Why would sky show India v. Pakistan, but not NZ v. Australia!?

Sky Don't provide the filming for the event as far as I know, ESPN is the World Cup Broadcaster and hence probably don't want to film every game.

Andy McKay - WTF?... I'm guessing the selectors realise we need at least ONE bowler that can get it consistently over 135k and he's it - is he? Do we have any others (assuming he does?) who are even reasonably quick?

Yeah Andy McKay, hmmmmm was my response to that. Other odd thing is why do they perservere with Hopkins in the ODI squad, has never produced at that level. McGlashan for mind is the much better option.

Good on Ingram for getting the call up, just out of sheer weight of runs. Bit tough on BJ though as he has been scoring decent runs.

Also, ESPN doesn't want to spend the money and relocate the cameras etc to Rangiora. So they just show the games at Lincoln.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

They showed that on the infamous Otago v Auckland game (I think that was Buffy's favourite cricket match of all time), and man, was he pumped. I reckon it was good to see from Rosco though, he gets paid so much in the IPL and by Victoria and playing for the Black Caps, but he still gets fired up about the domestic comp.

Good stuff.

Jacob Oram on the radio this morning being quizzed about the rumoured rift between team and coach at CD was very funny, Is there a rift? "well im not in a position to comment, which will tell you what my comment should be" When will you be in a position to comment? "Ummm ahh well umm ahh talk to Blair Furlong" Great radio.

Big Jake also said he would defo choose CD over Chennai for Champions League

I would not be disappointed if he did leave CD based on acouple of incidents at the recent game in Dunedin. One he strode the boundary with an arrogance and began sledging the Otago players which lead to a delay while the umpires dealt with it. Two after a pretty harmless "Not smiling so much now are we, Dermot" comment from the crowd he gave the person the fingers pretty obviously in an area with a high number of kids. Thats makes me think he is areal t**ser.

Not sure if he can do that. I say that because with B McCullum and the Volts we were told in the Otago Daily Times that if Kolkata quailfied for the Champions League (which they didn't), it was written in McCullums contract that he had to play for Knight Riders who would in turn pay Otago some sort of compensation. Obviously I have no idea whether this was a blanket rule or specific to McCullum. This issue of course never arose becuase KKR never made it but just saying.

See I always heard that KKR would have had to of bought him for that comp but if he wanted he could have played for Otago. In fairness to Jake he said he wasn't sure of the rules but if he got a choice he would choose CD

Yeah fair enough, re jake. Obviously its the best part of year ago now but if i correctly recall it was the same for B Mac but it was in his contract that he had no choice.

Good to see Pakistan not trying anything new, last I saw Aus were 220/6 with 5 overs to go, switch back just now and Pakistan let them get to 278 and were 4/40oddaitkenmike2010-01-29 22:41:37

Sack Intikhab Alam!!

Has been a terrible one sided tour. Lucky Pakistan haven't batted first or the game would be well over in 3 hours!

What happened to the triangular series they used to play in Aussie round this time of year?? Lack of funding? I miss it.

Lack of interest amongst the Australian public. Low crowd numbers = loss in revenue. So now they just have ordinary ODI series like the rest of the world.

Three for me, and two for them.

I could have lived without the cranked-up celebrations though. I havent seen that much roaring, posing or strutting since I stopped watching WWF. It is not possible for the sane viewer to watch a cricketer puff up his chest, stick out his bottom lip and howl like a baboon in the mating season without feeling a spasm or two of irritation. When the cricketer in question is a teenager who has just dismissed one of his peers with a long hop, the irritation is increased exponentially. I blame Shane Watson.

Greatbatch.  Can you remember when all those mid-1990s NZ cricket LOL autobiographies came out???  One NZ cricket "star" would write one - then their "teammates" would write another to rebut.

Rutherford couldn't stand him.  Howarth even less.  Crowe was in cahoots with him.  I think Pringle liked him.  Morrison - liked him?  Probably.  Turner - probably not...

Interesting times back then....to say the least...

Think it's in October. Last year it was in October cause i remember one of Otago's games was the same night as the AWs away leg v Bahrain.

Sky will definitely show CDs games and probably have live coverage of other games when they can fit them in.

Three for me, and two for them.

I think when they come over here the ODI series is going to be really close, we always up our game against the Aussies. The tests could be a different story.
