Surprised that a team wouldn't take a chance with Ryder for 100k.

WHo the f**k is Abhishek Nayyar?  Who ever he is, he's now $800,000 richer.

You've got to take into account that they have to have the majority of their team Indians, so any quality ones are going to be worth a lot more than the same quality of international players - there are a lot more internationals for a lot fewer positions.

Nope, $3 booking fee, the extra $5 was an unadvertised ramp up at the gate as opposed to prebooking.

That is total BS. NZC have seriously lost the plot.

That Indian series was a very good one to strike some form in.

But Ryder doesn't! that's f**ked, I'd have backed Ryder to get as much as any one of the NZ players maybe bar McCullum but even he got f all compared to Taylor.

Mental.

Agree that test cricket is way too expensive. You're effectively paying $85 to see 1 match. And the 8th placed vs 6th laced team to boot.

You'd really think they'd decrease the prices to get the crowds in..more people watching test cricket can only be a good thing.

Allegedly

James Franklin could be one of the buys of the auction imo. Crazy that Ryder didn't get picked up, he hits the ball better than anyone else in NZ. Taylor is probably hung over and hoping he doesn't have to bat at Seddon park today. Also I bet McCullum is pretty angry today, might see some more expansive batting from him.

I wonder what the IPL winning team gets to make all this spending worth it. It's just madness.

Theres about 20 players on that list that I've never heard of.

Saw Young and Ryder's dropped catches. Ryder's was a sitter but I think Young's was tough. The guy went hard at it and it flew off the edge into his glove and down before he knew it.

Were there any others?

I'm sure I heard on Radio Sport this morning that Jesse Ryder set a minimum value or something and it didn't get reached. I was half asleep so I may have heard it wrong.
What about Warney getting $1.8m and he's not even playing fulltime cricket!!

Would you get a refund for the other 2 days if you bought a 5-day ticket?
Permalink Permalink

5 day ticket costs the same as 3 individual days (less if you are paying at the gate) so I doubt it. Wonder if NZC will still have the balls to charge $33 tomorrow.

I was just about to say now might be a good time to rethink the price of tickets. Players may out number the punters in Welllington.

No point of preparing the pitch mate, let them play on the grass or the practice wickets.

No point making it harder for them. They wouldn't be able to bat on state highway one.

Force of history on his side, he's gonna make the 100 runs in tests finally in the same test as his 500th first class wicket.
