3 team title race. What a boring league.

It is a little boring when the top couple of teams basically beat up on the rest. Looks a bit like ASBP. 1-2 teams throw $ at the CL, the rest can't compete with that so don't even bother.

Then there is rapa who throw more $ than anyone and still can't compete :p

Completely contrasting the Northern Premier League in Auckland.  3 teams tied top of the table, 1 point covering the top 5 and 3 points covering the top 7!

Tightest league in years!

So how did the NPL end up. Hmm what's this....Glenfield finished 16 points clear?

1 game to go - NCR missed the chance to pip Wests. But has a strong history and try to roll Olympic. It was nice to take the title after a game that has become Wgtn's biggest inter-club game of the season. No flares for a couple of seasons.

has paul ifill still not shown his hand?

maybe this is one of the two clubs?

it would be nice to keep him local….

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

He took the u19s to Napier but that is it and he is no longer with the club.

Yikes really. I've had a rocky relationship with Brendan over the years. He's got up in my face, blanked me, and been a real prick but he has also been friendly and we've had some interesting football chats. But whatever you think of him there is no denying the fact that he's made a significant contribution to football in Wellington. He was a hell of a player, and he's been a coach who has always championed young players.

I wonder what sort of terms he left on.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah I'd agree with that assessment of him. Doesn't sound like he has left on the best of terms. That Lower Hutt board can be interesting to deal with.

Different to what I've heard from players and parents.

Interesting that they all say the club wanted him to stay but they cant afford a full time coach now as the money to pay one is drying up. I guess we will see if there's any truth in that when a replacement is signed.

Jose Quijada to coach Tawa

Permalink Permalink

Wow a lot of new coaches then in central league for 2014. If I am correct:

Miramar - New Coach - TBC

Wests - The Same - Lloyd and Declan

Wairarapa - New Coach - TBC/Paul Ifill

Olympic - New Coach - Besim

Napier - The Same or Bill Robertson staying in Wellington

Petone - The Same - G Little

Massey - New Coach - TBC

Lower Hutt - New Coach - Mick

Tawa - New Coach - Jose Quijada

Stop Out - The Same - Whoever it is.

That could potentially be 7 new coaches if Bill doesn't take Napier
