WU 5 - 3 Naenae. We were terrible in the first half, some of us were running around looking clueless and Naenae controlled the game, they went into the half ahead 3 - 1. We changed a few things at half time and came out to battle, our boys showed some character and wanted it more in the end, winning the second half 4-0 and the game 5-3. Hopefully a turning point for us this season.

Still pissed off about being transferred out to Naenae (onto a pitch that hadn't been marked out!!), Newtown is still in great nick and can handle more than what's being played on it.

Any other results?

Petone beat Island Bay on the turf 3 nil. Score probably flatters Petone, but once we went a goal down we got caught chasing the game. 2 well constructed/taken goals from Petone though - they deserve to be top of the table. Look forward to the rematch!

Yeah I was the right back who got dragged towards the end, was carrying a knock since start of game. Just frustrating because we've now got goal scorers but just can't seem to keep the ball out of our net. Could of been different if our resident brazillian squared two easy balls in the first half and then didn't insist on having a brain melt in the second.

I assume he was the one who got sent, he was handy in the first half.

Island Bay 1 nil over Brooklyn. Could've been more in the first half but we then did it tough in the second and could easily have conceded. Stoked with the points though!

petone 1 - naenae 0, they got a goal with 5 to go, a draw would of been a more fair result and naenae could have had a couple themselves. gutted not to come away with a point really

WU 6 - 1 KCU. All one way traffic, we choked and gave up the clean sheet at the end. Al$o, too many unnece$$ary card$ from the ref, wa$n't a dirty game at all.

Naenae with a 3-2 win over IBU in pretty wet conditions at Naenae park was a good battle between both teams, IBU had 3 players back for the after-match speeches don't like losing perhaps?

what's this rumour about naenae paying ordinary players an extraordinary amount of money....

Jeez anyone would think Naenae lost what with the whinging about not enough IBU at the after match speeches plus now the bitching about the IBU coach. Enjoy your win already !

Wasn't whinging was just saying thought more players would of stayed around as we did at IBU 1st time, Most clubs do it even if they lose

My problem wasn't with the players, but when the coach shakes all your hands and the end of the game and tells you to "enjoy next year in capital 2" and "nice individual performances" then during speeches when everyone listens to him basically blame the game on the pitch and are respectful and keep quiet whilst he does so, for him to laugh and be completely rude during our coaches speech is unacceptable for the coach of any clubs team. Also is it not a fine for not turning up with away kit? There was a shorts/socks clash which is pretty crap.

Yeah he's a muppet, abused our players and the ref the whole game against them a few weeks back and most of what he said was ridiculous. Embarrassing for IBU who I thought were mostly good lads to play against. And I told him he's a muppet to his face before anyone says to do so.

I will draw his ( and others at Island Bay) to your comments re his behaviour as did not realise it was that bad and this is not what the club is about and is not acceptable.

Well played Naenae. You deserved the win. And congratulations to both squads doing so well to produce an entertaining game in very average conditions. Dont take the no shows to the post match  too much to heart. it was nothing personal.

It was real bad in some areas, large areas with a lot of surface water etc. It looked ok from a distance but we did a walk over and the ref said it was about as bad as he'd seen and if we'd started he'd have hated to have abandoned the game due to an injury. Neither coaches or captains from each team argued.

It was certainly a battle alright and congrats to Naenae for getting the win. You scored one scrappy goal more than we did and that's all you need when it's a sh*tfight like that.

Fair to say we're gutted to only pick up 1 from 6 points off the bottom placed team this season, but Karori's loss keeps us right in the mix. Probably only for second now with Petone showing they can grind results as well as notch up the big score lines.

I was one of the three that went back to the clubrooms and I wouldn't read much into the fact not many others did. We have a had a very disjointed season with no home games and being a second team we often play at 12:30pm so there is no after match. So the lads just aren't in the habit of going in for a beer. There are also a lot of young fellas who don't shower at the venue (and there was quite a queue at Naenae so don't blame them for just wanting to get home).

monkeyboy a clash in strip in Cap 1 only refers to shirts. Regulation 2.12.4 states socks are only a clash in Cap Prem. I think you guys wore black socks earlier in the season against us too.
