Used to be fun to be able to see the transfers between clubs, is this not publicly accessable anymore?

Same sentiment in the Mainland Premier League thread. Blame Comet.

How else are they going to pay all those players?

This seems to be the only acting thread for CF at the moment... Does anyone know how I put in a transfer request these days? Haven't done one for a while... Thanks!

Capital Football needs this like NFF page http://www.nff.org.nz/ABOUT/COMET/COMET-Help-Guide...

Here is the transfer information https://www.sporty.co.nz/asset/downloadasset?id=dd...

Awesome, thanks!

Wellington United are still hunting for trialists on Twitter today. Do they have a functional team?

Have heard of a potential signing for Napier City, Aaron Clapham... Just a rumour at this stage, but from a very reilable source.

Jeez, I hope it stays a rumour and your source is not as reliable as you thought.  Aaron has a job in Christchurch and I don't like the thought of flying him to Napier or thereabouts each week for the Central League season.  We don't have a lot of millionaires involved in football up this way.

Aaron would be a great addition, but he wasn't on Bill's wish-list. I guess time will tell, although time is running out.

Has someone (Well utd?) pulled out of central league? Looks like comet now showing only '9' teams in the comp?

Permalink Permalink

Where are you looking?
Both Cap Footy fixtures and comet show all 10 teams.

Stirring maybe? ;)

Permalink Permalink

In comet, you can try and find all capital football comps as.a.summary. It says 9 teams for central league. Yes, fixtures still show unchanged.

That's Cap Footy's ATD - its a manually entered figure on the competition information page.
All of the teams are showing inside the actual competition.

Anyway to find out transfers or team squads?

Permalink Permalink

Any predictions on the league this year? There isn't a tipping comp for Central league so thought I'd ask here. Surely Napier win it again. Can't see anyone touching them based on transfers but maybe they'll be without a few players for the first few games.

We shall see this weekend!

Stop Out and Olympic will be right up there!! Both have spent up large this year.

Capital football has put out a season preview  https://www.sporty.co.nz/capitalfootball/newsarticle/74866?newsfeedId=547518&em=1#

Some notes:

Waterside Karori - Only adding reinforcements where there are gaps in the squad, coach Crump backs his young talent.

Stop Out - Core group of players return, change in coaching staff having recruited the services of Jared Cunniff & Ryan Benson from Lower Hutt City, while Scott Henderson returns after a stint back from the UK.

Wellington Olympic - Recruited former National League Golden Boot, Tom Jackson, and former Wellington Phoenix Goalkeeper, Keegan Smith. Return of club legends Chas Lawrence, George Barbarouses & Jimmy Haidakis

Wairarapa United - Retirement of Phil Keinzley from Central League coaching. Looking to the Paul Ifill Football Academy to help produce the next tier of players. Veteran Paul Ifill still on the roster.

Napier City Rovers - Secured the services of 2018 Central League Golden Boot winner, Martin Bueno.

North Wellington - Magno Vieira replaces Lloyd O’Keefe as coach for the season. Vieira has kept the core of the Capital Premier side. Recruited Jesse Randall from Island Bay. Will be without Chas Lawrence who returns to Wellington Olympic, and Kieran Cripps, who has retired.

Western Suburbs -  Ben Sippola takes the reigns of the Suburbs team from Declan Edge and will begin with a new young cycle of players with most of last year’s side not returning to the team after their National League duties end with Eastern Suburbs.

Miramar Rangers - Recuited Hawkes Bay United Defenders James Marsh & Jorge Akers, Tasman United defender Jake Williams who appeared for Wellington United in the 2018 season and Fletcher Kelleher the 19-year-old signing from Birkenhead United in Auckland.

Lower Hutt - At their new home of the Fraser Park Sportsville, as well as the new partnership with the Wellington Phoenix Academy. Academy Director, Paul Temple, will take the reigns of the Central League side.

Wellington United - With the club’s relationship with the Wellington Phoenix Academy ending at the end of the 2018 season, coach Renaldo ‘Rapha’ Christians takes over the team. Christians was previously Head Coach in the 2014 season where Wellington United finished 4th in Capital Premier. Signed Manny Achol, previously at Lower Hutt City.

So the West’s lads aren’t coming back?

A couple are, but most of them have other opportunities coming up or are staying in Auckland to prepare for the U20 World Cup.

Was at a coaches' meeting at Wests last night, they intend to livestream (home?) games this season, probably via YouTube

Ollie Basset (Waitakere) and Joseph Ellul (Tasman) at Miramar as well from what I hear. Were supposed to play for North Welligton but was told by a Miramar player that they weren't impressed with how NW was set up and decided to play Miramar instead, and will serve a stand down period.

Can't verify how accurate but found it interesting.

Still poked. Council say mid-april end date for the road repair. Park on James Cook and walk best advice.

The game has been moved to Olé because Endeavour isn't quite ready following a turf re-laying.

Bizarre as cap prem still on at endeavour?

Permalink Permalink

Cap Prem now listed as Ole as well.

If pre-season friendlies are anything to go by West's could have at least 9 in the match day squad who are all 17 or under with potentially 7 starters.

That's a seriously young side.

Yeah Chas was the Captain

Maksym Kowal was the golden boot last year for them with 26 goals

Cripps got 5 but only started 6 games (was subbed on in 11 though) - Cripps got the all time record for North Wellington last season with 62, beating Brian "Minties" Bullen who has 58 - not bad for a defender

No need for car parking at Endeavour then. They can all ride their skateboards.
