DKP - please advise the present state of the Wake

Marius to continue his recent goal rush on his birthday tomorrow?

rush came to end last week piney im afraid. not expecting any gifts from the sharks either.

my prediction re state of the wake ... months of being cut to shreds + one dry week = bobbledrome to rival kilbirnie. might be ok if its been rolled and cut this week.

That has been known to happen at the wake (speaking as an old boy of Wakefield no 2) - and it makes a big difference. may have almost been dry enough to happen this week.

I walked past yesterday and exactly that was happening... Looked decent enough, a couple of boggy bits, but you get that at this time of year.

I asked the Council at the start of the week if they could roll it - so pleased that they did. Should leave Wakefield Wembley with only a half-sized bobble

I imagine that Lower Hutts relegation takes care of any potential for players to regrade from central league.

If anything, it may make them worse...

I think the powers that be at Lower Hutt have realised that the youngsters are proberly better off playing in Cap1 and getting some confidence, which means they will become better players. If only all clubs thought like that we wouldn't have this massive regrading debarcle that happens everytime this year.

That leaves Naenae finishing 2nd last even if they win next week.

J Theron scores the winner for Wests against Lower Hutt a week ago

Then scores the winner for the second team against Stop Out - same ol Wests always cheating. Will have to abuse him at school on Wednesday

And you'd make is over 30s and then whinge about young Karori players being "poached" by other clubs

Yesterday's was a screamer too.

The Wests Stop Out game yesterday was a pretty entertaining game.  Wests feat. Jon Harahap, Jake Theron, Ben Feld, Finlay Milne, Mike O'Keefe, Davey Johnson and an old fella with a captain's armband on who I didn't recognise playing very well at centre back.  Stop Out feat. new chief Besim "Big Voice" Balicevac and their regular lineup.

Stop Out dominated large periods of the match - Steve Gulley was fantastic, and so was the Stop Out centre half, number 5, who I didn't know.  In the first half in particular Stop Out had more of the game but just never really got a shot away.  I can't think of a save that Mike O'Keefe really had to make.  Wests relied on balls over for Feld and Theron to chase, which they did well, and always looked dangerous on the counter.  In the second spell they had more control of the match and you always got the sense that if they went ahead they'd win it - Stop Out just never quite looked comfortable.

Theron's goal came from the left hand side, I'm going to say from about 20 yards but I was a way away so couldn't really judge.

Wests stay safe and Besim goes hunting for a striker I'd say.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Not much being said on this anymore. What is Stop Out going to do this week can they get some points against Wharfies this week or are Wharfies going to keep staying on the heels of Tawa?

Stop Out will get the points.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

ok then, Tawa to blow out this weekend in stunning upset to a Kapiti side hugely motivated by having been written off and determined to have an influence on the outcome of the league.

Would have happened if only Kapiti were playing them this weekend! Tawa play LH who have got no chance unless a ref gives them a helping hand!

wharfies to choke first....I know from experience that teams in black and white stripes cannot handle the pressure

just read the island bay match report - gotta laugh

"The linesman finally saw Tahl being fouled by Adam Crump, but unfortunately this time it was for a blatant elbow to Tahl's teeth, which was the final straw for Tahl and resulted in him being shown red as well."

no mention of the 15 wild haymakers he threw, just mysteriously "resulted in him being shown a red card".

Peter Withers became Tawa's all-time leading goalscorer today.  Over four seasons, he's now scored 56 goals in 66 games.  Staggering.

Would he be the top scorer for the prems this year? He or Fenton, Sutherland?

I think Peter has 20 in the league this season now and Mikey Raemakers has 15.

Bit of a shame that Jason Pine character didn't play a full season. With his strike rate I reckon he would've pushed 30 goals this year.

Not even Pineys goals though. To be honest he has been bloody quality since stepping into the first team squad. Could definately see him playing for the rest of the season and playoff games with his form
