Mick Waitt's removal from Olympic confirmed in this morning's DomPost (if you can believe what you read)

My spies reckon it was more to do with a clash of personalities at the top than results. Si+Jamie will do a good job, and I'd imagine there'll be clubs queuing up for Mick next year, so I'm sure everyone will move on pretty quickly.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

to me it seems that there is more to it as it is unlikely that they would be able to win from here unless Miramar fall over badly somewhere and half there squad is laid up for three weeks.

so the sacking could of waited until the end of the season as there is no threat of relegation or winning for Olympic unless there is some other unreported issues that made it better to sack him now.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

Upper Hutt 4-3 over Lower Hutt. Good game in the Fraser Park Mud. Corales Hat trick and sent off. Still trying to figure why! Phil Patterson also sent of with Lower Hutt player following a scuffle after Lower Hutt player threw an elbow following a tangle on the ground.

Hmm. Lower Hutt player wasn't the one who dropped the elbow. It was Patterson dropping elbow on the LH player (not sure who he is, didnt check number) while he was on the ground. Heard afterwards from a LH supporter that he also added a few choice words to the player while he was onto of him. LH player got up and retaliated by giving  Patterson a shove. Then hell broke loose. Red card for both. One for action other for retaliation I believe. Not sure what Corrales red was for. Ref had a mare of a game.No holding pulled up all which there was plenty of.

Was very heated game.

The story with Van Elia is that he only left Olympic because of Mick, and after some racist comments at training by a fellow Miramar player he wanted out.

Just what I heard though.

I heard it's because he has an EPL belief and Cap prem talent.

Did he play on the weekend for Mar? Or did they train this morning?

Apparently it was last week, and whilst not being innocent himself in the argument, it seems like only he was punished for the incident. Could be misinformed though.

so the skirmish was pre Cup game - yet he played - and perhaps would have played again had they won...??

Wjy did Luis Corrales get sent off? Anyone?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Seemed the ref saw something in a challenge that no one else at the ground saw.  Foot was a bit high  certainly no intent and did not connect. Could have maybe seen a yellow out of it.

Spoke to the Asst Ref tonight he said Lower Hutt Player jumped for a header and Corrales went straight through him with no intention of going for the ball, sounds different to what is being said here

Not really sure but upshot is Patterson 2 Weeks for Violent conduct, Corales 1 week Serious Foul Play and Lower Hutt player Nathaniel 1 week serious foul play. Couple of Pics fromf Cam showing aftermath.

I haven't spoken to Phil since but unlikely he would be involved in anything unprovoked I would have thought

Sounds like Phil put an elbow across Nathanials chest after taking some exception to him climbing all over him for a header which saw everyone on the ground. Probably all a fair cop then.

During the incident Mr Patterson was heard to shout "for god's sake man be careful. I'm 67 year's old!"
