thats nearly as bad as using the referee as an excuse.. I'm pretty sure many players aren't even sober from saturday night come kickoff time...... Maybe its just that greeks are lightweights?

Lhhhisten here mate.

Put a bottle of Johnny Red in front of me and ill see you at the bottom in 20.

Nah no excuses for the 19's, fair result from what i gather.

Just cant wait for Napier, hopefully we can challenge for a playoff spot. BUT by looking at our group, not going to be easy.

am i right in assuming there will be no games this weekend?... only double headers for champs premier, cap1 and cap2?

I wouldn't think so.

It's the last week with the grounds so they will try and play some football.  Weather is meant to perk up for the next few days as well.

How's my driving? - Whine here

college teams are going away to national tournaments on sunday, so there are no games this week. ivan england will continue i presume on grounds that are only designated for soccer and won't effect summer sports - ie. centenial and petone memorial

Any clubs posting on this thread (or just reading it) interested in coming to Christchurch at Labour weekend for the inaugral Tsunami South Island U19 tournament? Run along the same lines as Napier, just in a nicer setting . If you are PM me or e-mail gareth@linfield.co.nz for more info. Cheers.Ronaldoknow2008-09-01 19:51:01

Rumours have it (Jc) that miramar has a pretty decent side this year. Looks like the 3 decent sides will be Miramar, Lower Hutt and possibly Olympic.
Ye ok Olympic drew on the weekend dno what was with that tho, didnt c the game so cant talk about it but very poor result. Better when there following games.

Pavlos, surely you cant be rating olympic as a decent side on their current form?

Mate ur judging this from 2 games.
First game: not even the under 19s team side played. Only a bout 3 players or something.
Second game as said above however I will repeat myself... I admit this was a poor result however I am not sure wat happened as I was not there.
I predict this team to do well and I do rate them because I know most of these players and they r all pretty good. This is reflected in the performance of the 2nd team which is the under 19s team as they are now playing for promotion. With about 9 players in this team having played central league I think I can safely say ' they will be decent' :)

Sorry mate I'll have to disagree with you on this one.

yes. there is nothing else to go by. a team can only be judged by results.
..2 games played, 1 point gained after playing 2 generally "weaker" teams... this is a decent team??

It's safe to say that no teams are full strength at the moment.. Does this indicate that your 'decent' team has no depth?

Are you sure you mean your second team? Or are you talking about your first team playing for your second team?

watched the wgtn utd SO game.  It actually finished 1-1 after a last minute goal to SO however they were playing 2 overaged palyers.  Hence the 2-0 result.  Not bad football from the lads considering we had prizegiving the night before

saw the Lower Hutt Island Bay game. Island Bay had 26 or so players I think which was ridiculous. Lower Hutt didn't seem to amazing there number 9 upfront was a bit of a handful though if island bay choose to play there strongest team the whole game it would have been very tight. At one stage they virtually subbed there whole team.

Stop Out had no English boys playing yesterday.
Played two overage player due to players either working , injured or away.
So started with 11 Under 19's player on the park and had two overage players on the bench (One was 20 the other 21).

It was a good even game we both side playing some good football and the game was played in a very good spirit.

Much thanks to Jim Murphy ( ref) who did a great job.

only saw the last few minutes Karori v Bubbles. Bad bobsled by Olympic dude at the end. Coach went off at them at the end for thinking they were prima-donnas.

are the people in charge of stopout on something??... why couldn't the under19s players just play 90 minutes of football?... surely it would have been more beneficial than playing players who are over age
