Capital 5 - 2009

Seeing the thread on Capital 13, I decided to start one on Capital 5 - seeing as I play in this div at the moment.

Goal difference is hard to count on this early in the season.

I think its a good idea to have threads for all our local football leagues so good luck!  Looks a very competitive division.

I play a bit of summer football with the Island Bay United team, who seem to be struggling at the moment.  They will be gutted that Island Bay Massey are so far ahead of them, but there is a long way to go this season.

That's one thing I am really enjoying about this division is that it is so tight. We lost to Island Bay the other week - it seems that most teams can get a result if they lift themselves on the day.

As most games are won by 1 or 2 goals even best to worst it got to be a good motivator for the teams to lift there game each week. Look out Div 4 they are coming your way soon. 

Cnut, have you played at Naenae yet ?

Played Naenae earlier in the season, they are  a better side than the table shows. looking forward to playing at kelburn and getting some revenge, moody ba$tards ah CNUT goes both ways buddy!

IBU are really starting to struggle by the looks of things.

Yeah I play for.  Island Bay Massey.  We got beaten by Marist Cavs this weekend.  It was really cold out at Cobham Park.

whats with that call!? Never known our guys to be regarded as a dirty team?

Had a good 5-2 win over Petone on the weekend, played second half for them, scored a header off a corner my first goal in about 2 years lol, was quite stoked :D

Played 1st team and we had a 0-0 draw against Petone Capital 1..

a quick note as well, three of our first team players are injured and another three are away on holiday, not making things easy for the 2nd team as we keep having to pull players up which affects the 2nd team obviously

lol I don't think we are struggling that much yet!!

although, I think the hawks have made a few aquistions of older fellas who are struggling lol!

Come on Marist Town, I am sure there is a big comeback in there for you.....somewhere......maybe.......maybe not.... maybe there will be a thread for Capital 6 next year?

Lol, but then we will have no one to MC our speeches in the afternoon and insist that teams have a dick of the day!!

I endured a couple of seasons of harsh words from Kingy, I'm all the better for it ( I think ) not sure about some of the other young players though lol!

Noticed your top post on Miramar, reminded me of a funny incident last year where a kerfuffle broke out between a few of Miramars players and ours and one of our Sudanese guys ended up getting bitten Mike Tyson style on the ear!! Very dirty!!

lol unlucky was the word on the day

they got repeatdly denied by the woodwork

than, 1-1 all and on the last play of the game they scored off a corner, what f**ked me off big time though was the bloody bugger didn't even hit the ball he just stuck his leg out at it and it deflected off and went in!!! Set pieces big danger anyway, they had a couple of guys that were 6ft+ lol. I got MOM but was still a bit of a downer lol.

 Ref was average, penalised me for tripping over a dude when I was in front of him with the ball, very strange :/

Our first team won 6-2 against Waterside Karori good win for us.

Congrats to Marist Town for posting their first win of the season... against the team that beat them 10-1 in the first round no less!!!  

Yeah - that was a bit of a surprise, but a pleasant one for us as it pretty much puts Petone on the back foot for the league title. They were top of it for a good while as well.

Ha ha! Yeah - we can be a bit narky and need to improve on that front - but none of us are any worse than Rhys Cole!! Miramar though were by far the worst team I have played in a few years on that front. I think they were expecting to turn up and win, or at least give us a tough match and when we started banging goals in they got progressively angrier - especially their old donkey center back!

yea the seconds team there is pretty poor, my mate in that team reckons they've only been able to put together a consistent side once or twice this season, but ye that's their porblem!

hmm haven't played out those ways as yet, but losing a boot in the bog at happy valley will always have that pitch well tucked away in my worst pitch folder!

hmmm not too sure, I don't really keep a check on the fixtures or tables and stuff. but we can't be far away. how bout one of you guys start a rumble in our next game or summin then we can have a rivalry to match our disdain for the HHH side now playin in cap 4???!!!

cnut if you are talking about that old donkey that I am thinking of in the backs at Miramar, he is the biggest cowardly F**K off twat I've ever met.

When I was 16 ( around 4 years ago ) I went and played a game for our Capital 13 side against a Miramar team he was in, a scuffle broke out on the field and he kinghit one of our players knocking him unconcious who then had a seizure. This f**ktards response was to let loose a string of abuse then left the field and got in his car and drove off like a cowardly bitch.

No respect at all for that guy, if I happen to play against him, I hope he avoids coming near me 1v1, he might find himself less half a leg
