I suspect it may be a hybrid device + paper approach in the first season. More details as season gets closer

or just having a break - also he won't be available until after Team Wellington's OCL campaign, which going on the last 3 seasons is safe to assume they'll make the final of which the second leg is May 20th

Have heard that Wharfies have lost several players from last seasons squad?

Could be a short stay in CL depending on how they recruit.

Scots' football is only tied in with the Nix on the education/boarding school side of things. The kids then play for Scots at the academy's discretion.

When will Cap Football finally fix their website so we can see the clearances page and start gossiping about player movements?

Every club has a version of "open trials"

Commonly called pre season training

You're such an idiot 'Watching from far'. Any opportunity to slate NCR on here you take it. Even though you are a huge advocate of Brett & HBU - who also by the way had 'open trials' for their pre-season (as did Auckland City - see, wow, not that uncommon is it).

You're clearly someone who feels they've been done wrong by NCR in the past and held a huge grudge. As your name states and as you often mention you're now out of the region, how about you turn your attentions to your new local scene and move on with life...rather than having a pop at one of the good clubs (along with many others) that are in OUR region.

If you were still here you'd realise the clubs are trying to work closer together than ever before including the coaches of the clubs, but you're not, so I suggest keep your uneducated opinions to yourself.

Fear point, Hbu have always held trials i agree. I have never heard that from NCR, all players that are good enough and want to be there would normally be there. No grudge, just think they could be doing better in some areas which they never seem to change. Which I have mentioned else where on forum. Its my uneducated opinon which I guess makes me an idiot. Apologise for the upset dunkingdount.

Let me add some official "spin" to the mix.

NCR are trying very hard to be more inclusive and, as stated by DD, there appears to be a lot more going on between the Clubs locally - in my opinion, it is about time - we are a small region and we need to cooperate for the benefit of all.  In the past there have been mutterings from other Clubs that NCR was a "closed shop", there were "no development opportunities for local players", or "no chance of local players outside NCR getting an opportunity".

A decision was made that there would be a trial and anyone from any other Club that wanted to have a go is now given the opportunity to do so.  It will be interesting to see how many local players front up and take the opportunity.  Unfortunately, our pool of local youth is fairly shallow (see the HBU Youth results) and there seems to be a lack of interest or ambition from many in the 17/18/19 age range (see the U19 results and yes WFA, we were pretty slack along with a couple of other local clubs).

Trial day will be interesting and even if we don't get a hell of a lot from the other clubs, at least they have had the opportunity.  And, by the way, we are not short of potential players for a team.

Don't piss off old people - the older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent
