Marist got pretty shafted last year by teams dropping players, and got relegated with a few more points then Lower Hutt and Naenae this year.
BUT, that is all second hand knowledge, wasn't in the team last year

Marist did get stitched up last year. I remember a lower hutt side with corrales, pedro, ginger ronaldo playing you lot at the end of last season, not to mention wests having (i think) one point after the first round then going 5 wins in a row, after they dropped players down. The Mar got forced into a playoff after all this with 19 points!

Marist were a good team last year and got shafted by that fact that both Wests and Lower Hutt's 1st teams seasons were over by the half way stage allowing them to swap teams.

Under achievers - I agree, Brooklyn. Got talent but no consistency and no striker to score goals.
I would have to disagree... They were not under achievers, there team was greatly depleted from last year so achieved to where they probably should have.
But the main reason I disagree is I think they had the best striker in the league. No.9 Believe his name is something like richie(?) He just had no one to support him.

Must admit I'm with Redwards, they got some great results (beat and drew with us), but then blew out twice against Stokes Valley. Just no consistency

um its next week at a neutral ground. Island Bay firm favourites to win as they have half their 1st team squad (Patterson and Luciano and a few others). Definately going to have to take a big game from the Tawa lads

Result from today
I know Island Bay are staying put (boo), would have been nice having a bit more variety in cap 1.
BUT any word on Olympic result?

pretty sh*t result for us, if we had a striker result game would have been well over by extra time. olympic played the better football but we had more chances. Olympics goal should never have gone in either. sh*t happens though. Pretty disgusting display from Olympics spectators during the penalty shootout. What a bunch of w**kers, was no need for what they started doing.

Lets just get it out there to start with
Obviously monkey is going to be upset, and no doubt the Bubbles will say he's a sore loser. But what was going on during the shootout?
In reality as a goalie, I would like silence, any heckling aimed at either shooter or goalie, just makes what is already a farce of a way to end a game even more farcical.

Yup heckling, whistling, shouting abusive crap. Just typical Olympic spectator sh*t, they wonder why nobody likes their club? Agree with you nomad, there should be silence for everyone involved during the shootout, just makes things ridiculous and immature. Olympics officials and coaches should have been involved and asker their spectators to keep quiet. Olympic won't survive in prems anyway I believe unless they do something about their poor discipline, so many of their young players don't have a clue when to shutup they argue with the ref about everything. Thought the referee was quiet fair actually.

Ok I had just written a big essay for your Monkey Boy, but to be honest, theres no need to post it, and simply theres only one thing to say.
Your now in Cap 1, our 2nd team is in Champs premier, but good luck to ya!!
Have a good season in Cap 1!

See now your just being a sore-winner pavlos
We don't need an essay, in fact lets not for a change and just keep it civil. Was there heckling going on towards the Naenae shooters? Was it perhaps over the top, or simply good banter, and monkey is seeing it through not so rose tinted glasses.
There's always two sides to a debate, I think we need an unbiased person wading in here to say what they saw.

I was on the other side of the pitch from the bubbles fans- and there was one fairly well oiled Naenae supporter giving each of the Greeks as they went up to take their penalties a fair amount of very loud and vocal offensive abuse - he was asked to tone it down by another Naenae fan - to which he took a bit of offence to himself. So no angels on both sides.
What the bubbles fans were doing - booing and whistling during Naenae penalties - is no different from what we were all doing in the YF zone during Melbourne's penalties in last seasons PSC final.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

I still see it as being bad sportsmanship. The difference between our spectators and theirs was that about 30 of them were doing it and only about 3 or 4 of ours were. Pavlos I would love to see your "essay" if you've got an opinion why not share it completely? Not a good look for Olympic when you've got your Central League players on the sideline making dickhead comments to our players as well namely a coloured boot wearing gel headed retard, should these players not be making an effort as senior players of your club to setting a good role model for everyone else??

Guys, it's football, not opera. Participation from fans on the sideline/in the grandstand is welcome and encouraged, as long as it does not descend into racial/sexist abuse. Live with it.

The Sheik speaks.....and we all listen....
Been known to throw a bit of sideline abuse myself over the years.....

Yeah monkey I was there as well, was standing opposite the benches just on the half way line during the penalty shoot out and could hear some 'involvement' from both sides.
Suspect Naenae haven't really endeared themselves to the football powers that be either - email to clubs during the week asking them to discourage drinking on the sidelines...and Naenae there with (to quote one of them) "more beers than there are people here, so help yourself"...

Can't say I heard about that Smithy but can understand the reasoning behind it, most football supporters aren't too bad with their booze though not particularly going to end up with crowd fighting like rugby! Thought it was pretty sweet they bought a BBQ though and were giving out sausages to anyone that asked haha.

I think the bubbles fans are just releived that they are now in the prems, after having to travel to levin just towatch them get smsashed!!! To me bring it on another Mar v bubbles derby!!

Don't worry about this knob LF1, always seems to have some idiot opinion when it comes to Naenae. I think he smells of ex disgruntled player or something similar. Maybe his girlfriends blouse is chaffing him today.

Monkeyboy I think you can see that everyone here has no problem with banter during penalties or during the game.. Since the game didnt exactly go your way despite Jamie Cross's efforts, I feel that the least I could do is offer you a tissue....
