With Cashmere beating Nelson this weekend, do we know how Nelson will shape up this season and how many National leagues players are sticking around for the winter season??

No.

Next question.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Question: when will Comet be loaded onto Federation websites?

Supplementary question: will Comet show player transfers?

I heard that yes it will, however it's way down on the list of things to do.

Like Vim said, working on other things but heard that hopefully this function (transfers) will be working prior to season start.

With all the dramas that occurred last year, and adding to it the fact that a brand new system is coming in, lets hope for a whole heap more double-checking to be done so points aren't deducted.

I know how it is now passed back to the individual and the club to have someone 'terminated' and then join the new club, but I really do think for the important grades, MPL, WPL, CCL and Sunday League Division 2, all clubs send in their squads (lets say there's 20 odd per team) and it gets checked by Mainland to say it's legit.

That's 20 teams x 20 people, which is 400 names to check. Plenty of staff there to check that right? Done once it shouldn't need to be done again unless that person changes clubs.

They are likely to have a few but all regulars. Alex Ridsdale (Southern) is back, and speculation that Omar Guardiola (Southern) may be as well. Tasman players are Ryan Stewart, Corey Wilson, Mark Johnston, Sam Ayers, Ben Wright and new signings Labu Pan, Chester Gaskin and Jordan Yong.

Yeh right there lad but it is Mainland Football.

Seems the new system keeps all players at a club as registered and paid up from 2017 to 2018 without showing who has and hasn't paid 2018. No need to pay subs until the club comes calling if they are on to it.

Clubs need to check this manually on the full club list. So pre 1980s.

Not a big task for the developers of this upgraded system to have had sorted. Who did NZF talk to before launch date?

Needs at the 1st of each year an uncheck tag against a player at each club this than gets auto updated upon the new season subs payment.

Wouldn’t teams need to send the list of their reserve players too as you never know if someone different may get a call up, or in the case of Sunday League a random off the street

Be simpler to flag registration completely. It's just a money grabbing exercise anyway. Then anyone can play for anyone anytime. Much more fun. Save a lot of money and grief.

Some do (pre-season)

Incorrect - clubs who take payments through the MyComet system can see payments. Some clubs like my own have decided not to use this method, and simply check bank accounts to see who has paid (simple really).

Transfers are now simpler - the club wanting a player transfer - finds the player, requests a transfer (similar to the SportsTG process).

The transfers are now easy to see where they are at (colour coded) e.g. held up by last club. If after 7 days of no action from the previous club Mainland can authorise the transfer. Previous club can as usual reject the transfer due to monies owed, gear owed.

Just need a transfer page for all you nosey buggers :), it will come but no as high on the list as other areas.

The new system shows all regos for 2018 & whether they are paid/unpaid. Alot clearer than the old system

Probably has more to do with what the club as a whole as achieved through:

Club Administration and Leadership, Planning and Finance, Compliance, Volunteers, Referee Development, Player Development, Fit4Football and Coach Development, Community Engagement and Football For All.

But you go ahead and keep chopping your poppies down.

For the record, it was also shared with  Old Boys Collegians Cricket Club

Coastal have the party bus doing a roadie out to Selwyn on the weekend.

The big question on everyone's lips are whether the dug-outs are on the right side.

Maybe not enough seats for the game this weekend then?

Looking forward to Selwyn in the MPL, now that Halswell have been relegated the Stallions are my 'local' team.

Selwyn are the 20th club to play in the MPL and are the first team from outside Christchurch and Nelson in the league.

2001 was "Federation 6 Premier League". It became "Mainland Premier League" in 2003.

2002 season was the first MPL won by Ferrymeads Bays - Bobby Almond was the coach

Moving the transfer chat over here....

Yes I agree with AW82; I was thinking there would be heaps more transfers on the cards. Nothing major at all apart from Halligan from Tech to Bays.

Hopefully after last season teams know it would be silly to play ineligible player(s)

At least one player meant to be heading to Coastal 'missing in action' from the transfer page at the moment Vim.
