I think the player pool thing is being read to far in to. Have heard a fair few people from city clubs say they'd hate to see UH go up. But I also think that mar and olympic don't care enough to want to do anyone any favours.
Dont know what makes you say that, Miramar would hate nothing more than for Wellington United to come back up to Central League, if they are in a position to do anything to stop it, they definitly will!

Not to the detriment of their 1st team though, who have a rather large game on at the same time

Olympic won 5-3, last goal was a pen which another player got sent off on, and to be honest, was a pretty soft penalty and card. Missed the first two reds but seems they were soft.

I saw the ref run over, what happened?

The lino was running his line and some idiot was in the way and he ran straight into him without noticing him there.

to be fair in the ten minutes I watched I saw the Upper Hutt young striker miss five or six decent chances. Huge choke from UH

Shot to the uppet hutt players for being gracious in defeat, some.of the lads coming over to shake hands etc. Some of the supporters could learn a thing or two.
A big shame the trophy wasn't at wakefield park or a presentation organised. Such a fantastic day organised by cap footy but maybe the most important part forgotten about?
Anyhow, big ups to cap footy for the organisation of the whole league finale thing yesterday, if you weren't there you missed out.

What a massive Upper Hutt Choke! Only had to beat a pretty young looking Olympic reserves to win the league and get another shot at Central League and couldnt, if you can't do that, you don't deserve to be in central league anyway I guess. Well done Welly United for keeping the pressure on to be able to capitalise on the choke.

Couldnt agree with you more Ender.
Huge choke of monumental proportion.
3 players sent off.
Conceding 5 goals.
Unbelievable choke.

I guess the only consolation for Upper Hutt is that you have to be in with the chance of winning something in order to be able to choke on it.
They'll be disappointed no doubt, but two seasons in a row they've been near or at the top of the league.
Lots of teams underneath them have had less success (and in some cases spent more money).
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Was looking back at how the table changed week to week and found this gem from 13 July.
Upper Hutt will defo win the league again.... good to see the football showing its strength in Upper Hutt!
Plus the extra players that have come into the squad will definately push them into the central league
