The injury talk begins again!

Do I dare call your bluff (like mine was called last week - no one from Olympic did validate me of course, but it was the truth).

Either way should be a cracker of a game, and my sources have told me, there has actually been remedial work done on Kilbernie (cue the atomic bomb joke again). So who knows. But at least it'll be dry!

PS - someone from North Welly wanna fling me a cell phone number, so we can get your result straight after the game?

Well if warfies win the league I'm pretty sure the club (lower hutt) will make sure that we stay in champs premier and start planning on beeing stronger for next year.

Nope - captain back, defender off suspension, other defender back

One forward a bit knackered, but otherwise pretty sweet

No alledging here, was all true. We dealt to olympic good and proper with probly our most unsettled team of the year. Made it all the sweeter

Criminy! Tell Brian to hurry up and give us some players then, my starting lineup for tomorrow is currently 6...

you'd be favourites then considering Karori never seem to beat Marist at any level

Quite interesting comparing results across the board.

Karori really have got to the top of the table by destroying teams... might be busier then I thought tomorrow.

Olympic 2 - 1 North Wellington.

Left it late but none the less well done to the boys.

Heard Marist beat Karori 1-0. Congrats.

Only if we drew last weeks game, dammit.

O well bring on Naenae in the playoff game!

Bring on the prems next year... ugh, I have to get fit.

Champions, champions, champions

Ok ok, I'll stop being a prat now

Lets talk about IBU and BNU!!

IB - A solidly stacked team to win a playoff spot? Any word Smithy?

And BNU one of only two teams to beat us this season get instantly relegated. Madness!!!

What a joke that playoff match will be if Tawa come second (winning vs Olympic). Island Bay just having a stacked team in the playoff playing vs Tawa how is that fair on a Tawa team that I think would be better than Island Bay especially when they hit they are on fire. We could in theory only drop down three players to help Tawa out as the firsts have another important game this week. What if Tawa had won the league this week and dropped down three players for the game against Olympic then another three. Not really both teams playing against eachothers proper teams. Surely for playoff matches there should be some kind of rule introduced. It is talked about every year. What if Marist had come second and played a 2nd team they would have been up against it. I remember 4 years ago playing for Wests to get promoted to Capital Premier and we basically had a whole first team playing North Wellington to get promoted not really fair is it?

Its what people have been saying for last couple of years. You'll still see a predominately olympic first team playing naenae in the playoff, the only club not to drop players to survive have been the mar. This year in prem lower hutt realised they didnt have the depth, so full credit to them. If your not good enough to stay or get prromoted as you are then why bother. IB are struggling this year because they not good enough to survive with their normal side, so should go down! I loved it last year that the mar seconds destroyed a olympic side with 80% first teamers!

Island Bay used top team players to win the promotion playoff last year so cant see that changing

I don't believe we (Island Bay) aren't good enough for Cap 1 (And we certainly aren't/haven't been struggling)

We have done alright in what was a very close league the whole way through.  Other then the Dreamers who outplayed us twice, we matched every team in the grade.  We drew nil nil with Marist, then lost 1 nil.  And lost 1 nil to Olympic in a game where we had numerous chances and as their coach mentioned afterwards we probably should've won.  We also beat Petone twice who sit fourth.

Of course the fact we came ninth means we didn't do great but we went through a rebuilding year with plenty of changes from the previous year so with a season under our belts I have no doubt we will mount a serious challenge for the title next year.

This is what the cap football rules say.  I'm not sure exactly how they work though as these were the rules last year and teams seemed to be the opposite.
"

Player Eligibility

1) A player being duly registered and otherwise complying with these and

relevant Regulations shall be at liberty to play in the competitions in any team

entered by his/her Club in any division at the discretion of his Club selection

committee. A player is defined as a person who actually takes the field in

the current season. See Appendix 1 which covers eligibility rules for

Representative Teams in the context of the Champs Premier League. If a Club

has a team in a higher competition, the following shall apply:

a) once a player has played for a Clubs lower graded team, he is deemed to

be a member of that team until such time that he returns to the higher

graded team

b) no more than three Central or Champs Premier League players can be

regraded down into any local league team for any one game. When the

relevant Central or Champs Premier League is completed, no further

players can be regraded from such Central or Champs Premier League

teams.

c) for Capital 1 division and below, no more than three players can be

regraded down into any one team for any one game

d) when a team has completed its season, and is

involved in a playoff, no

further players can be regraded to that team."

will definitely make sure my club is aware of this and I'm sure we will doing everything to make sure this rule is enforced. very interesting. so their team would have to be the same as say the last game?
