Those are seriously dodgy by the way.  They're a list of registered players but only vaguely reflect this weekend's match day squads.

$50 fine if you dont provide CF with a squad list for Central and Prem league teams by noon Wed's.
I wonder how many names you can include in your squad and if that squad has to resemble in any way who's on the card for the game. If its nowhere near accurate than why bother?

In no way does it resemble the match day squad. The reason for the noon Wed deadline is so that the list can go out in time for program printing. Forget the fact that late Thursday is the earliest any coach confirms his squad, everyone just says to CF, yep no changes to the squad this weekend even though they know full well that Jonny is at a wedding, Bill broke his leg, and Pete is back from holiday. So the squad list in the program is about as useful as a stopped watch to the average punter who turns up on the Sat arvo to watch a game and tries to match actual numbers to player names.

Mar failed to provided us with them Cap Prem list after multiple requests (sack Calcott).

I put every name under the sun in for my women's team so glad everyone does it.

Smithy,  KP was sending out a fine every week to a club who was sending in its list with "no changes to the squad from last week".

I can not see the point of clubs being compelled to create programs for the 2 horses and the donkey that come to watch.

It is just a way for CP to collect more dollars when clubs slip up,"Sorry your list was late and the fine is in the post"

A club meeting a couple of years ago, it was suggested that programs be done only if a club wished to, however CF turned this request down flatly.

miramar 1-0 over petone, sam jenkins the scorer, should have been alot more though, jenkins hit the post with a 25 yard bullet and the mar dominated for good periods of the game but couldn't convert, rowe looking a bit rusty. petone a bit understrength though, no whitmarsh pickering or mclay but still battled hard but didn't look to threaten much

Wests 1:3 Tawa (and Tawa scored all 4). Mikey Ramaekers got the hat trick, Jamie Nicholas got the oggy.

Wests were absolutely f**king woeful. Nothing like last years squad. But I do think Tawa played great footy and shouldnt have a problem performing in CL if they can continue playing the way they did this arvo.

And who was no.9 up front for Wests? Useless. Reminded me of Corrica with the grey hair but unfortunately for him thats where the similarities end... hahaAJ132010-04-02 16:19:27

That would be this Nathan Knox.

Also on the team were this Dan O'Brien and this Nathaniel Winkel.

I wonder how many Tawa players have Wikipedia entries? Smithy2010-04-02 16:44:27

Watched the first half of the Hutt v Olympic game which was pretty messy. Watched the second half of the Mar v Petone game and Mar looked in a different league to Petone

I was at the Suburbs v Tawa game today.

Tawa were deserved winners on the day. They did not create that many chances but the ones that they did were finished off well. Suburbs had a late shot rattle the post just before Tawa got their 3rd just on full time, so 2-2 may have been a little unjust.

I do think on what I saw today, bith teams will struggle in the Central league based on this.

I will just say again before I carry on my post that Tawa deserved to win.

Now what really gets on my wick are sore winners.

To those supporters from Tawa please get your chip off your shoulder to do with Western Suburbs, don't worry about our players or the club, just concentrate on your own club.
Just because your sons or yourself were never any good to keep on playing for Suburbs and had to move clubs get over it. Does Ole Soccer Academy upset you so much as well, maybe you should not live through life with your short comings of failing at football that you have to live it through your sons or through your hate and I do mean hate for Western Suburbs.

I know that Western Suburbs are not everyones cup of tea, but they have not broken any rules, and all clubs could get sponsors and benefactors on board, so instead of bleating about Western Suburbs put your enrgy into making your club stronger.

He had an amazing strike late in the 2nd half from probably 35 yards, keeper was well beaten and denied only by the crossbar

When I arrived, the only guy I recognised from the Wests team was Mike Smith. So many new faces.

On the game itself, Tawa just wanted it more.  Three good goals from Mikey Raemakers.  Brother Lance made a couple of good saves. Bellman and Jamie Nic pretty solid at the back.

Sounds like Lower Hutt struggled today, so they won't fancy the trip to Redwood Park on Monday.

Not sure what you saw, but I reckon you need to get your hand off it Bonzo.

Suburbs are the perennial Chelsea of the Central League - spending zillions of gaming machine dollars on players and coaching staff and usually winning everything.  And when they don't, they just spend more.  And everyone loves to beat them - nobody more than their newly promoted neighbours.

Some of my good friends are on the playing and coaching staff at Suburbs, and I still applauded plucky little Tawa for doing a number on their noisy neighbours today.

If you'd been told by a club, in the past, that you weren't good enough for them, so you went next door and battled away and got promoted into their league and then in the first game of the season you comprehensively beat that club, wouldn't you enjoy it too?

Its not that they were never good enough, I think today proved that, but they left in frustration of how the club is run, as did I.
Today was an excellent example of whats been happening at Wests for years, they dont want to invest in developing players to make them better, they just want to buy in 'strong' players. Many of that Tawa team today had started out with Wests as 5year olds and had played well over a decade of footy with them, and a few others had played for them also at some stage, but Wests never expressed any interest to keep them around.
The clubs gone to sh*t big time, which is a shame considering how large the catchment area is, and how many teams they used to have, compared to the lack of now. The final straw was drawn when most of the masters players left for Porirua City.
I wouldve loved to have stayed locally and continued playing for Wests myself, seeing as I still live in Whitby (going on 25years now), but its unrealistic to assume I would be able to settle down and play the rest of my football with the club. They dont even have a 3rd team, which is ridiculous. Youre just going to have to put up with it as long as Wilsons around mate.
