Agreed, first two goals by Olympic were brilliant, 3rd was good also. Wests woke up and played well 2nd half and were unlucky to hit the crossbar with about twenty to go, a couple of good shouts for penalties too. Great game to watch.

The Greek midfield three - Halikias, Barbarouses and de Gregorio are class.

George Barbarouses is probably the best player in the league this year.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Firstly Xaxa to you.

Secondly, chafoo.

GREAT win for us today. Put a limp in Wests step and kept our title hopes alive.

Now all we need now is for the Mar to get a result next, and us win the next 3 games. The way we've been playing i say the cards lie in our favour, but i don't want to get ahead of myself.

...and there is no chance Mar will forfeit their game against Wests. Thats ridiculous.

That would be an embarrassment.

Its about time that we saw "some changes" at the TW midfield, clearly the incumbents are getting rather complacent...about their positions and they have not really set the "world on fire" with their performances, and as for your question, I am sure that every aspiring football player wants to play at the highest level possible providing there is the right enviroment in place to allow them to progress....

There will be changes anyway with Mike Eagar gone.  Word on the street is Cole Peverley to take his spot.

You would think many more Olympic players would make this team surely.
What about Miki up front? George n Raf.. Scott robson right back is probably the best in the league. I rate Nick better than Dylan Hall at the moment as well. Wel c. Will it come down to what club you play for? Perhaps wel c a team full of Wests players.

Also comes down to who's avaliable to play during the summer and willing to commit fully to the team. That has been the problem with some players in the past.

Dylan wasn't in goal for Team Wellington last year.  Phil Imray (and then Jim Bannatyne) was.  I'd imagine Imray will be again.

Agree with you about Robson.  Barry Lewis has been the best centre back in the league this year too just quietly.  Wonder if he'll get a trial at Bradford...

In fact he turned them down already...he told them he was too busy and that he was also having too much fun with Olympic...!!!!

On a more serious note...before TW get anywhere ...and to start geting some good young players they will need to dump their preconceived ideas about certain players from certain clubs and look "outside the square". Anyway this is a forum for CL ...

I agree however he is rather prone to hacking people down and is not shy about the manner in which he does it. How would that shape up on the NZFC when he isn't playing because of suspension or giving away penalties to our opponents

If you agree then let him hack, what defenders dont. This season I dont think Barry has had many cards at all, and has not given any penos away that I can recall. Plus to be honest I dont think Barry will want to play NZFC.

I watched the first half of Petone / Olympic. Olympic were awarded a free kick, quite early on, when one of the Petone team No 14 ( programme says Richard McLay)  was offside. Petone's Paul Whitmarsh and No 17 (prog says Benn Dawson) gave the linesman a lot of stick. All I can say is that both of them were well out of order.

Other moment. Olympic scored and two latecomers next to me then asked the ball boy what did that make the score. He replied "it's nil nil!".
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Olympic drew with Petone 1-1.

Not really quite the side we saw beat Wests. Didn't play up to our standards.

Hear Miramar beat Wests.

Thank you.

A win against The Rapa next week and Wests away will see us win the league!

Chafoo.

So, where does that leave the Petone Midfield, who, I understand, didn't play that well today

Heard that the coach from Olympic said to the coach form Wai United that Olympic were going to thrash them 6 nil.  Good luck with that.

It could be a possibility, depends who plays on Sunday, going with all the rumours floating round some of the second team youngsters could get a run, will be interesting,

Heard Calcott, struck a negative chord with Miramar's Coaching staff in his after-match speech!

Anyone care to comment?

Word on the street said that Mr Calcott said in his after match speech that Miramar would be a top quailty team if they had some decent coaching.

Mr Cameron didn't reply in his speech but they were eyeball to eyeball on the Miramar balcony afterwards.
