Western are doomed by sacking him. He's a good guy.

Got offered $200 a week to stay at Bays, gees at that price I might even start supporting them.

Money thrown at Shawn O'Brien too, oh well, if you don't pay players how can you compete with that?

we don't need to bring players in. We should develop the ones we have. At least the players still at the club.

Heard the only reason Geoff was thinking of leaving was the amount of dosh being thrown at him by Coastal Vim.

Not here sorry. Anyways, you welcome back someone who was looking to leave and then comes back for $200 a week. Good team player that one.

Yes correct Messiah is in talks with some Europeans. Contacts he got introduced to when in UK  2015 and also has a contact here in Chch that is searching for specific kinds of players.

I guess the plan this year is to be 12 points better. In Messiah we trust!!

Well supported, top coach and top players. Hopefully with a little luck and not get ahead of ourselves, it will be happy days.

Good luck have fun.

AND no, they aint getting paid :( jog on

That plan is toast then - time for Plan B .

I know you're into stats AW82 but to go back through 4 months of posts to find this one which only really says we wanna be better is pushing it a little don't you think?

You might need to get some better ammunition if you're looking to fire some shots.

Getting a bit defensive tonight Vim. Your teams title shot is worse off this year, it's dead. And let's be honest, the way your lads are going. Could end up struggling for top 3.

And keep some of their younger players at the club?

No no, not defensive, just sticking up against what seems like a constant flow of pot-shots. As I said a week ago, I'm not exactly sure how we turned into the anti-christ of Christchurch football.

And, jesus, how is our title shot dead with 7 points off the pace and have 8 games to play? We've beaten Tech once, only lost 1-0 the other time, drawn with Bays, lost 1-0 in the other, so yer, we are heaps better than last year. And we get to play these teams again in the next round too.  Yes dropping points to stupid games has hurt, but I still can't see how the angst keeps a flowing.

Surely it doesn't have anything to do with me continuing to support my team? Tall poppy syndrome perhaps? Anti-East? Can someone fill me in?

Your always going to get haters Vim, most of the chat I've heard comes down to the attitudes of some at the club, specifically players and the fact a number of players have talked about being paid, but its constantly denied by the club despite where it comes from.  Perhaps that's what others on here believe, hence taking pot-shots. Personally no issue here, i'd rather talk about a decent brand and competition which we simply do not have, and haven't since the 90s. The standard of football all round is dire

I think because we are vibrant or at least visible supporters we have to cop what we may on occasion deliver.

Turn around is fair play.

The only jibe that annoys me is the accusation around player payments.

One would hope this would be the logical progression of such a policy.

The folding of an entire under 19's team would not help with this.

A fair assessment I would say.

You can ascertain what your opponent is afraid of by observing the means by which he attempts to frighten you

Wow. Now that's a headline.

Hmmm ....... there's a small matter of bringing the game in to disrepute ........ no mention of a $2500 fine similarly dished out to Western and Waimak in recent times if I remember correctly?

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?
