lower hutt didnt stack their team against us, only player who didnt expect to see was michael madden, who to be completely fair was an absolute waste of time playing for them, what an ass. Walking around the pitch like he didn't really give a crap, put absolutely no effort into anything he did, more of a hinderance for their team than anything, felt sorry for the guys playing around him, you should be able to expect talented players like that to bring people into the game but he did nothing of any value for Lower Hutt. I would of subbed him at half time if I was coach haha. Lower Hutt have a good bunch of young guys and I wish them well for the rest of the season

if tawa do make it through to CL they will probably be ok on the field.. however, they will have the worse set up unfortunately... clubrooms, changingibg rooms and field are all very naenae like..  no offence naenae.. hahaha

the biggest upside about about tawa possibly moving up to CL is that hopefully we will not have to put up with no mates bob from tawa

I'd trade a trip to Palmy for a trip to Onepoto anyday.

at least Tawa have:

a) clubrooms that are open during the game and
b) peoplewho want to stay after the game for a drink unlike the Mar

Good game? I think interesting was a good word for it. Just at the point, at 1-0 to Tawa,  where I thought Stop Out would go and win the game Tawa scored the second goal and the game was done.
I was bothered that two Tawa players were doing things off the ball. Interesting to my mind that Tawa's number 17 ( I think) kept reminding his team mates to focus on the game. He was a strong influence.

One or two Tawa players have got good pace. If they stay top of the league are Tawa good enough to go further? Interesting.

Redwood and Kura must be TERRIBLE then.  :)

Wow so much banter!

1. Monkeyboy- can't agree with you more. Mike Madden=talented football player, but haven't seen that talent for a few years now so just don't think that he has talent because if you have no heart, energy or commitment then you got nothing. He was exactly the same when he played against Tawa

2. JonnyCash- Normally agree with you but what absolute rubbish. Yes our ground would be very average at best especially this time of year, but if you look at other posts the changing rooms are very adequate and showers are good. The clubrooms are also one of the better ones in Wellington. If you compared the changing rooms and clubrooms to Miramar for example you would find that both are definately better!

3. Turkiye- I think you would find that the off the ball incident involved me. Nothing like a bit of in your face stuff (literally). I'm not stupid enough to take it too far and get sent off. Number 17 you would also find is Steve Romijn and the captain of the side, so if he wasn't influencing the team and reminding players to focus then he wouldn't be doing his job properly.

Fair enough FMad....  your clubrooms are always packed which is a bonus, so pretty contradictory of me since I was bashing Wests earlier in the year for not having any scene...and the rooms are better than Mar's and miles ahead of Kapiti's..
Speaking of Wests, come on kids, you can keep up with the pace of Tawa, maybe not the size though... be great for the rest of us if Wests stopped your momentum..

why is anyone comparing tawa's match day facilities to miramar's? I don't have anything to do with miramar but what I will say is how many times does anyone get transfered off their ground? There's absoloutly nothing wrong with their changing rooms or showers and their clubrooms is always a great place to go after a game and have a rather cheap beer, wether the central league team is playing or the champs premier team.  To be honest I dont know many players who don't look forward to playing at what will soon be known as Dave Farrington Park, in comparison I know alot of players who dread a trip to tawa and what ever ground you are going to have to play on out there, definitly not good the sort of facilities that central league teams would want added to their fixture list.

Hey muppet. If you read the comment I think you would find that I said that our pitch isn't up to a good standard. I know that and so does everyone elso. But JohnnyCash was saying the changing rooms and clubrooms are also not up to standard or good enough, in which is totally wrong. That is why I am compared those two things to Miramars and Tawa's would be better. More space in changing rooms, better shower and bigger showers, more people at clubrooms and overall a better well run clubroom. There is no way I was trying to put our ground anywhere near there one!!!

And who do you think you are calling people muppet for having a opinion that you dont like, bottom line, tawa's clubroom's? or miramars clubrooms? I know which one I woul choose.
Definitly wouldnt choose to be surrounded by people like you, also if I choose your clubrooms then that would mean we would have had to play on one of your crap pitches.
MUPPET!
All and all, Tawa as a club set up are not ready for central league.

Wasn't aware that "club set up" was taken into account - I thought you just had to win a promotion/relegation playoff?

Stop Out 3 LHC 0.
Stop Out were three up at half time. The second half never really went to any heights.
Learned something new though. Clattering someone is standing your ground.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

A Wests win tomorrow will make it interesting tomorrow at both the top and bottom.  But Lower Hutt need to win their last 3 games not to come last. Not going to happen.

Dairy flat,  if the player plays the ball around you and you stay stationary you dont clatter them. you dont have to move out the way of an oncoming player, so long as you dont move in his direction i.e move to block him you are ok. if that player runs into you after passing the ball then it is his fault not the stationary players. ( that is if it is the incident i think you are talking of, 2nd half supporters side with fisum??) and l/hutt sub 19??

Island Bay's draw today means that it's pretty much a two horse race for the title now. Tawa or Karori. A loss of points by Tawa tomorrow would certainly make the next few weeks interesting.

Karori does have a number of tough games ahead. Good chance Lower Hutt will be relegated before their match against Tawa so Lower Hutt may not drop down players as initially thought.

Feverish,

Yeah crap game, but you guys were clinical like good sides are.

Being the player being referred to some will say this is sour grapes, but the straight red card I received wasnt even a free kick. Your player got up even said this, so where the ref came up with what he has recorded as serious foul play I dont know.

When your coach and the player involved reckon there was nothing how you make a decision like that is crazy.

But hey there is a referees assessor, two linos and a ref who are all adamant a flying elbow was involved. Hmmmmmm

nah I believe you if you say that. Though Buckle is far too honest and prob should be banned from the game for bringing it into repute - so you can't listen to what he says

Got to watch our Game vs Island Bay after doing my hammy at training on Thursday. It was an even encounter, chances went both way with our keeper making a  few fantastic saves and at the other end our strikers missing a few sitters, we missed an early opportunity and were punished straight away for it at the other end Island Bay jumping at some relaxed defending to score a well taken goal. Rest of the game went both ways really, in the end some good pressure from us in their half caused a bit of a mix up between their keeper and their CB who was nice enough to head into his own goal for us.

Not trying to wind up any IB people here but I'm really surprised that they are second in the table, I just think that really their team is not as good as some others that we have encountered this year. But looking at their GF/GA appears that they may have got through with a lot of small wins. Grade really looks like it is Tawas to lose now though.

Sorry bob about my late reply. I've been crying about my performance for the last two days. Fair call though, probably my worst distribution this year but I didn't play that bad defensively.
There goal did start from my mistake. Overall though we didn't play that well. Definately our most scrappiest win this session, but hopefully that's a sign that we are all so hungry for that elusive winners title this year. Our defense played well but Wests definately gave a huge effort. Our keeper would have done more than the Wests keeper. Luckily for us Piney has been supurb the last two weeks after coming into the team with two of our three centre backs not available at the moment.

Apparently Wharfies now playing Naenae tomorrow (presumably bc its a match more likely to have a bearing on promo/relegation than the game v Upper Hutt as per the draw). Does that mean other Cap Prem fixtures have been amended or cancelled or what?
And Hard News, what is the state of Naenae Park - any chance we're actually going to play there?

don't really understand the need for the change of game? Every game for both clubs has the same bearing on promo/relegation? Anyways, pity, because I was looking forward to playing Wharfies again, looks like I'll be watching it instead. Not a chance you'll be play on No. 1, resembles a hippopotamus wading ground, I think I even saw News hanging around it suspiciously. No 2 wasn't too bad last week against IB, but is quite bobbly. Probably terrible now though after this weeks weather.

So is Karori confirmed for Naenae or nay? And if so what other games are on?
Permalink Permalink

Karori definitely playing Naenae.  It's quite possible that there'll only be three games of senior footy in Wellington tomorrow, although Nightz seems to think (in another thread) his team is playing, so could be wrong, but maybe...

CHATHAM CUP:

Miramar Rangers __ Waitakere Utd __ David Farrington (although major doubt over this venue)

CENTRAL LEAGUE:

Wellington United __ Taranaki __ Newtown 1;

PREMIER MEN:

Waterside Karori __ Naenae _ (venue TBC)

You'd be looking forward to a quiet day at work tomorrow Liverpool1?  Cancellations with a couple of minutes of sports in between...?

It's actually better when there are blanket cancellations (i.e everything is off)...it's reading out all the ground transfers that's the killer....
