Champs Premier League

Champions League:
Petone, Warfies

Uefa Cup:
Tawa, Wairarapa

Intertoto Cup:
Lower Hutt Reserves / Island bay?

What a dog fight would be on if these sort of spots were up for grabs.

Go the green and gold reserve team that battle out an exceptional result yesterday in difficult conditions and another poor refereeing display from the same ref as last week.
The monkey is finally off the back with that win against Kapiti who seem to always manage a result against LH Rezzies.
Admir with another storming game and surely would feature in that Champs premier selection team after weeks on end of solid performances.

Get in there!

Upper hutt were robbed of a point on saturday. They having a goal disallowed from a offside, even it was clearly off a petone head. Dumb F'n ref. But good game all up. How the hell do mark a 7foot giant in the air???????

Upper Hutt vs Kapiti will be a real battle royale!!!

That game in hand for upper hutt will prove to be crucial!!!

Upper hutt will kill Kapiti when they play at Harcourt. So lets now say bye bye to Brooklyn and Kapiti now. Hahaha

Don't know about that Axeman . It will depend on how Rooker and  Matty Bennett play . Those two can range from being superb to woeful . If they bring their A game they will destroy Kapiti but if they have an off day it could be a long day fir Upper Hutt .

Nah mate, Its going to be a long ride home for those kapiti boys. Rooker and Bennett have given the Upper Hutt boys the edge they have been missing for the last 2 years. Romour has it Andy Le Prou is coming back next year too??

I think with or with out rooker and bennit Upper hutt will beat kapiti at home and then they will beat Brooklyn aswell and kapiti wont win any more games as they dont have brooklyn in the run in.
So with upper hutt only 5 points behind them i think kapiti are gonna be playing miramar reserves in a playoff game which will be real tuff for kapiti when miramar drop the maximum three players from the first team!

See ya later Kapiti.

Miramar won't drop any players for the game who wouldn't be playing for them if the first team had a game that weekend (assuming the firsts are not playing that weekend).

Does that make any sense?

Its unlikely that the 1st team will still be playing when this game is beeing played, assuming that the format is the same as last year. Even if they were playing that weekend im sure unless the first team had a league clinching game that they would definitly put alot of emphasis on the promotion game and definitly drop 3 players to help put their club in the best position possible for next year. With the 1st team playing in central league and the 2nds playing in Champs premier that is the ideal situation and im sure Miramar will want that pritty bad!

they wouldn't drop players because the second team would not want them.

It is not as if there is massive TV money to be made from playing in the higher division, so the club will remain loyal to the players who got the team to the play-offs (assuming they make it).

personally I think that Miramar will win the league - the amount of goals they score is ridiculous, and I can see Marist dropping some more points as the grounds get heavier and suits their play less.

Who knows.  I do know that Miramar will not have players like Butterfield, Batty, Rowe or Eagers playing for them if they end up in a play-off.  I guess a couple of guys who have played for them during the season might play, but no ring-ins for a 1-off game.

Once the season is over for the 1st teams, any player who takes the field in there final match     can not play in any another team;  ie you can't regrade/drop  players if your season has been completed.

so how did Jimmy Cudd, Michael Smith etc play for Wests in the NW vs Wests Promo/Relegation game a few seasons back?

They drop the players down in stages before the season finish; eg You could have your complete 1st TEAM  in the league below in 4 weeks .

Chopper im afraid your wrong because last year I played in the promotion game against Marist in the Lower hutt reserve team and we were allowed to drop any 3 players from the 1st team who were signed and registered with the club and had played 2 league games in any division for the club, which we did, and probably ended up beeing the difference.

And anyone who thinks that Miramar wouldnt do the same is beeing ridiculous! why would they not want to. Having ur top 2 teams playing in the top 2 leagues is where every club should be aiming to be. They should and will do what ever it takes to get that, no doubt!
If they dont then thats as ridiculous as people who think they wont!

I think if they are looking at a future for the Central League they need to look at a Reserve League as well.  That would be a breeding ground for the younger players and would enhance the Capital Premier League as well.  Works in the NPL, which is probably the most competitive league going round at the moment

Sorry JD. They ran with that Reserve Team League system a while back. It sucked. Reserve teamers were totally disinterested in their league. Only cared about getting the chance to play first team. No promotion. No demotion. No passion. No good.

Add to my points above ...

The difference in club depths is also far too big to sustain a credible and competitive league - for instance, the Wests Reserve Team versus the Tawa Reserve team. The current system is much better. The talented young kids in the Wests second team get good, competitive football every week.

I'm sure that is why Miramar is hoping to get its Reserves promoted into Cap Prem. A great opportunity for young kids like Kevin Thompson and Steve Jones to test themselves at a senior level.

Hi Easty, Don't where that rule is about signed and registered with a club and had played 2 games but  Player Eligibility Rule B; No more than three Central or Premier players can be regraded down into any local league for any one game. When the relevant Central or Premier league is completed NO further players can be regraded from such Central or Premier league team. Rule is quite clear.
If YOU DROPPED CENTRAL LEAGUE players after they had finished the season, let Marist know or Capital Soccer and this season may have been a waste of time.
Why do you think  Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool  etc ...... are not allowed to play their reserve teams in the Football league ?

What good are superstars when the ground is so wet you cant pass a ball 3 yards.

I have to agree with wingback4eva. The weather is shocking, cant pass the ball through water. Have to chip it to each other.

Surely thats gona be Wharfies gameplan so its all about who can do it better. Wharfies have been dominant in s**thouse conditions this year, a 2-0 victory over a talented Wests team (that beat Petone in the wet the week before) last week confirmed it.

Thanks quality, thats the first time someones agreed with me.
