Mate, you need to realise that capital 16 is not for anyone.  It's tough work to make it in this grade and you have to to do the tough yards to earn your way up here.  If you are lucky enough to be one of the few that do "make it" you're gonna come up against players like you have never seen before.  Players who are expert in the ancient arts of beer drinking, pie comsumption and talking bollocks.

Elite sport is all about the top two inches and so is Cap16.  You need to be able to have a smoke in one hand, a beer in the other AND have the speed of mind to correctly call a blatant offside from anywhere on the field.  The physical side of the game at this level is quite secondary and better left to the lower numbered grades who are still just learning the game.

We don't train.  We don't need to.

We don't play on manicured billiard tables.  We prefer swamps

Ever wondered why WADA don't touch Cap16?

This time of year like concrete, rain tonight might soften it.  It is a cricket ground so every chance of a wicket block in the middle of the pitches.

Top two up in theory, but this grade gets a bit weird because there are always some new sides to football that join and when they start thumping sides 8-0 every week they get moved by the club the following season or even Capital football.

For instance Tawa AC got swapped after 6 or 7 rounds last year and moved to Cap 9.  Then the Karori Kittenz won the grade and the club moved them in to another gap (cap 12 ?).  I think the United Legends have jumped as well.

I was hoping there might be enough teams that we could have split the grade and kept the eight who were competitive last year together at least the new teams claw and fight each other.  Iin the end I think the only team that came down were the Vauxhalls who you guys play this week, and the only ones who just went up one division were the Olympic side in 15.

There is a cap 15 game on at the same time as us I think.

Our team is pritty terrible but me and my friend enjoy the social aspect/drinking although if we were fit we probly should be playing at least capital 5 or higher. Last week we scored early off a corner so i just played centre back the whole game and grinded out a 1-0 even though they were all over us possession wise they kept on trying to play through balls and on the hard ground it just runs through to the keeper.

We are going to try this every week and see if we can grind our way to the top lol.

You'll run in to some good sides among the new ones, and Porirua are all young and keep running and running and running.

We'll have to get you hammered pre-game when/if you come to Naenae.

We have played two games on Macallister so far this seasonand it is is concrete- but is a good surface- lots of grass and smooth & it is orientated east-west this year so that mitigates the wind a bit
Yes, two cricket pitches in each corner make it very slippery, doubt the rain tonight will do much

The walk across the pitch to say hi a walk to far ?

Indian Sports lads good guys.  Mostly Hockey and Rugby players trying football for a change, but really buying in to the Cap 16 spirit.

We've got Uni Cycles this week.  No idea if they are the same squad as last year, beat us on one of the worst days in Wellington football history last year at Ngatitoa.

I think the uni cycles team was the same as last year. it was two weeks (?) ago but I have forgotten.

Was nice of the Porirua boys to help us out with our goal, they nearly put a few more in for us too. had our own chances but all for naught this week.

This weeks game between Seatoun and Porirua will be interesting

Having the misfortune of having to play against both already this year I think that Seatoun were slightly better (even though Porirua scored more against us)

Seatoun will definately benefit from playing up several more grades as I don't think they grasp the concept that some of us are just out to enjoy ourselves.
