Na its not that a 9-0 defeat doesnt matter, its just that it doesnt really feel that bad when you come out and smoke the 2nd team in the league 3-0. Roy Clark only got 15 minutes on sunday for the 1sts and is now back in the 2nds this weekend after missing afew good chances to put the 1st team ahead against Napier.
Its a sign of a quality club to have their 1st team playing in central league and their 2nd team in champs premier. How many wellington clubs have that?

There were a few upsets today. West over Petone - I thought Wests were going to struggle for players this weekend.
UH easily over Bay  - is Matt Bennett playing for UH?.
L Hutt beat Tawa - Roy Clark could be top scorer in Central and Prem Lge at this rate.
Kapiti over BNU - Frankie Manclark scoring - any relation Frankie Mac?

Petone were unlucky to loss to West with West two goals coming from defensive errors from Petone rather than anything special from West . Petone goalkeeper probably cost them the 2nd goal when he failed to gather what looked like a routine shoot and the West striker put the ball away. That maybe a bit harsh given the condition but he should have save it. At the end of the day full credit to West who held on for the three points despite alot of pressure from Petone in the 2nd half .
In terms of Uppr Hutt I think you'll find that both Wayne Rooker and Matt Bennett have signed for Upper Hutt from Stop Out.

Petone keeper was at fault for the first goal. No doubt. Second one was 50/50. Condidtions didnt help but should have done better. Their usual keeper is back next week for what is looking like a cracker game against Upper Hutt with their new signings.
Do UH have some coin now cause why else would you go there from Stop Out?

Its no longer a problem.

Word has it Wests had 11 behind the ball for large periods.  Can you confirm Toffeeman?

Because we have the same first name?  God I hope you don't have more than 2 kids Feverish - it will get very confusing in your house.

That would be a pretty accurate assesment. They are a very organised team and funneled back very quickly. The ref was from Auckland and in Wellington for a dirty weekend wth "his missus" and he tried to ref the game. In fairness his mind was probably else where. Some interesting calls to say the least. Conditions were aweful for catch up football in the second half.

Its no longer a problem.

Well they did just demolish Island Bay who were doing alright...

But I meant towards the bottom of the table, theyve still got plenty of games to climb out of the relegation zone

Is Roy Clark back in the 1st team, 4 goals in 2 games he must be back in form. And also what Scottish club does he came from or is he a product of the Lower Hutt youth system?

hahahaha u must be takin the p!$$......Roy Clark is a Costa Rican! now if you want a LHCAFC youth system product.....your lookin for Rod Mays.....similar to Roy Clark as well.........they're....ummmm.....both left footed......and.....there names start with "R"

Must have a Scottish dad !!!!!!!    did not know he was from  Costa Rica,
Permalink Permalink

and hes a dark costa rican as well, Luis and Miguel are relatively fair skinned compared to RC. His 2 middle names are Spanish tho.

i remember a history teacher at high school saying there was a big migration to south america from europe back in the day.....maybe thats where the Clark bit comes in.

Maybe Roy Clark isnt even his real name?
He probably couldnt be bothered trying to get everyone over here to pronounce his real name properly!
Not sure if hes back in the first team yet, guess weel know after training tonight.

Haha yea chopper, hope thats not a crack at Lower hutts Youth policies.
Theres plenty more better examples than me. E.g 80% of the Champs Premier team.
Last week they fielded 7 players that will feature in their under 19s team this year, and of the whole squad only three were over 21.

A match which was played in difficult conditions turned out to be quite an entertaining affair!!!Last week the Tawa lads were gracious in defeat and accepted it like real men!!!

Its a credit to their club to be honest!!!
A superb logjam in the fight for 2nd place has appeared...
How many teams qualify for the champions league...uefa cup and the one mighty intertoto cup???

Is LH Res really u19s? I saw quite a few non u-19s. If they are, surely that coach of theirs must be a bad example to the youngters (just jokes)..

well the "vs Tawa" version was certainly not an U19s team!

Blair Easthope, Steve Gulley, TK, Scotty Jr, Roy Clark.......dats nearly half the team! but yes for the most part they are an U19 team.....with the exception Scotty Jr and TK.....whereas I qualify as an U19 player.........Under19 STONE! but onyl just

Petone/Lower Hutt are off to the promised land of Champions League  Football
Tawa/Wharfies to do battle in the UEFA Cup
Intertoto Cup? it might as well be the Shut the Far Cup!

They should be a shore thing to win the Napier 19's again this year  with the form they are showing now !!!!!!!!!!    Has Lower Hutt ever won this ?

Anyone got any comments on their games?
Wharfies had a water battle against Wests. Experience and grit showed through in the end for a Wharfies win. Wests played some good football in the middle of the park considering the conditions.

The weather affected the ref badly at Bell. It appeared he had mud in his eye affecting his vision for most of the game.

Oh come on Nightsy!!! U loved it!!!

The match was quite an entertaining game.
Its never easy against Kapiti who have alot of physical power and aerial threat from both corners and throw ins.

The red card was a very harsh one tho but hey 10 men for 28mins was an exceptional effort yesterday considering 8 of 11 players were youth team...yet again!!!

No first teamers called up yesterday was there???

Maybe some players that played yesterday are actually more potent than the first teamers!!!
