Moriarty got a hattie today for LH, and he is as old as me. Got injured though so not good for the next leg.

Someone from from mar said they havent got the points yet and may be replaying the game. Shambles. Should have been sorted a long time ago

miramar and kapiti both on 17 games according to the table, so I'd say there must ben a replay of some sorts on the cards.

Yeah I really don't see how the hell it matters for either side. Doubt they'll end up playing it

they need to find out who gets third - Mar or WU

Petone picked up only 3 points from last 6 games (a 1 nil win over Kapiti)

Time for capital football to answer these questions. If mar get the points now it would be embarrasing, same if the game is replayed. I get that mar were ripped off but this should have been sorted out long before now.

I assumed it didn't matter if Mar came third or not being that they can't get promoted? Therefore WU get the promotion spot/play-off regardless?

Nah don't think fourth place gets a nudge at it. Only third at a stretch.

Petone need 2 points from a possible 6 to take the title or am i missing something !?
It would seem Petone fell short of getting the 2 points they needed by some distance in both games

Funniest thing is that when Petone lost to LH  the other week one of the Dreamers text the Petone coach they had lost (they didnt) cue all of Petones life members shouting rounds of whisky for the players and supporters and making teary eyed speeches about what a great club it is (until they found out it was a yarn). Boom.

Don't think it's that funny Feverish, Considering that the Petone coach and the Dreamers player are friends and had been txting / swapping info all year in good faith. To be honest he is a w***er for doing that.

But hey who cares Petone are promoted and now have a team in the C/L and Premier, that is massive, puts them in a strong position for Hutt Valley football!

Well done to the Petone Cap 1 team!

Congrats to Petone - they played the best football all year until the wheels fell off. Completely deserve promotion. With a Central League and Champs Prem team, plus a new artificial...you're making it hard on the administrators running your club!

Good healthy banter between the Petone coach and Dreamers player from all accounts.

Do feel sorry for the young guys who train their backsides off all year only to lose the league to a team with only 3 regular players under 30.

Do feel sorry for a club as big as Wharfies who only have a team of semi social players over 30 to support a first team. Hardly ambitious.
Your administrators must feel relaxed.

Shouldn't you then feel even more sorry for other clubs whose 'ambitious' second teams (and even some first teams!) in Capital 1 end up behind on the final table to this bunch of semi-social players?

No need to get in a huff about it Uiron. Was being quite genuine in my comments. Obviously Wharfies have a big issue with their "Senior Squad" - given it isn't big enough to support a younger second team; feeding the first team.

Sure do el grapadura - although it's good for those club's younger players to play against those more experienced Dreamers - they could learn there is more to football than speed and fitness.

Pretty sure Wharfies admin are very relaxed every Friday night before running out on a Saturday for a kick around in Cap 1. Maybe that leads to a greater issue for another thread...the lack of quality depth in Wellington or New Zealand football. Who knows.

I think that depth in squads, be they Man Utd or Waterside is an issue that every club tries to deal with. Not always easy.

If you look back over the years the positioning of clubs in the Capital have changed. Look at the demise of Seatoun over recent years, once a great club. I think we all recognise that you need more than a good first XI.    Admin, facilities, quality coaching staff and a good player base, are all essential ingredients for a strong club. The successful clubs are the ones that are able to line these up year in and year out.

Which speaks to the poor quality of Capital 1.

This would indicate that all but three of your players were dreamers once they turned 20 according to Sealord

Are Petone definitely going up?  Or will they have to play off against Wests?  Or just it all depend on what happens with United and the Central League?
