am still taken by, last season,  Jamie making an attacking move and someone on the sideline commenting that if he , Jamie, was that far up the pitch he wouldn't know what to do...

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

How come Jamie changed clubs?

Basically our coach got in his ear and convinced him to come over. I'm guessing the fact he was going to play him up top and give him a leadership role appealed. He also takes our U17 lads on Sunday morning.

Great golden boot race shaping up with 5 games to go

And from what I can tell Joe and Jamie are mates so the banter will be flowing...

In all the years I've known Jamie I would never have picked him to be in contention for any kind of golden boot award! Top season from him.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

He's scored some screamers too. Can't think of many, if any, tap-ins.

Yeah pretty much all the goals I've seen have been rippers apart from a couple of close range headers. On Saturday he basically did nothing until the last 10-15 when he had two shots, one a 25m ping into the top locker and the second a left foot volley which not many would have scored, very good technique. You gotta hand it to him, he's playing some very good footy.

Fuck this stupid game

Depends if anyone can meet his buy out clause. He's our Luiz Suarez.

Watched first half of wharf vs mar... Was fairly poor allround tbh.

Unlucky for our lads, need stop out to really turn to custard, and now ib inched into second also.

It's about that time in the season when Stop out implode

Seems more like the time of season when wharfies Implode!
Taking Sacha back in goal after a no show that cost them a draw against Olympic?? Then I heard he cost the goal against Miramar?
Sounds a lot more like the team imploding.
Good call tho horse head hahaha

Yeah we scored straight from a cross. Based on the games I've seen I can't see Karori beating PNM in a play off. Pretty sure Stop Out would.

Don't know much about PNM but I reckon Island Bay would probably go well in home and away legs against them. Bay can definitly score goals and certainly deserve their second spot in the league now. They are definitly the threat for SO

Still 4 games to go. 12 points available for each team? Are there any twists left in this league? Will Wellington Utd go down or could the catch Wainui? Will Sacha turn up to the game next week for Karori? Will Marist set the all time fouls in a season record?

Do any of the top teams have to play each other again? From memory The Stop Out /Wharf game was cancelled?

Permalink Permalink

Wharf now play Stop Out at Karori Park on Aug 24. The game was cancelled on that weekend when almost all games were off.
SO won the league game v Wharf 4-2 at Hutt Park. Fair result. But Wharf won the cup game 6-0 at KP on QB when SO rested some players.

Is that the last game of the season? Good if it is. CL likely to also be decided on the last day with Oly v Mar. Was an awesome finish to CP a couple years ago when United and Upper Hutt played against Miramar and Oly reserves respectively next to each other on Wakefield. UH were only winning by goal diff but choked that day and handed it to united. Awesome if it ends with that kind of drama again.

Fuck this stupid game

Played side by side? Love it.

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Kind of seemed like Stop Out didn't really want to be in the cup. Seem's to have turned out better than It has for Wharf. Would also explain Stop Out's only loss of that kinda of scoreline this season. Wharf will be hoping that Stop Out drop some points in their next 3 games or they could be celebrating at KP!

Would have to turn a six goal loss into a 5 goal win for a career in Parliament!

Probably more like an actual reflection of of what happend. Karori have proved they are no where near Stop Out when they have there number 1 line up out.

Not so much this season it would seem? being the most consistent team in the league. Interesting discussion though as it would seem Karori's lack of depth is what has cost them... Having to use an outfield player in goal and clearly not having the players to step in.

And just to chime in having... what 5 different keepers (all quality mind you) through the season?

Lets however talk relegation. Seems pretty dead certain that Wainui or Welly United are for the dustbin. Maybe both, but who knows with the lolfest that is Capital/Courtroom 1. Frankly after the game against Wainui in the weekend, they look like a pretty beaten team, and if Welly United gets an upset/we put out our masters in the second to last game of the season. They could pip Wainui at the post

Won't matter if United come down from Central League. They'll have to go down anyway.
Permalink Permalink

Do you think it will be Utd who drop from Central League? Tawa are still in danger are'nt they?

Looks like Lower Hutt will be comming up from Cap 1 and if Karori stay in 2nd place than there could be a playoff game for the other spot. This will also depend on the winner of Cap Prem achieving promotion to Central League. Alot of twists and turns left before seasons end.

A dog with a bone :)
