any news as to georgie b departure from LH back home?

ps big fan of this move!

George being one of the top players in the team, I hear that he was told he didn't make the standard of central league by the coach and that he wasn't wanted in the team.

That sounds like a massive load of bollocks to me.

Just saying.

If the coach did say those words how could George be sure they were being said to him

I dont agree with some of his man management which is most probably the reason so many players have moved on, but to be fair to the coach I think he has done a fantasic job bringing some of those lads up from junior football to senior football over the last 3 seasons. It would be unfair to sack him at this stage (it's not as if Lower Hutt have ever been a winning club) based soley on results. The proof of his ability will be shown in the next few years as the "kids" further develop.

Good win today for Wests over Maycenvale 4-3.  Very entertaining game on the best pitch in Wellington.  Atmosphere helped by some very welcome Laphroigh - even if it was dressed up in an odd Villa hipflask.

Who was in Goal for Lower Hutt today?

Didnt see anything about that injury on NZF site. They do have 3 keepers in the squad.

McPeake was in goal.

Fraser Stewart (Rangers Soccer School coach) was in goal for Lower Hutt (and was outstanding by the way!)

James McPeake (former Lower Hutt goalie) was in goal for Miramar until he was taken to hospital.

Scott Basalaj is at the U17s World Cup.

Both Keepers earned their corn in that one (as the scoreline suggests neither defence dominated)

Hutts defence was without both recognised central defenders, not sure what Mars reason would be, seemed one of their stronger line ups to me.

More let down and non achievment from the 15-20 yr olds for the massive trophy machine that was once LHAFC!

Yeah, I knew that. Thats why I was wondering why Toffeeman was saying he was injuried and there was nothing about it on the NZF website.

apparently Calcott slapped the hand away of one of the young LH defenders when he tried to shake after the game.

hahaha.
he is really classy!!

does anyone here think he is bigger than the game?
TW's should be honoured to have him!!

Are you sure it wasnt a high five that missed

I also think TW should be happy to have him. He's a winning coach.

That was a fantasic effort by the youngsters than Feverish considering Miramars backline also conceded 3 goals

Word on the street is that club captain Peter Howe has left Lower Hutt mid season and has travelled North to team up with his old playing mate Pedro!

With George and now Peter leaving - I believe the oldest player in that team is the Keeper at 22! Stop Press2011-06-22 08:34:47

As BoganUH has pointed out on the Football Central Premier League 2011 thread, Upper Hutt have secured another signing from Lower Hutt - Rodney Mays.

Yes I know Rod has not played C/L this year BUT it is another senior player to leave the club!

The BIG question is " Is Lower Hutt turning into a creche"?

Perhaps the Water Safety money was conditional on setting up after school programs??

lower hutts 1st and 2nd team would be doing a lot better if it was not for the big loss of so many faces over the last 2-3 years!!!and why have they all left - mr mcintyre!!probably 30+ players would have left for other clubs in that period!!why has quality such as garcias, howe, mays, gulley, blackburn and many many more jumped ship???because the gaffe cannot be trusted, runs a dictatorship style regime and talks sh*te!!even a big group in the committee want him gone, but he manages to hold on to his role at the big spending $$ club, underachievers due to the success of his st pats boys at youth level and the junior set up!!no other reason. his time is up!!

Hmmm, Lower Hutt's first team are only 3 points off second place in Central League.

Seconds are struggling though, only a couple of points off the drop in Cap One.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

yea, hes definately changed things round there, coudnt say if its for good or bad though. Done well with his youth, but otherwise.......

Brendan has always had a strong youth focus.  From memory he gave the likes of Mikey Halikias, George Barbarouses and John Gerondis their starts in first team football while he was at the Greeks, along with others that are less well known and/or not playing in Wellington anymore.  Think he did the same at Wests when he was there, but that's going back a ways so I couldn't name names.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

He has done well with the youth, but i get the feeling from the kids that they are only staying together for U19's then there going to tell macca to get fuked.... Most the kids have known each other since 11 grade JPL...

I think he has done great with the Junior Programme at Lower Hutt. Can't give an opinion on the senior teams and his coaching style.
I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Anyone in Petone and know the Petone - Wests result?
