MAAAAATEEE what a win, to all those that supported us on this, thank you, to all those who didnt, well it looks like we showed you what we can do.
Without a doubt, yesterday was the best day in the clubs history. We had a great time in Auckland, pitty you couldnt hear us chanting on tv that well (at the ground it was much louder).

In regards to the game, I believe that Raffy was the key man. We really did deserve it. However what an  unbelievable goal by Three Kings, pitty thats all they had, couldnt really string a few passes together. In regards to the peno, well it can go both ways, it wasnt a dive or anything as he did get pushed, however I dont see why the defender needed to make that challenge. No complaint from the defender really either. Ahwell.

For a neutral like u Feverish, u may have viewed it as crap, but being there was an amazing feeling to be apart of.. let the partying continue.

PS: If any Olympic supporters would like to purchase the chatham cup t shirts we were wearing yesterday, feel free to contact me. Otherwhys u may wait till we bring out CHAMPIONS T shirt!!!

I think you are being really unfair with Del Monte. Despite being South American, I cannot recall him diving at all in the first half. In fact, everytime he went down the referee called a foul except once when everyone else could see that it was actually a foul. He did dive in the last minute of the game inside the box and that was it.....I would have done the same thing in the last minute of a Chatham Cup final....Barbarouses took it to another level and did the same thing with 15 minutes to go...

Olympic was a better side and deserved to win but not with a penalty that never was....

regarding the penalty, it may have been soft but it was still a foul. if it was outfield it would have been a free kick therefore its in the box so its a penalty. simple arshavin232009-09-21 12:44:47

Interestingly in the Premiership over the weekend the EXACT SAME penalty was given.  I forget who the two teams were but I'm sure if you watch the PL Review show you'll see it.
Think you're talking about Jamie Carragher's foul against West Ham - I thought the same thing, they were remarkably similar.

Don't think Olympic played that well but still deserved the win. Mind you as soon as they got past Wharfies it was inevitable they would win it...

I dont really understand why people are saying Olympic were better than TKU? They were in patches but TKU had control over the second half especially in the last 10 minutes and they set the pace for the whole game?

Also, it definately was not a penalty and to everyone who said it was or it could go either ways then you should look at the replay and what everyone said about it? And the defender did complain but none of the Olympic players appealed or anything? The lino didn't flag it.

The ref was sh*t. So many people are saying that Luiz Del Monte from TKU was diving? He was tackled late all the time and Olympic were sh*t with their tackling, especially George barbaroues. he should of been booked alot earlier.

And the Olympic keeper was a muppet. Frank van  Hattum must have been so embrassed to present his nephew with a medal when he looked like that.. And during the game trying to have a go at Stuart Hogg? That was pathetic mate.

I am a little bemused by the fact that Three Kings played a differant style in the final than they had all season with Glenn Eie starting, this caused TKU to play at a much slower pace than normal on the counter and most certainly Del Monte and Eie were not linking well.
TKU dominated the first 15mins and should of been two up, after that Olympic took control with Raf De Grigorio and Barbarouses controling the midfeild. The last 25mins was certainly all three kings with Dan Finlay just scraping the cross bar with a good volley that neary took it to extra time
Highly entertaining game to be at

first of all you now nothing about me and my uncle so clear off! second of all stuart must be one of the most easy players in nz to wind up, just ask the 2 or 3 team mates he has had a bust up with at trainging this year, so i thought i would see if i coud wind him up but for a change he didnt react.
if you have a view on this being pathetic thats up to you but steer clear of thinking you know anything about my family, this is a forum abouth the cup!

Why would they when both of them were at least twice the distance away from the incident than the ref?

Its interesting to read all the abuse about the referee and he played here and played there. One would suggest that he wouldn't have gotten there had he had a streak about him that showed and element of bias, and if he had, wouldn't it have shown by now?

Someone said Oleary and Hester were busy, who else do you pick to do it? People are quick to throw out abuse but have no real clue what they are saying. No one has mentioned a better referee canditate for that game. I'm just glad it wasn't that congo guy from Manawatu cause he is just awful.

" so he used to play for Olympic and works for Capital" umm you i'm sorry i know i'm a new poster but u can't really have someone who is going to ref a key game as a chatham cup finalist especially if he's played for one of the sides before.

Jeff Vader, it was not a penalty. maybe they could have socred a "real goal" but that was not a penalty kick i was sitting in the stands as a neutral. the defender didn't even have a chance to make a challenge at the ball...i think u are a bias supporter of olympic which i cannot hate at all but the ref was all wrong about the pk. olympic could have scored a goal during regular time and there would have been no doubts with me.

and when u say keeping card in his pocket. u were actually thinking that cards should have been spread out from both sides. mostly from the olympic side because most of them couldn't tackle at all. it's no conspiracy at all.. the ref. wanted to be a part of this match and definitely he is. that's no pen and if u were a neutral supporter u would have thought the same. the commentators of the game knew that it wasn't a pen either.

No I'm saying the cards should have come earlier... so no, you don't know what I was ACTUALLY thinking. You can't accuse him of being card happy and trying to impress himself on the game when most posts on this thread recognise there could have been more.
I've only lived in Wellington a year you numpty. An Aucklander for the previous 47 years before that. I can look at a game with out my eye patch on though. Can you? Stick to your sandpit boy.

Saw the highlights this mornng. Lol'd and NVH's reaction to the striker falling over/dry humping him. With his reaction is was expecting blood and/or concussion. Or was it the fact he messed up your hair. Top effort on the pink kit though Nik, was a classy effort and massive congrats to Olympic on picking up the trophy. Well deserved after a great season.

Its no longer a problem.

Interesting comments re the ref I am sure if you were to ask any of the Olympic boys they didnt want Jamie to ref them as they feel he is basis against them. I am sure there was alot of conversations re Jamie being the ref. Personally I thought he did a good job he could have pulled the cards out earlier for both teams but didnt and he let the game flow. The peno who knows I think there was several good shouts at other times for penos as well. At the end of the day they do not have replays to make decisions and they have to make a split decision on what they see I am sure all of us have had good calls and bad calls when it comes to refs decisions do you come on here and moan about the good ones no you dont you smile and accept them. The games over Olympic have won and brought the cup back to the new home of football Wellington and as Wellingtonians we should be proud that it is here and not in Auckland. You personally may or may not like the bubbles but as a Wellington club they have done the region proud well done guys.
