scrappy win
Onto the tests, or should i say test. Not often you see a one off being played anymore. Might be a blessing in disguise though given it's Bangladesh.
I wish we had 3 tests against the Aussies though. 2 seems a bit lame.
Three for me, and two for them.

t-mac back to the usual
To be fair it was a bloody good ball that got him. Slightly crease bound, but didn't do a lot wrong. Didn't chase the ball with his hands, wasn't out in front of his body, was looking to play it straight back to the bowler.

Jeez we have a bloody long tail. If we go into the Aussie series with this lineup I can see us having issues (not that I can see us really having any other options without finding another seam bowling all rounder - Franklin maybe?)

So of McCullum's 4 test tons, he's got two against Bangladesh, and one against Zimbabwe. Good to see he turns up for the really big games....
Actually, that's a bit unfair, all those tons came at times when we were in a bit of trouble when we shouldn't have been. But it's frustrating that he has not really been able to put up hundreds consistently against top teams.

yea thats always been one of his problems, in the one day form he seems to play his best when there is little on the line e.g. the blistering 80ish off 20ish against bangladesh

Bigtobz is a massive McCullum fan and I am constantly telling him that he will never be real quality until he scores runs against good teams when we need it. His last two test centuries - India in Napier: good side, but weren't exactly in trouble) Bangladesh - Not a good side but we were in big trouble.
Put in some decent performances when we need them v Aussie this summer and I may change my mind on him

Why not bring out Southee in this situation? Tuffey and Patel are decent batsmen but if you sent Southee out and he came off we would get some quick bonus runs if he gets out we are in a dominant position anyway.
Tower and Jeets do look good though.
