So much for working together for the good of football in Chch; I assume Coastal Spirit will play their semi final at ASB or Cuthberts.
Opportunity lost.

I thought Coastal had English Park booked in for 12:30 that day. Surely the Women haven't been bumped for the Men!

What u on about Vim? According to that tweet, Cashmere have decided to play their semi at Garrick. I was thinking a double header at ASB. Women at 12.30, Men at 2:45. We got lights, we could even play it later.

If non New Zealander's then I believe it is only three on the team card in any game.

What is the classification to non New Zealander's? Does players with residency count as NZ or International?

Also guessing this doesn't apply to the Sunday League as there would be no teams that are legal!

Taken from NZF regs...http://www.nzfootball.co.nz/fileadmin/user_upload/Documents/Rules_And_Regs/Regulation_5_-_2013.pdf

As a general rule:

13.1. Any player who is not a New Zealand citizen or who does not hold a permanent resident permit, and requires an ITC to play in New Zealand, is to be regarded as a “Guest Player.”

13.2. No team may have more than three (3) Guest Players recorded on a team card in the same match.

13.3. 13.1 and 13.2 will apply to all competitions that fall within the direct control of NZF and controlled by the regulations for these competitions.

The application of this paragraph 13, beyond NZF competitions, will be at the discretion of each District Federation to determine. However it is expected that this paragraph 13 would apply to the principal competitions of each federation both at senior and junior level and for both male and female competitions

13.4. A Guest Player may, after having resided continuously in New Zealand for a period of not less than twelve months, be re-classified provided they apply in writing to NZF via their local District Federation.

Bit harsh. Oly play home games on turf so would be an advantage for them to play at English Park.

No way 2B. Cashmere is a virtual Canty Utd team - they all train and play on the plastic regularly. Real missed opportunity to promote the sport in Chch by having both semis at same venue. Mainland pushed for it but Cashmere said no. So now half the crowd will turn up to one or other game, with only a small number of die hards going to both. FAIL. And before Norfolk jumps in with a "winning the game is the best for football in Chch" comment, Cashmere's chance are no better at Garrick than at ASB for reasons as stated above.

As the Chatham Cup is a NZ Football competition they have the final say as to when and were cup games are played including KO times so NZ Football must have OKed it. I know that due to the time Olympic are flying out, and allowing for extra times and pens that the Chatham Cup cannot kick-off any later the 2pm and if the Women's KO Cup game is kicking off at 12.30pm then sadly the two games cannot be played at the same venue.

Forgot to add to the above posting that while NZ Football make payment from semi final stages it does not cover the entire airfare costs and with the ALL Black in Welly that weekend they will not be too many cheap fares going at this stage. I know for a fact that some of the airfare Seatoun were quoted was $7000 for the return trip on the Saturday.

There's rules AW, and then there's common sense. As any ref will tell you, common sense prevailing is usually the best course.

I understand Coastal would have played at Cuthberts if the pitch had been up to it, only reason they are at ASB is the pitch. I understand Cashmere playing at Garrick, it's in good nick and their home ground. May be an advantage if the Greeks are used to artificials.

Common sense is one thing but tell if one game has to kick-off at 12:30pm and the other at 2pm how can they be played at the same venue, would get away with it for a league game but not a cup game with the possiblities of extra time and pens.

I suspect On the Fence means in terms of not effecting a game actually played on the park!!
And I am also guessing they wouldn't have appealed if there wasn't something we are all missing.

The court room decisions will be interesting.

Will we see Cashmere v Coastal in Reta & English Cup finals then? It's certainly on the cards, would make a great double header  at Garrick or Cuthberts :-)

Whoever makes the final if the Reta Fitz's and English Cup it will be double header but will be at ASB Footy Park.

Still heard nothing though given the speed that NZF have dealt with Uni's appeal I would imagine we should hear something Xmas 2019 or a round there

I must admit the idea of two semis on one day at one venue would have been great for canterbury football and also for the two clubs and players involved. Unfortunately it cannot work out that way. I believe we were open to either option (english park or garrick park) but in the end the scheduling meant Garrick. I believe our chances are good no matter where we play Wellington Olympic so would not say a certain ground suits us. 3 and a half weeks away and cannot wait for what should be a great weekend!
On top of that I wonder what will happen should the league not be sorted as the 24th is scheduled to be the last game of the season for everyone. Traditionally every team needs to play the last game at the same time (for fairness issues). I see there's a spare week afterwards (31st aug). Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge on this?

not sure how the AB would have much impact when travelling out of Welli (unless Wellingtonians are trying to flee the eggball). Looked on AirNZ and seventy buck flights there are bit more than twice that coming back. No one is going to be flying to the rugby in Welli after 4pm

Does the site how many seats are available on any one flight as would need around 20 seats plus the cost for transport to and from airport to ASB and some food all adds if.

so the quote included food?? they don't have an official party of 20 I'm sure. Still wondering what impact the AWs have on it like you claim. I sorted the same trip a couple of years back and it was relatively pain free.

Looking at Air NZ now.. Each seat about 228 return ($4560 @ 20people) There are some cheapies of 80 available going to chch. If you managed to get all of those there and 114 back then about 4k on airfares alone.

Include food and taxis then I'd say roughly 5.5k isn't out of the question

Part of any clubs risk management policy will be vetting patrons for sobriety/alcohol. As a known trouble maker I would expect them to pay you particular attention ...........
