Marist have got a hit out against Wests 1sts/2nds/U-17 team on Sunday. Should be interesting

think wharfs are probably the good contenders to take it out this year. if they keep a fairly similar squad any team that has been together for a few years becomes seriously hard to break down, look @ Tawa last year. Can't really say $$$Out pushing for the top, maybe 4th or 3rd. Should be interesting

Still silence from the upper reaches of the Valley. Maybe the smoke signals got blown way in the southerly that just hit.

I hear ALP has had his foot fixed, but still needs to shed some summer excess.  True, False?
Higgy, you playing up there this year?   Has Matty Bennet got the turbo zimmer out for another season?

Nothing better than watching a fit ALP running at players with the ball.  Reminds me of Matty Cantwell.   Crying shame the knocks he's had the last few seasons.

Not sure about ALP's injury status but he has been playing. Yes to Sam Higgins & Matt Bennett also.
Wharfies use their size - long high balls and very physical if allowed to get away with it.

I hear subs have gone up considerably at Titanic Utd. Maybe to pay for G's boots?

always pretty cheap when i was there. maybe it also could be a lack of funding as a result of the drop?no parachute payments in the old central league.boots are pretty cheap these days..
saw this on website. $3680 a team - but they get a handbook

Memberships Subs: late last year all team captains were canvassed regarding subs and were comfortable with the proposed $230 pp fee for this year, minimum 16 pax per team.  In return, club members will receive an individual members card with loyalty offers and a Club Members handbook.

Not true.

However it is true that none of their voices have broken yet (except for Jason Musgrove's).

What do you mean could of? Were you drunk when you were watching it as well as now smithy???

So do you think that a friendly played at Farrington Park will have the same result as the second game of the season played at Karori Park?

I also take it youre not one of the many people backing Wharfies to take out Cap Prem this year? Do you think that Mar might have the goods?

Mar definitely contenders.  Wharf or Stop Out/Fiji C second.

My picks more a ploy to generate discussion than actual predictions.  I was hoping for someone better informed to banter with though....:-)

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yes I know how you feel, when I put my picks up orginally, I didnt really want to hear from someone who should be in the Cap 1 forum ;)

In fairness, that was hardly the top line-up the Wharf have...no Fulcher in goal, 1 usual starter in the back 4, few other marginals in the line-up...that game wasn't exactly a great point of comparison of the relative strengths and weaknesses of both sides.

I hear Wgtn United have Sacha in goal and have signed David Batty also.  G and Sammy Greene up front, Ginger Ben who trains with the Nix, Dicey at the back, a couple of Argentinians....they'll go close to bouncing straight back up I reckon.

Sacha will be suspended half the season anyway so won't matter too much!

The islander is Fifii.... just to add to the speculation of clubs he apparently has moved too

wests 3, naenae 1. granville had a blinder, definitely kept them in the game and rightly got MoM. we wasted about 20 chances on goal only to be let down by letting them score 3 out of 3 of their best chances. referee apparently thinks its alright to play the ball with your hand :P
