Was a combined 1st and 2nd team you played against. We have several players out. Injuries, work, nzfc and youth teams etc

So Stop Out have signed Fifi and Madden?  I also heard they have another NZFC player on the way... but they have lost Cole Gwilham (reserve goalie), Si McCarthy (Centre Back), Abass Shiek and Ross Grounsell (midfield), Si O'Neil and John McKay (Strikers).... With Regan Steele (Midfield) still in USA on scholarship, also Fissum Aden (striker) linked to Wests.... Not to mention 6 of the youth at Dallas Cup, so wont they miss the start of the season....

How big is the cheque book?  They may need it this year

I thought Madden was going to play for Petone? Not exactly a massive signing though. He was rubbish last year.

No cheque book.  Clubs broke after the state of the art deck out the back which i must say is the sh*t . There's only 2 or 3 in that states team in our first team squad. All the other players you mention the club won't miss as they are average. Madden is currently as jenny craigs getting ready for the upcoming season and will be fit come april. Two team race. Stop out and wharfies.

BuildIt... What are you talking about? 4 of the players going to the Dallas Cup have played for stop out 1sts over the last couple of years, and given the state of the team at the moment, the defintely would have been in the team - Johnny Coulter, Justin Gulley, Mike Hagarty, Luke Hartstonge

As for the players you have lost from last year... the 3 centre midfielders that started last season abass/ross/regan - so now you have Steve Gulley and Damon playing in there, not sure if Ado will still be there.  You have lost the poms, plus john mckay, fizzum, and o'neil so there are you strikers... and you have lost your centre back mccarthy, so now you have Alex McDonald (38?) and Luke playing there....

So yes you may sign one more and have an ok starting 11 but where is the depth? What happens if Tony gets injured in goal?  Theres no Cole there to step in, plus Jake Kemp at Dallas Cup.... What is Mike Sulley going to go in goal?

Big call to think you will be in this race

Not sure where that one came from - he never trained with or contacted us.

I would like to apologize if I offended anyone at Stop Out with my last post, this was not my intention.  If you know who am I then you will know that Stop Out has been a huge part of my senior football career (if thats what you can call it).

I was just amazed / slightly offended at BuiltIn's comments that Stop Out wont miss any of the 7 players not returning "as they are all average".... With 7 going and 3 possible signings, my point was more to do with depth rather than the quality of players they have there, because they do have good players.

Judging by that Ross fellas performances for Island Bay in the Hilton they'll be glad they're rid of him.

I also heard he was on big cash.

I think you have hit the nail on the head.

Players like $teve and fif and maddon wont be cheap.
$teve and Fifi would = $$$$$ half the team funds.

Where will they end up nowhere. Sounds like a Visa ad

They will miss the depth and as you said no cover for TJ. He aint no spring chicken

Call it how you see it DRG.

No point pulling punches.  It'll be there for all to see come the season.  If the cheque book is out, lets hope they don't break the bank.  Most of the deck was funded by Pelorus, they can't blame the coffers on that.

What's happend to that dude Alex, who jumped ship from LH mid season?  Is he back or did he do a runner?

Sulley's not there this year. They didn't want him, but no replacement....  I hear the Masters have a couple of handy goalies, til Jack gets back.

So no goalie coach and no real backup for TJ other than masters. The kemp boy is quite good but not in this comp not yet anyway.

What is the club thinking.

DRG, WTFNZ, ENDEAVOUR!!!!!!

You people are pathetic. You were involved with Stop Out in 2008 when they were a joke and you now try to stirr it up from outside the club. Disgraceful. The club is better off without you.
You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!!!!!

As a neutral observer I was impressed with Stop Outs 2-0 win over Petone yesterday with a very young looking team.

The future looks bright

You're correct, I was involved in 2008, Also 2007, the beginning  of last year & back in 88 - 90...
My effort wasn't just in terms of palying and organisational effort, but also financial, making donations over that last 2 years, so I think my commitment over the years would rate against all but a cherished few associated with the club.

Still a playing, financial member and at the moment still intend to be for a long time to go. If you knew me, or played me, you'd know they one thing that I detest more than anything is bullying behaviour

Like I said in my post, whatever people post on here, whether they're right or wrong, is for all to see come the season. What's the disgrace in that?  Nothing to be ashamed of and I'm happy to stand by that.

Youngblood08, you obviously know who I am, of which is not shared in return, so if you want to serve up abuse, put your name to it, or perhaps come face to face, rather than hiding like a coward

I've not seen Stop Out play this season & to be honest, rely on YF regarding who Yugo has recruited or lost.  Contrary to currently posted views, I personally think the Dallas Cup boys being overseas will have an impact, particularly on depth.  That's my view, happy to stand up & say I'm wrong, if it doesn't prove that way....  They're all talented lads, so losing 6 players at the beginning of the season is an unknown.

Ooops, weren't a couple of those players introduced to senior footy in 2008, so not everything could have been a joke.

One of the things I'm proud of duri9ng 2008 was that whilst mistakes were made, people were allowed the right to voice their opinion without being shouted down privately (initially) and now publically. Similarly the club is not just 1 team, which is where my view is obviously different from your own.

Who should the club be better of without is a good question.  Someone who is prepared to debate pros & cons of events & decisons in a topical manner, or someone who gets emotionally aggressive in the middle of discussion & banter.

Oops, obviously struck a sensitive point, although not sure where.  I've not seen any correction of differing views, so I'm assuming D R G was on the money.

Congrats to the lads for the 2-0 result yesterday, absolutely... well done & a good result.  I've not read any reports, so someone let me know how they played.

as for you being a neutral observer, we'll that's for all to see.

Apologies for everyone reading this disertation, but I'm getting tired of unjustified public personal attacks with no substance, If people think what I've said is any way outta line, then please say so, cos I just don't see where I've done it. Stop Out committee, don't worry responding, I'm already aware of your view.

Oh, by the way,  Thank's to the Phoenix for a magic ride over the last few weeks, but that's a fantastic topic for a different thread.

Stop Out looked very sharp yesterday against our first team who had a bit of an off day.  We also missed a pen (Jack saved once but retake was ordered and we missed the second go at it).

Stop Out dominated though and it looks like they'll be contenders in the Cap Prem race this year.  Karori also look pretty good, and Mar reserves will be strong despite a pretty mixed Hilton campaign, so it won't be easy.

Thanks for the report Smithy.

Well done the Reds.  FYI, its Jack Kemp in goal & his shot stopping abilities is why he's in the Dallas Cup squad I'm picking.

Good luck you fellas

Youngblood...... I'm really not sure where to begin.  I know better than most of the quality of footballers Stop Out have, as I have played with the first team for the last 6 years, from Cap 1 to Central League, thats not what i'm getting at.  If you played with me in any of those teams (like endeavour you obviously know who i am, and I dont know who you are) you will know that throughout a season people get suspended, people get injured, so in order to win a league you need depth. That is my point, Cap Prem is a competitive league and there are quite a few good teams, you need depth to win this league.

I also like you Youngblood think StopOut have a very bright future, hence 6 dallas cup players, they people like Justin Gulley who has amazing talent, but with these guys maybe missing the start of the season, as well as losing 7 players, do they have the depth?

Feverish, what I said was

[QUOTE=DRG]I also like you Youngblood think StopOut have a very bright future, hence 6 dallas cup players

Regarding the league, I think you can win it with young players as long as you have a good base of seasoned players as well, so this requires depth (season players + quality youth coming through).  Stop Out have lost 7 players from last year, so of course that effects their depth.  I wish them all the best as I have alot of time for the club and most of people involved in the club, but I am worried about the depth they have this year, and without depth i'm not sure if they can win it.

Look youngblood if you have a problem with me thats cool, but i'm sure the rest of yellowfever members dont care.

The reasons behind me playing for another club are to do my personal changes, eg where I live, where I work, not having a car... so cant make training on time

I have been through ups and downs with Stop Out, and love the club so of course I worry.  So unless your name is Alex McDonald dont question my commitment to a club who I have played 1st team football for 6 years, been from cap1, to cap prem, to central league, back to cap prem, been through 5 coaches, seen "superstars" come and go, season to season.

Pull your head in mate, I can and am concerned about the depth of StopOut not just first team but for the club, and in my opinion for good reason.  They need to get the second team higher than cap 4 to bring more players to the club and to breed more quality young players and I hope they do

At the risk of another serving from Youngbloodpressure

It depends on the age of kids.  The real test is experience.  Litlle Gulley has now played seniors for 2 years & can definately hold his own in Central League let alone Cap Prem. Some of the others came off the bench last year & had a little time.  Some played their first year of Seniors last year.  Some went back & played for schools.

If you start at 15, are you still classed a kid at 18, even though you've 3 years competitive level footy under your belt?

Don't get me wrong.  These boys are really really good, but a team is as strong as it's weakest link.  That may come in the middle of an injury crisis where you need depth, that may come in terms of the leadership that needs to be around these boys to grow & develop.  That may come down to simple lack of concentration at key moments by 1 or 2 players.  It just may come down to experience

Like I said...  It'll be there for all to see come the season.  I dunno why people are so sensitive about that.

If we win it... Fantastic, That's the dream.
Top 4, maybe OK.... lets see how we feel about that, based on circumstances.
Mid table mediocrity....   Hmm maybe we did something wrong
Relegation...

I don't think we'll win it this year, but keep the boys together & I'd probably put money on next year.

I'd bank SO being contenders for U19's in Napier though.

Geez guys pull your heads in. You know who im talking about. No one cares about your life stories and why your not at the club anymore. We are holding a boxing night down at the club (stop out) soon, ring and all. Maybe you guys would like to come down and slug it out in the ring because im sick of seeing all your moaning and arguments on here. I know DG will be keen for a scrap. Change the topic.
