Not sure what you mean...

But I wish.

Cinema = weekends and nights. I barely make it to work on time after a Saturday 230 game.

Nope but they had 5 or 6 sodding good ring ins (Marist etc...).

Would help if we could hit a cow's arse with a banjo.....

Try 2...One of which spent most of the game as a sub as he "didn't want to take anyone spot"

We had 5 subs..I can only imagine that's what he meant. Definetly not 5 ring ins.

Fair enough - sure that's what he meant.

Either way we gave away soft goals and shot poorly, so can't complain about losing.

Rovers had, 5 subs....2 of which were ringins.... either way we'll take the win....the TFTs will take the grade anyway.

Hi all,

another Petone For Shore player here hoping to keep our 5 in a row unbeaten run going vs Olympic.
Niggly game against BNU last round so hoping for a friendlier game!

We are playing out in Naenae tomorrow. So if it rains more tonight I would say its definitely cancelled.
Permalink Permalink

the Naenae #2 pitch is better than the #1. We played on it about 4 weeks ago after a lot of rain and after another game. It was ok for the first half but was then cut up pretty bad.....still not the worst though. anyone played the Velodrome this year? It just gets worse and worse....should be shut down!

What happened to you guys when you played us (Petone). you kicked our ass first game and then seemed a shade of yourselves on the return leg with the same team?

Good young team with good skills......

Us? North Wellington?
I didn't play that game but that game isnt the first time that happened.
We beat Karori 5-1 in the first meeting then lost like 8 or 9 nil. Our consistency is rubbish.

Yeah, North Welly. Was the club and grade we were in last year. Decided a change in clubs after being there for 14 years

TBF a couple of crucial decisions went against us and I reckon we, Petone, created enough chances however Owen wasn't playing so we couldn't score.

looking like a good day to play today chaps, Island Bay JJ's home game played on Karori #3 , who'd have thunk it.

well that was a complete waste of time, 5 - 1 down to the JJ's. They weren't great but we were sh*t in front of goal. At least 4 scoring changes were missed. should have been a 5 - 4 match at least. theprof2011-07-09 16:44:31

The Naenae v. North Wellington game was an even bigger joke.
We were 4-0 down when it started raining, And the thunder storm went over us. Then the hail. Literally the size of marbles. Some bigger.
Everyone ran for shelter, most of my team hid behind a tarp on the sideline until it was safe to run to proper shelter.

We agreed to keep playing but weather didn't get better and it got extremely windy and we got treated to pins and needles rain.

So the whole thing got abandoned.

We (Petone) lost 4 - 1 to Olympic TFTs.

Both their first two goals were well taken and they dominated us including hitting the post once as well. We then got a goal on the break and things were pretty even for the last 15 mins of the 2nd half, so 2 - 1 to Olympic at halftime.

2nd half was also pretty even until they got a goal from a deflection (enough to be called an own goal really) and that just killed off the teams spirit.....another goal late int he game which come from some great Olympic build up. We didn't ply anywhere near to our best BUT they were definitley the better team on the day and deserve their table position.

Karori Rovers this week and hope to get a bit of confidence going agian before the Cup starts!

What happens with points for the NW vs Naenae game? Did Naenae get it as a win, is it a draw or a replay? It has an effect on relegation stuff

Olympic win the grade, but 2nd place for promotion woul dbe interesting. To be honest, I'd rather see Brooklyn win promotion as I really hate playing them. It'd be nice for another grade to have to deal with the abuse hurled at players and especially refs (even their own refs).

Would be weird if JJ's were promoted though and we ended up in a relegation spot considring we beat them twice! the only teams we haven't beaten are Naenae (two draws) and Olympic (two losses) so it's a really good even grade overall!

surely it would go down as a draw, points split...can't see it being replayed - no time to do so.

funny, the pre-game talk for the Rovers will be very similar, we are out to finish the season (league) with a win. So you can expect us to play pretty attacking.

Certainly wasn't assuming we'd win especially as your recent form is pretty decent, just want the guys to play some constructive football.....but I've now got 8 players out, one of whom is our Golden Boot.....and unlike SOME teams in this grade, I try to avoid getting ring-ins from the top grades as it's simply not fair on other teams. If I wanted to play against top players I'd lose 30kg and practice!

I take it that's a dig at the rovers, we have one guy who is friends with a couple of my players who when his team is cancelled asks if he can come in and play for us, he only ever plays as a sub. On occasions he's brough a mate along who fills a big ol' defensive gap we have had all season.

Not a dig at the Rovers at all, the only time we played you I was away. Just an observation from a few teams we've played. when you see people shaking hands with a player and introducing them and he's got a $300 pair of boots on then comes on at cuts a team to shreds it just smells like desperation on that teams part.

Ive noticed that too. Teams do change around a lot.
My Cap 10 coach is also my Under 21 coach so both teams train together. We have only had two ring ins this season, and both have been from the U21 team. And they are only called in if we are low in numbers.
