Would be fair to say Rapa are the most inconsistent team in the league.

Certainly had the players to win it. Real under-achievement.

Think so? Admitidely I've only seen them 3 times this season, there looked like there was only 3/4 players who would make one of the top 3 teams.

I think it's fair to say some national league players coast through winter. Some big names in a team I've watched a fair bit of in Auckland this season have been consistently shark. In most of those games if you didn't know you wouldn't pick them as the big $ players.

Fuck this stupid game

Well if they had the players to win it, they would have won it. Or at the very least, not finished in 7th place. Simple as that.

You make it sound like winter is the off season? Also as if these guys think they are professional. They are amateur. Big dollar players earning how much a game in Auckland?

You do not think the coach makes any difference?

Miramar hammered Wairarapa United 7-2 tonight (Ben Harris getting 4)

So table is Olympic 36pts, Miramar 35pts, Napier 34pts

Saturdays games (all 2:30pm kick offs)

Stop Out v Olympic @ Hutt Park

Lower Hutt v Napier @ Fraser Park

Miramar v Petone @ Dave F

Olympic win they win the league.

If Olympic lose or draw it's likely that Miramar will win the league

Napier have to win and hope Olympic lose and Miramar lose or draw

incredible that Miramar have a very good chance of winning but have never been top of the league at any stage. Whereas Napier have lead for 10 weeks and have the smallest of chances.

a very close league this year and great to see olympic win with so much passion and the die hard supporters also being included.

lets hope this is a sign of more close football in the capital and that it leads to stronger clubs all around.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

Just nice to see them actually click. Only took the entire season to get there

Congrats Olympic. Loved the passion from their supporters.

I must also add my congratulations.   I don't know a lot of the newer, younger players but I recognise the grey-haired supporters in the photographs.

Their supporters are always good value.   I can remember when Greece won Euro 2004.   In those days our office was in Adelaide Road, just down the road from the Olympic clubrooms.   There were plenty of Greek flags paraded on and up Adelaide Road that morning.   I would guess that not many Greeks made work that day.

They all treated Jeff, Andy and I pretty well.

Does anybody know where the play-off between Taranaki and Waterside is being played tomorrow at 2pm? Not on Capital Website.

Naki playoff is at Webster Field or something - which is apparently part of NPBHS according to Greenie posted here http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/categories/regional-f...
