I actually went for a watch and see. From what I saw I reckon there was only 5-6 first team Olympic players (not the entire team as stated earlier) and 4-5 Miramar first team squad players. Miramar deserved their win thats for sure they had heart and passion and wanted it more, alot of the olympic boys looked like they didnt want to be there. Was one of the worst games I have ever seen Raf play Kai tore him apart with speed and tenacity. Kai and Patrick in the Mar midfield were outstanding. If that was the team that they had all year and they played like that all year why were they there as I managed to see alot of CPL this season and there are way worse teams than them. Well done Mar you deserved it.

ok an idea that was suggested to me recently

no grading players down from 6 weeks out from the end of the season?? can't make injurys as an excuse because you can still grade players up.. would make clubs think very hard about their teams as the crunch time of the season comes about

thoughts??

Player goes up from 2nds to replace injuried player. After 2 weeks injuried player returns. Player who goes up stays up and club wants to re-grade someone else down. Will they be allowed?

or
Player has come off the bench for 1st team in last few games. Coach wants to give him some more game time so needs to regrade him down to get a full game. Will they be allowed.

this is why it should only be bought into play 6 weeks from the end, gives everyone enough time to get plenty of playing time under their belt and will make the teams think wisely about the teams they are going to have at the crunch time of the season.

I agree with nightz second point. A player who is coming off the bench, and often only getting 10 or 15 minutes for the first team shouldn't be stopped from playing the a fair portion, if not all of the second team's games.

Along the same lines, a lot of clubs will play have their 2nd team keeper on the bench for the 1sts.  If the 1st team keeper gets injured and the 2nd team keeper plays, but the 1st team keeper recovers for the following week, is the 2nd team keeper unable to play for anybody else for the last however many weeks?

Some provisos would have to written into the rule....

Your second team keeper though is playing up.  He wouldn't be impacted by that.

I reckon name a number (call it twelve) to first team squad and only three can play down.  Have two points early in the season where you can change that list.

According to the rules this year, as soon as that keeper plays for the 1st team, he is a member of the first team, is he not? In which case he'd have to be regraded down the next week, which according to the suggestion he wouldn't be allowed to

i think goalkeepers could be a seperate rule upon themselves as you said most second team keepers play 1sts bench.
