Anyone out there from teams in Capital 7?

We (the sealords) had some good online banter with those from Capital 8 last year...

Thought we could start it up early??

Who are the teams to look out for this year?

It was my first season for Marist Inter in Wellington last year and I thought it was a good div last season - all teams took points from the others at some stage or other I think.  Expecting more of the same. I hear the Karori fields are quite flash ! Looking forward to the games & the banter!

Hmm, perhaps not. I nearly drowned in the middle of Karori 1 last July.

I retract my previous comment. The hallowed turf of Karori Park is one of the finest football fields not only in New Zealand, but the world, rivalling such illustrious grounds like Camp Nou, Old Trafford and San Siro. I very much look forward to playing on it this season.

NB. This retraction is primarily the result of me not wanting to submit the rest of the club to watching my man-boobs next Saturday.el grapadura2008-04-04 16:06:03

Off the mark straight up, in superb conditions at Melrose...even the baboons decided to stay inside.

And the new shirts looked all class.

Just out of curiosity, what do your shirts look like el grapadura? The Karori derby will be interesting if both teams are wearing the same kit.

We've got a brand new Lotto kit wih black and white stripes and red trim down the sides. Looks very nice, thumbs up to Feverish.

Sealords have to Wear away strip i think. Advantage to Magpie n Pints as we'll have numbers. If the weather stays good it will be a good game.

Sealords 3 - Magpies 1 is my prediction!

Sealords unbeaten @ Wilton and Karori for 3 seasons!

We all have different colour boots so that should help you out...

Doesn't look like the new name and new shirts our guys have didn't demoralise the opposition at all. However the elite did put up a superb display as duty team at the clubrooms on Saturday.

Good to see sealords representing!

Looking forward to maintaining our unbeaten record from last year against you chaps
After results on the weekend we could probly claim to be the form team (wouldn't be hard!) within the stop out club so shaping up nicely....

Must say it was great wintery conditions to signal the start of the season, nothing better than sliding around on a wet skiddy pitch, fantastic!!! Hoping for another evenly matched comp going right down to the wire, bring it on all you other cap 7 warriors.

I have to say that as Co-Captain of the Sealords. One of our two main goals this season (the other being winning the grade again) is to rectify our two losses against Stop Out.

So yea we are looking forward to when we meet you guys again...

Prediction:   Sealords 2
                    Stop Out 0

My prediction for this weekends Wharfies Derby:

A flowing open game on the hallowed turf of Karori Park, where football (and the bar) will be the winner on the day, paving the way for many an incident which can be debated in the match reports! Looking forward to sun this week, and the carpet that is otherwise known as KP.

Bring on the post-match speeches in the clubbies from the Captains! ;)

Love the confidence shown here but i'm picking the same scoreline as last year's 2 encounters -
Stop Out 2 - Sealords 1

To be fair we were a bit bemused by even getting promoted as our run home was abysmal, but thanks to the killer bees wimping out and the rest of the results going perfectly for us we are now planning on going one better this season and topping the grade!

Looking 4ward to hopefully playing at KP vs you guys, played cricket there this year and it was the best looking club setup i've seen in a long time, not to mention a belter of a deck with over 600 runs scored in a onedayer. Bring it on!

Awful, awful, first half from us. Made changes in the second and things went much better, but the game was gone by then...

Gotta luv the regional banter...

We Stop Out boys sittin' pretty at the mo, 2 from 2, along with the other 2 unbeaten teams in Cap7 on 6 points.

Very much looking 4ward to a meeting with our main rivals from last season - Sealords!! Im sure you boys will be wanting to exact revenge on us! We will be looking to fry some fish whenever that meeting may be.

Welcome back Bung

We have definitely marked our meeting with Stop Out on the calendar. (Must be coming up in the next few weeks!) It looks to be a repeat of last years top of the table clash depending on how your next few results go...But this time our squad is stronger and we expect to come out triumphant!

recent form shows we have beaten a Petone side who came third last season and a team who were competing in Cap 6...We've got the hard fixtures out of the way quite convincingly some would say...

Back to winning ways for us after last week's embarassment. Didn't play that great actually, but the game was won after the first 10-15 minutes, and got a bit scrappy after that.
The weather was sublime as well, true Wellington.

Big Game against Stop Out this week at Benburn park for the Sealords! - this fixture has been long in the calander!

Hard game against Olympic on Sat - they certainly don't deserve to be bottom of the table!!

After four games, i think Cap 7 is going to be very competitive!

Are you serious about Olympic?  I wonder if they might've had ring ins from a higher grade that played the day before, because we played them the week before and they were RUBBISH!

Or maybe you guys just aren't that good ;)
