Gee Vim, how long have you been holding on to those for just this sort of occasion! Very good. Indeed will be interesting to see some news finally. Going to be some very angry and happy people I guess. Watch this forum go nuts with slanging, claims and counter claims!

Another new job at Mainland I see.

What are the total staff numbers now?

Permalink Permalink

It would mean someone at Mainland having to check them. You don't get that for a mere $800k a year. Used to be done by volunteers every week at a total cost of zip. Now we are so much better off. Tui billboard time I think.

Interesting how they use sportingpulse and have to enter the player details. This would solve all the problems wouldn't it? Or create more?

Surely would have to better than the system they have at the moment at least there is some accountability there where at the moment it seems to be very little

The question would then be who enters the details?

The manager of each team as per what League does. The onus is on them to make sure they do it properly and all players are legit. Mainland can do a squizz at it on a Monday morning, check it off against players that are listed on the master sheet, should be able to get a good idea of who plays for who and it shouldn't take too long.

I should work for Mainland.

Ha ha you should Vim. Would make things a lot cleaner with less chance for clubs to exploit the fact that they just are not checked.

I'm sure Mainland can make room at a desk.  They must have brought quite a few new desks lately with all the new staff.

Soon we will have a new extension to ASB Park to incorporate all the new busy bodies!!

It'll be a '5pm Friday send the email update the webpage and lock the door' type of thing so they can't get any complaints straight away.

From the Mainland website regarding this weeks MPL games -

"If Bays are to be successful in their quest of an unprecedented third successive title they will have to record a good win over Coastal Spirit, building into their next round clash with Technical. Honours have been even between Bays and Coastal this season and the last three times the two have met in a Shield Challenge, the challenger has come out on top. Head to head: Played 8: Ferrymead Bays 3 Wins, Draws 2, Coastal Spirit 3 Wins Form: Ferrymead Bays L W L W W D Coastal Spirit L D L W D WPrevious Result This Season: Ferrymead Bays 1 Coastal Spirit 3, Coastal Spirit 3 Ferrymead Bays 2 Prediction: Nelson Suburbs Win"

Spot the blooper :)

Universities Points Decision

Upon consultation with New Zealand Football it has been decided that Universities will have all point losses reversed for the 2013 season.

While this has been a difficult process with much to decide we feel that it is only fair based upon the minimal error and as such have returned all points which were deducted. Furthermore as a sign of good faith Universities will start the 2014 season on +6 points.

This decision has not been made lightly, but we feel it has been done so in accordance with national guidelines.

bays season hanging on a thread with Coastal the better team on the night, riding their luck a little as 2nd week in a row opposition had a goal disallowed.

That's a pretty good stat against the side that's won the last 2 titles and still handily placed this year although Western should go ahead of Bays tomorrow after beating FC.

Yes with tonights result Bays grip on the championship looks to be over, will now need both Tech and Suburbs to drop most of their remaining games for a hat-trick of titles.

Even if Bays win their last three games - Tech at home, Western away and Halswell at home they would finish with 44 points which would be the lowest numbers of points in a 21 game if the did finish on top.
