we are a bit different than last year. We lost our centreback and captain from last year, and one of our central midfielders has made the step up to the 1st team, so a bit of the backbone has been lost. but we will come right.

and hey, karori cant go up so we just need to finish second, right

looks like the battle for promotion lies between Seatoun, island bay,Tawa and maybe Marist (Wanderers can't get promoted). If Seatoun can keep their squad together and with players like matt,brady, loza and casey up front should be right up there for promotion. Island Bay have one the strongest squads in div I think with a lot of decent footballers however their inability to score goals and ability to capitulate under pressure particularly in the 2nd half of season could be a worry. As for Tawa I'm surprised they're not doing better strong season last year strong u19s strong first team this season whats the story there? Its a long season I suppose and they're not far off the pace at all.

Like Sir Les said, we (Tawa) have had a few changes this year and have lost a few players to early retirements or the 1st team. We didn't use pre-season as wisely as we should have as we played a number of Tawa College players who haven't been seen since we were knocked out of Hilton, so its just taking a while for the side to click. We'll come right though. Should be a good test against Seatoun this weekend who by all accounts have improved alot since last season.

I thought Island Bay were a good side last year, better than what their final position showed.Pretzel2008-05-01 12:46:11

Undertaker2 - Angus is the only person that would ask after himself and why he isn't playing - who else would miss him on the field?? He has 5 or6 different log ins.

Dreamers lost after looking comfortable at 1-0 up having all the possession. Island Bay were more up for tit though, and lack of defending cost the dreamers who were without a few key players.

don't know the guy. only know tawa 2nd team through the romjins manily martin as i play for island bay and hes in the masters team. know sir les as played him many times over the years only deticated newcastle fan and that was the only two players as mentioned as missing aswel as anothercentre back whos name never stuck with me.

good to see we beat top of the table dreamers

Angus came off the bench for us on Saturday after the 3rds were cancelled. Not sure if he'll be playing for future games or not.

Congrats on Island Bay beating the dreamers. So now we are playing the top 3 sides in the grade in consecutive weeks!

Interesting matchups tomorrow.

Well...Seatoun (Top o Table) vs Marist...mid table...can the Boys from Vatican City shake off their terrible form from last weeks 1-0 scrape vs Brooklyn and beat the Sky Blues on the vast steppe that is Seatoun Park?

Seatoun look handy, and have pace and guile up front and down the flanks. Marist are looking for some Holy Inspiration and Healing. Will the Assassin's groin hold up? Will Big Mike recover from his back strain? Will Lazy John survive his encounter with a lion and retrieve our match ball? Will Lavers get on the park? Will Stokesy go mental? Will Tim fall asleep on the couch at Dingle's party? Will I confuse everyone with another haiku text? Who knows...

Don't actually know what the rest of the games are after all that...anyone else with thoughts, opinions, previews? Reasonably tight league so far. Lovely.

BNU were unlucky to not get at least a draw against us (Marist), we played poorly, but Brooklyn dominated for large parts of the match and had a couple of crucial decisions go against them. They were a little undone by some of their more skillful players reluctance to pass but were solid all over the park.

Yes, i'm still hurting from that. Some disgraceful refereeing decisions but well done to Stop Out who made the most of those decisions. You appear to have some good confident young players coming through and they will only get better.

i thought you guys had a decent enough team and played some good footy. there were some pretty dodgy decisions at key times though which cost you.

Was a good game... Nice football played allround.. The pitch is looking great to, alot better than 2 weeks ago.. Tawa were unlucky but i still think stop out made the most of what they had of the ball and looked more dangerous up front.. Anyone know about seatoun?

played in this game for tawa all be it subbed at half time. for obvious reasons of being 2-0 down and me being rubbish. wasn't good to see ourteam bitching and moaning one player stands out everyweek, don't know why these people bother to play when all their going to do is bitch at their own team. but anyway stop out looked good, young guys happy for you as youngest guy in our team its rather ridiculous more clubs like you including our team don't show more faith in young guys instead of rewarding these crap old whiners. fair game, ref called things wrong both way - play the game not the ref, we had about 5 shots 3 of these probably from 30 yeards.

good team look foward to hosting you in tawa if im not shoot for pulling down guys 3 times my age who should be heading towards masters in a walking frame. rant over.

Nah mate, I was the other Ginga in the side.

Angus, sorry, I mean 'bobboltontawa2'. I'm with you on your comments about certain older whingers. Some of us have been pushing for younger fullas to get a chance in the side. And not the younger fullas that are training with us (you may know the 2 i'm talking about). Unfortunately the club has decided they want to introduce these young guys slowly. Quite ridiculous considering that next season over half the current side won't be there for various reasons, so they will have no choice but to throw these young guys in at the deep end.

Whoops, sorry. I play or Marist and the score was 4 - 2 to Marist. We were 4 nil up at half time, but Tawa pretty much outplayed us in the 2nd half and scored 2.

yea football was good, defending 1st half was terrible to say the less think you had 4 shots and 4 goals in 1st half wonderful o well.

don't know what a coach would do from here players on the field playing alright but not getting the results its a toughie.

good game, ref did alright apart from those random yellow cards but sweet.

Dreamers are a very good side. Fantastic passing game and very tactically astute. Excellent understanding between the players.

I rate the dreamers highly but there keepers not so great..
