New coaching pair at Mar I hear - Calcott and Probert (ex Wests 2nd team coach). They're apparently amassing a daemon squad - any notable additions to last years?

How about a sweep, $10 entry, 1 point for every correct teams final position, winner/winners split pool, I'm in, who else? payout at a bar, winners choice, we will drink it anyway but a bit of humour.

Do you know something we don't. Great side with lots of time together(most there for atleast 6-7 seasons) but lack that creativity in midfield without Rowan and maybe Pickers for the start of the season. Raynor may help that a bit. Lots of great young talent coming through though.
I hope they do well and will be there to watch when ever I can. They could also be the darkhorse again.

Its no longer a problem.

how on earth has everyone got the bubbles finishing lower than 3rd (besides uncle steve)

the mar will be quality and dom will score a hat full.

wilson united dont even have a team to compete in the cap prem yet and will lose their first up game against tawa.

fiji have been the same for 5years that i have played them. filled with indivduals who are all there for the money.no unity, dont like the rain and still have the same back line that leaked more than 40 goals last year. Instead of paying all there players they need a coach. having said all that they will porb finish in the top four.

bubbles didnt loose a game in 26 last year with the same team this year minus george. but george has been nicely replaced by last years on floating light on the titanic, kamri.

Three for me, and two for them.

Their financial backer went bust, so they couldn't afford to fly their coach and their team in from around the country.  Ended up pulling out. 2ndBest2010-03-27 23:10:40

Hmm. So they still play local or what? Bit sad that a football club gets run that way in this country tbh.

Three for me, and two for them.

Think they play in the Pacific League.
Permalink Permalink

last year they played in the eastern league [gisborne's local comp] after pulling out of the pacific league due to more political issues within the club. they didn't do to well in that comp either. they were a sh!te club with no interest in local players or even local talented juniors so they were only going to last as long as the money did. they were the butt of many jokes in gisborne for a few years, not a lot of people liked them or what they were doing. i have heard that they are looking to enter the pacific league [or central federation league - the old league being reformed apparently] this year and doing so with a good group of local players. i have never been a fan of theirs but i wouldn't mind seeing them make it back to central league but the politics within gisborne football prevents any one club putting together a team of the best players from the area - like taranaki have. i would much rather my old club, gisborne thistle make it but there are to many stubborn heads running the clubs there. football in gisborne suffers without a central league team.

Fuck this stupid game
