Good work with that.

15 points gets you there with a maybe but, 20 points will lock and load a team to 5th.

Looking forward to watching a game this Saturday.

Hey Newkidd. Join the Coastal Train/Bus to Selwyn this weekend. That's the place to be. Despite it heading to Selwyn. Otherwise it's gonna be a great day.

Is there any promotion this year about the season kicking off apart from a club countdown? Seems a little underplayed considering it's Southern League season too. Fire up!

Preview in today's Star and with The Press no longer covering local sport do not expect to see anything there.

Or you might want to check our Ferrymead Bays who won the MPL last year

Sounds like Rolleston is going to have 300 plus at that game so I'd go there. Two exciting teams to watch

Not really correct about Bays being 1 - 0 wonders last season as only four of their 17 wins were by that scoreline.

I couldn't find anything in the Star, and are the Press really not doing anything? Or Mainland?

Are we in a large city in the 21st century?

Been told by the sports department at The Press that no longer covering any local sport, been like that since earlier this year. This is happening nationally via other publications in the Fairfax Group with a couple of dozen staff let go because of this that is why Phillip Rollo (ex Nelson Mail reporter) has moved from Nelson to Wellington.

The Press hasn't had a sports section for ages - just a "rugby, racing & a bit of cricket occasionally" section.

Anyone know if mainland or any clubs are planning on live-streaming games?

FT 4-3 to Coastal.  Hell of a game. Nice to see a good crowd and the Coastal supporters make the trip ( even if they were quiet for 92 mins) ;)

From what I saw of selwyn today if they can play like that against a team offering $10-12k for a player from May onwards, then they will be doing well for the rest of the season. Great game of football for neutrals

finally home from the long trip out to foster park. A Fantastic little set up they have out there! A lot teams including the opponents today could take note. Very entertaining game. Coastal weren’t really in it at all personally but certainly got a massive lift from the subs made from selwyn coach big mistake to which I’m sure he will learn from. But think the occasion for selwyn and experience of coastal was the difference other than that selwyn were better by far. Only down point on game was the coastal coach sometime you can excuse for passion but he went pass that I’m afraid. He was certainly doing the dissent for his players and using the f bomb at any opportunity.

All in all glad football is back been long time

The big question on everyone's lips are whether the dug-outs are on the right side.

They will be on the right as you look at them from one of the ends

lol missed this, very funny

Wow what a Game!! The support from both teams was amazing. Coastal were a bit hard done by by the referee but I feel Selwyn deserved something from that game

What the ............? They were ok at times, average at others. Put in a huge shift in the first 20 - 30 against a team clearly short of a gallop who grew in to the game in spite of a few shonky refereeing decisions. Enjoyable game, great atmosphere and venue. Good luck to Selwyn in the next round.

That's right, you've got to hurt his feelings to get 10 in the bin. Doesn't seem too hard to achieve these days.

For what it's worth I thought Louie had a good game and would have gone close to man of the match if Macca hadn't banged in 3 goals.

Good to see Eddie the Eagle manage to stay on for 90 as well.
