded so please persuade me

Ha, I like the Ravens for the same reason! I like the 49ers cos my brother lives near SF and supports them. Also, I supported them as a kid when I was into NFL.

Trying to get back into it. I think I'll support 49ers and Ravens next season. Also, maybe the Jaguars, cos jaguars are cool and they have teal strip. Not sure who to support in the superbowl.

I'm going to enjoy being a neutral for once, not often I get to be, I shall enjoy the spectacle of two evenly matched teams with interesting history

I am very much a neutral here, but I have chosen the Giants just so I can have a team.

So after going to lunch at a nice restaurant and then spending the afternoon in the pub (drinking Leffe) I found out at about 4pm that I am going to a Superbowl party tonight.  I have had to keep drinking gently all evening to maintain a level of energy before meeting in the pub at 9pm, ahead of the game kicking off at midnight and finishing at 4am.

If I don't spend most of the game asleep in the bar the party is at, tomorrow will be a very tough day.

Oh, and my money is on the  Pats with a 3 point handicap

The only good thing about this halftime show is how incredible the stage is, and how they set it up in less than 10 minutes... incredible stuff.

Epic catch, Giants could get a touchdown here and put all the pressure on Brady
