Nope, Mike Wood the president, said at the Tawa club after the match on Saturday, that they were going to send the video footage in.
 
 
 
Has Cap Ftball ever overturned a decision based on video or would this be creating a precedent?Good Luck.
If successful I will appeal all my previous 20 red cards and seek a refund of about a grand in fines.

Tawa did have a couple of chances towards the start of the game that they should have taken, however I agree that apart from that, LH's defence didn't look too troubled, though obviously helped by only playing against 10-men

In regards to Pedro advising the on field ref of the red-card, I thought I heard Pedro say that he hadn't told the other ref anything. On a (not overly) interesting side note, Pedro only managed half the game after pulling up with a hamstring injury

Overheard a convo today with a referee, apparntly points will stay as is, but suspention could be overtturned.

There's no way they would replay or turn around a result, over one dodgy sending off.

Overturn the card sure, but the result, hah!

i think they meant overturn the result as some people thought lower hutt were playing a player who had received 5 yellow cards and hence had to miss a game.

Yea Luis had his 5th card against miramar in the midweek game but as the suspension doesnt go through till the following week, he was able to be re-graded and turn out for the reserve team on saturday. The red card wasnt really fair but in saying that it wasnt a case of Luis just running into the centre back and flattening himself. Being on the field and looking straight at it, it looked to me like the centre back made no attempt to let Luis by, which he doesnt have too, but he doesnt have to flatten him the way that he did either. No doubt if the same had happend to my side I would be pritty pissed off, how ever it was a liitle dissapointing to see how some of the supporters were acting for the rest of the game.Fair play to the tawa boys they played on till the final whistle as best they could with 10 men and even created afew more chances and to be fair have had another almost there kind of season.

i dont know how that works.  When Tawa played Olympic in the Chatham Cup, which was scheduled to be played Monday Queens Birthday, Olympic were very keen to play because Raf received his 5th yellow card that saturday and they wanted the monday game to be his suspension game before facing a central league team in the league.  So if you have midweek games you can pick and choose when your suspension stands??? Obviously Not but if you know Lower Hutt then you know that the powers that be in the club would have checked the ruling with capital football before saturday. So as I understand the rule is that when susspended in a week, the susspension doesnt take place untill the following week and is a susspension for one week as appose to one game. But maybe someone else can clarify their understanding of the rule?

Does that put him out for the rest of the (second team's) season? If he received the card in the last match of the year for the 1sts that is....

Yeah you would think Lower Hutt would definitely check with Cap Football first, in saying that there are many clubs in the past that have played ineligible players due to misinterpreting the rules.
 
Capital Football's 2008 regulations state that "suspensions arising from red cards of the accumulation of yellow cards shall be served in accordance with NZF Regulation 7."
 
NZF Regulation 7 states "A person accumulating 5 cautions should receive a one-match suspension. The player shall be suspended from all football until the team, for which the player received the majority of the 5 cautions playing for, has played the required number of games."
 
There is no mention of the suspension not taking place until the following week, but maybe this rule has come from somewhere.

From that ruling it might appear so....but equally, as mentioned before, you would have to believe that LH would have had it all completely checked out before they played

either way i think marist are due an explaination from capital soccer as to why they are willing to bend the rules for lower hutt

i can't belive tawa would bother to argue this ( infact oranje) come on the season is over. finished 2nd three years in a row no use blamming those loses on this stupid yellow card rule. as for sean i would imagine he would be only to happy to call the season quits a week early.
 
the only people who shoul;d be trying to get something out of this rule should be marist not tawa.

or miramar....they still could go down, and if the result is overturned and tawa take the points then hutt would need to win both games to finish above mar?

I'm not the one lodging the protest, just bringing it to people's attention. Tawa ain't going to win by 12 goals in their last game (if tawa got the win), but i'm sure that Marist and Miramar as well for that matter are interested. If the result of the match was to be overturned it could have a huge impact on the season

I don't know if the arguement is correct or not, but the rule in questions is if Luis was playing for LH seconds without sitting out a suspension for having 5 yellow cards for the firsts (the last one supposedly recieved on Wednesday vs Miramar).

Again, I have NO idea how many cards he actually has, or how the rule should be interpreted

My god don't you just love forums...
Lower Hutt have done nothing wrong if Luis was booked on the Wednesday he can still play the Saturday as the club must be informed by Capital Soccer that he is suspended ( he is only suspended when they are informed ) and that can only happen after the Refs report on the game is received by Capital soccer which is normally three or four days after the game. So I would imagine that this week is when he is suspended.

i thought it was pretty much up to the club to know that a player has it sit out a game. We never get to hear it even within one week - so whats the diff?

I think if you check with Capital football you will find out that a player is not suspended for a game until the club is advised by Capital football.
 
In Luis case it is highly likely that :
a) The team card was not received in time for capital football to record the yellow card ; and or
b) The referee's report  had yet been received which would have noted Luis's card on it.
 
My understanding having dealt with Capital football is that they will not process a card until they have the referees report.
 
Therefore Lower Hutt have not broken any rules.
 
The interesting thing is that Luis will have to serve his suspension with the team for which he has received the majority of his yellow cards. I assume that this would be the Central league side . So this would mean he can't play again for Lower Hutt until he had served the one game suspension with their Central league side so I guess he would miss the first game next season.

Read the rules - it says that the club needs to keep track -regardless of whether notification is received

subpart 9(c) of the NZF rules clearly overules subpart 9(b)
 
so capital soccer post NZF rules on their website but dont abide by them?

We had an interest one in cap 2 during the season. One of our boys got sent off for swearing after about 20 mins of the game. We ended up losing 4-0 to tawa. The following week we stood him down even though we hadn't heard anything yet from capital football. When all the fines etc came through his one wasn't on it. It appears the ref changed his mind about the decision and didn't send it in on the report. He ended up standing down for no reason.At least it saved him from having to pay a fine.

I've heard of a similar incident where a player stood down for his compulsory week, played the week after that, and only found out he actually had a 2-week suspension following that. It didn't matter though as they lost the game anyway.

Having discussed a similar matter with Capital Soccer the answer I got was very clear.

A player is suspended from playing for any team at a club until he has served the one game ban with the team  for whichhe has received the majority of his cards.
 
eg 3 yellow  cards ( Central ) + 2 yellow cards (Premier) = 1 game suspension in Central league.
 
Capital Soccer  have also indicated that clubs will get no credit for standing down players when they get their 5th yellow card.
 
Ie -  If you stand a player down and are not notfied by Capital soccer that they are suspended then that game doesn't count as their suspension game.
 
So I would say that you won't see Louis in a game for Lower Hutt until next season  and if Lower Hutt are involved in play offs to stay in Premier then he will be one player they won't be able to use.

Sounds like a fairly succinct answer, even if a little different from the rules. Hope they get that letter out to them this week then
